Nice setting, nice wine(a little overpriced), great place for a date but don’t take olives they are heated and not tasty. And they take time an outrageously long time to come

We wandered in here dressed as a snow bunny and a reindeer. The crowd here found that very odd and everybody looked. Do they realize that other things are happening in mid-town at any given time? AJ removed her antlers and I took off my massive fur earmuffs. The baked brie is freakin delicious. The serving is very small so we silently split it in half after the first taste(and realizing that the other also loved it) as a mutual decision to end any potential fork-wars from the get-go. Next was the Margherita panino, which was really good, but I was still thinking about the brie. We finished off with the Nutella Banana panino. It was good, but lacking on the Nutella. We slipped back on our festive wear(to the return of looks) and wandered back into the night to find Santa and the rest of our crew.

Finally drop by to check this place out. After a long week, we got here around 8pm on a Friday. We love wines and this place have a tasty selection with very reasonable prices! The foods support wines drinking but we enjoyed our Friday night here. This place is LOUD but the service is friendly even though they are busy. Will definitely try to come back.

Love this place! Great wine selection and the baked brie and s’mores are the the best! Both good to share with 2 – 3 people. The only down side is it can be hard to find a seat inside when it is really busy. Really a great place to grab some wine with girlfriends, just wish the had some cocktails too! Took my mom and she loved it!

We’ve been coming here for years, a real wine-nerd haven. An ever changing esoteric, eclectic and thoughtful list always provides great options at any price point. I’m not sure how many of the patrons know how lucky they are that 13 Celsius is an option as many of them seem hipper-than-thou, but it shows good taste that they chose this place. The staff seems to have changed several times over the years but I’m always pretty happy with whoever is working behind the bar. On top of the wine list they have a very well curated cheese and meat selection and we almost always let the server choose our cheese board after we’ve chosen a bottle to drink. Go to 13 Celsius and drink well.

Not great for groups. OK service, OK drinks and OK appetizers, price was average. The space was unique and trendy.

Fantastic place to come and have a really great bottle of wine or just a glass that will evolve into you purchasing a bottle to share with friends. The location is unremarkable. It’s not pretentious and the wines and craft beers are outstanding. This is the hip wine connoisseur location in Houston. I’ve been here 4 times. It’s open atmosphere and friends patrons and staff make this a worthwhile trip. Check them out.

The wine was delicious. I’m not sure however what I was drinking. I asked what they had open that was a Pinot noir. The server said they had a bottle open that wasn’t Pinot Noir but was similar with deep cherry flavors. During happy hour, they have half off glasses of wine of bottles that are already open. She never mentioned what the wine actually was unfortunately because I would order it again. We also ordered the prosciutto and melon plate. I was disappointed with it. The bread they served tasted a bit stale. Go for the wine, stick with the wine.

Perfect ambiance for late night talks, small bites and wine. You can sit wherever you’d like, and its full service. Hannah was the best! Will definitely be back.

I love wine bars, so this review might be biased haha but I definitely had nothing to complain about during my visit here on a Sunday night. The service: Lovely. The waitress, I wish I knew her name so I could give her credit, was charming, sweet, and quirky. And she gave an amazing wine recommendation based on what I said I liked(medium bodied reds with more predominant dark fruits than earthy). She recommended a Tempranillo from Spain. The wine: We got a bottle of the Tempranillo($ 45) and it was phenomenal! Truly medium bodied, with long legs(14% alcohol), and just the right amount of tannins. A good mixture of dark fruits and minerals. I loved it The food: We ordered the large charcuterie platter(3 cheeses, 3 meats, bread, and some nuts and stuff). Cheese: Brie, oriol, manchego. The Brie was my favorite. Meats: chorizo, bresaola, and a Greek one I don’t rmbr the name of. The bresaola was my favorite! Also got the s’mores for dessert and it’s basically like a mini campfire set up at your table. So adorable and fun and delicious. The ambience: Dim lighting and nice comfy black couches with short wooden tables provide nice little nooks for a circle of friends or a date night. It’s laid back and casual rather than upscale /pretentious. Overall: Enjoyed it a lot and hope to be back soon! Pro tip: They have a limited selection of half off wine bottles on Sunday but they run out fast so you’d have to come early to check it out. Keep calm and wine on! :)

This low key bar is what’s up! Adele and I share the perfect palette! Nothing short of amazing, hard-to-find reds, whites, and sparklings. If you are a wine geek, this is the place for you. No designated ‘house’ anythings here. The food doesn’t hurt, but, the wine, ah-may-zing s e l e c t i o n …coming from a wine geek.

Tucked away from all the other popping bars in midtown but that’s what I prefer when I’m trying to have a conversation with a good friend over charcuterie and wine. Great place with a vast selection of wines. Pricey, as all wine bars are, but charming. Heard they have half price bottles Sundays, which if it were true, I’d definitely give them 5 stars upon my revisit.

