Great afternoon bar; everyone knows each other; lots of conversation … From another source(HoustonPress): This bar’s sign, complete with the classic image of a pool player about to break, beckons from a lonely stretch of Fairbanks-North Houston Road. Despite its forlorn location, the hazy 510 is full of chatty regulars, most of whom will introduce themselves in short order. The corner stage hosts a rolling karaōke night, shuffleboard is free, and friendly challenges for the video bowling machine are commonplace. Brews are cheap and cold, and a pair of pool tables awaits those drawn in by that sign. Bustling even on a Tuesday night, 510 Bar feels a bit like a small town, because it almost is a small town.

There are«dive bars,» and then there are actual dive bars. This is a dive bar. It is 100% local and down to earth. There is no décor to speak of. Just a small bar, some assorted tables and chairs, and a coin operated pool table. You’d probably get a strange look ordering anything other than beer or whiskey. Used to come up here frequently to get away from the troubles of the corporate boot camp with friends. Always had fun. There is a little stage where some live music was going on sometimes, don’t know if they have a schedule.
