I am simultaneously shocked at the high prices and great reviews for Alonti. The box lunches are fine: there’s a cookie, chips, and a decent sandwich. I’ve had this three different times, and would suggest the«Tiger» sandwich over any of the other combinations. If you are a catering an event, I would look elsewhere. For $ 7 – 8, I would be pleased with the value. At nearly double the price, the food is really generic. I doubt that your attendees will notice any quality drop if you switch to a cheaper alternative.

RIPOFFALERT! 2 small cartons of green beans, 2 bottles of water, 1 juice and a brownie… over 20 dollars! I asked for a couple packs of crackers, sure the lady says I’ll charge you for them. Stop by if you like giving your money away, as for me no thank you!

Love Alonti’s! Hands down my favorite lunch spot in the medical center! Salads are amazing and fresh. They will make personalized salads when you order at the sandwhich station(I.e. I always request extra avacado on my Cobb). Their Mac N Cheese takes the win!!! If they have it, I have to get it. Almost as good as my homemade smoked mac just saves me the time and effort. Warning: mac n cheese is seasonal!!! Today is the first time They’ve made it since last spring/summer. Sandwiches are delicious as well. Never there in time to try breakfast.

Alonti catered an event and I was able to reap some of the spoils… aka leftovers. The box was marked Pepper Jack Pressata… whatever that means. I started by gobbling up the soft and fresh chocolate chocolate chip cookie. Then I unwrapped what I thought would be some typical sandwich and found … i’m not sure. According to their website it is «Pepper Jack Chicken, bacon, roasted red peppers, pepper jack cheese, ancho mayonnaise»… all I know is that it’s pretty darn tasty at room temperature and likely 2 – 3 hours old at this point. I imagine it was pretty awesome when it was fresh. My box also contains a bag a chips that I’ll save for later and a chocolate mint. What a nice touch! This is a quality catering box and I look forward to finding more leftover Alonti boxes laying around the office in the future!

Alonti is the most expensive and best cafeteria in the medical center. By best I mean they use the freshest traditional ingredients. Their desserts are made of real ingredients(try the lemon bars!) There’s not a lot of variety to the cooked food menu, though it is flavored well without any chemical tastes. The salad bar doesn’t change from day to day and has more variety of quality Items than most salad bar places. The salad bar and hot food buffet is sold together by weight so you can mix and match as much as you like on a single plate. A meal for me usually costs $ 7 – 10. Alonti is the place for someone who is willing to pay a bit more well flavored, fresh, quality foods(including veggies) and who Is just looking for a decent lunch. If you are happy with boiled and buttered mixed veggies, low quality saline-Injected meat slathered in barbecue sauce and mashed potatoes, go to the cheaper hospital cafeteria.

woohoo! I love that we have an Alonti in Smith Tower because I am such a huge fan of their honey lime vinaigrette; that stuff is absolutely amazing on a salad. I love that you can make your own salad your way OR you can choose to have one made as well. The girls in the office are always ranting and raving about their Tequila Chicken pasta which looks and smells good. They have other offerings too such as mac & cheese, roasted chicken etc… They also make a killer cobbler; I love their blackberry one the best. In my opinion it is a little pricey, but it’s rather worth it plus it’s not like your getting a scant amount of food either.

If you’ve recently been released from prison or otherwise have low expectations for food then Alonti is for you. Think of it like Walmart/Sysco cheap-to-make for them but just as expensive for you to buy as real food elsewhere. Go elsewhere.

Love/hate the place — decent food. It’s already expensive and then randomly I’ll get charged extra for dressing for a pre-made salad. Shouldn’t dressing be included? 713−796−0122 is the number to call for their hot bar specials of the day.

I am now committed to only eating here when I’m in the medical center… I LOVE the mashed potatoes, pasta salad and the to-go salad section. The mashed potatoes are clearly made with a bunch of cream and chives and the pasta salad has pecans and pesto-y goodness. It always has a decent crowd and the only negative is it is actually quite pricey when you start weighing the food. At the end of the day, the quality and taste of this food is my favorite within walking distance…

Several options for lunch: salad bar, buffet line, made to order sandwiches, and smoothies. I highly recommend the brisket, chicken enchiladas(kind of sweet tasting), and bacon/cheese mashed potatoes on the buffet line. I recommend the club sandwich and the peanut butter/banana/chocolate smoothie. Kind of pricey($ 9 – 13) for lunch but quick. I go here about once a week.

Since, I’ve been working at the hospital, I’ve been bringing my lunch more and more since it’s getting expensive to eat out, however, every once in awhile I still enjoy going out and splurging. Alonti gives me a quic fast and not too expensive option. Recently I had the California club and it was so good. It was packed with turkey, had bacon, and just the right amount of avocado. It’s one of my go to spots if I want to eat out and want something good but affordable.

Initially this was going to be a 1 star review for the catering which arrived late to a meeting I was hosting and also had pasta salads(gross) when I ordered fruit cups for the lunch boxes. However, they know how to keep a customer. They called me and delivered a fruit platter the next day(they do a lot of business the law school). Bottom line: Great customer service when they make a mistake, but not a small possibility of making a mistake in the first place. Also pretty good food & a reasonable delivery fee.

There is nothing either great or terrible about Alonti inside Methodist hospital. It is a decent choice… when there are no other options!!! I really like their cookies and chips.

Decent salad bar. Conveniently located near Methodist. A bit pricy though.