13 Celsius is tucked in a building on the edge of midtown away from all the usual hustle and bustle. The interior looks like an old Italian coffee shop and deli and I liked that it was unique! The bar was relatively quiet for a Wednesday afternoon and we had no trouble finding a seat. It looked like a post office happy hour crowd. Plenty of near by street parking The wine list was lengthy and we managed to find an affordable bottle(we originally stopped in hoping for a wine Wednesday deal but sadly there was none :(). We went with the Bree and it was delicious… But then again it’s cheese and it’s very difficult to mess up! I didn’t see any information about a happy hour on their drink menu… But if there is one I would probably go back for that.

Quaint wine bar in midtown. I don’t think there’s a sign for the place but it’s a random pale yellow building on its own. Found street parking in the front or parking in the back. Grabbed a couple seats at the bar but plenty of tables or couches to lounge at. Opted for a wine by the glass. They come in 3oz or 6oz pours around $ 8 to $ 13 respectively. A very chill none rushed vibe. Great place to sit and get back to the art of conversation instead of having your face in your phone. Didn’t eat here but the charcuterie looked amazing.

Came here with 9 people on a Saturday night & we were lucky enough to get 2 couches facing each other & a few chairs but I feel like it would be difficult to try & pull that off every time. The décor is rustic, candlelit, romantic while still looking like a typical wine bar. They offer small bites, wine(obviously) & some beers. They have very limited parking behind the building(7 spots) so street parking is your best bet. Let me start by saying that they get a 2 star for the staff, The waitress was rude to half the people in our group & didn’t seem to give a ****. She honestly made me think of a mean Peggy Olson. First of all, she took most of the table’s order, 1 of us had a question about the menu after giving a snarky answer, she walked away & didn’t take his order. At that point, we had all ordered at the same time with the exeption of this 1 person who ordered 5 minutes after us. He ended up waiting for 1 hour for a sandwich that was not worth the wait, when we asked her about making sure they didn’t forget his order, her response was that the kitchen was backed up. Let’s be honest here, how long does it take to put a panini sandwich together & throw some chips on a board? The baked brie was good. The charcuterie board was overpriced. We figured we’d let her suggest a bottle which was subpar, I ended up choosing the second one & it was much better. Overall good wine bar as long as you get a friendly staff member & make sure you eat somewhere else before or after you leave.

This place is really cool — great atmosphere for a date or a laid back upscale hangout with friends. They have an insanely massive wine selection, and some swanky appetizers to enjoy with your drinks. My friends and I shared a bottle of wine and the smores. There is an outdoor patio that is great when the weather is not too hot. Service could be better, but maybe it is just less attentive when you sit outside. Be prepared to handover a good bit of cash, but the prices are not too outrageous given the quality. There is some free street parking surrounding the building, but take care to hide anything of value in your car — this is still a semi-sketchy part of town.

Celsius 13 is a hip wine and cheese bar that offers a decent vegetarian sandwich and pricey charcuterie. The Good Lord knows I’m not qualified to describe wine: I can assure you that we had the red and the white kinds. I went for a friend’s birthday celebration with eight friends. We had to sit outside because there wasn’t space inside. The interior looked swanky: couches, dim candle lighting, and other fun, yet awkwardly sensual, décor. We ordered quite a few items. I had a caprese sandwich, which was great aside from the bread being a bit hard. The $ 50 combo platter had some nice cheeses too. The jury is still out on whether or not I’m wasting absurd amounts of disposable income on these kinds of restaurants that feed me small amounts and ask me to buy wine. I’m leaning toward, «Yes, Chris, eat before, and just come to hang out.» I think Celsius is still ironing out some kinks: Our server told us a few times that the kitchen was backed up, an understatement on the level of, «LeBron James is a fine basketball player,» or «Free solo climbing is hard.» It took 40 minutes to get a sandwich after ordering, and about 30 minutes to get just bread and butter. I remember thinking, «Whoa, 30 minutes for bread and butter… the kitchen must be very, very backed up.» The server actually took wine glasses early between bottles of wine because the restaurant was out, as in, they needed to wash them to serve other people. They were also out of side plates too, and brought out plates designed for coffee/espresso mugs and apologized. All in all, Celsius 13 was fun. I feel that I’d go back with friends, but eating beforehand would be prudent.

Great ambience, great food — perfect for a late night date spot. Our main server was less than impressive, but there was another woman behind the bar who was exceptional and she single-handedly improved our experience… I truly wish I remembered her name. We will be back and I will update this with her name so you know who to ask for!

Love this place, 13 celsius is hidden so if you’re not familiar with midtown or Houston in general it may be a little tricky to find because there’s no sign on the building whatsoever. They have amazing pretzels and some great tasting brie!!! I personally like to drink their local houstononian double IPA but this is for the most part a wine bar so obviously have a great selection of wines and champagnes too! There’s a quaint little outdoor patio towards the back that is connected to their parking lot.
