Anh’s Tailor & Alterations

It’s the night of my wedding reception and instead of kissing my husband, I’m in bed thinking about how awesome my dress was thanks to Anh. I brought her a dress that was too large that I purchased offline and she worked her magic to make it fit my petite frame beautifully. I’m forever grateful. She was a joy to work with and even stayed open late for me on the day we met because I couldn’t find her place of business. I’m all over the place with this review but anytime I need anything tailored, I will come here.

After moving into the area more than five years ago, my husband and I were still making the drive to SW Houston to get our clothes altered until he stumbled upon Anh’s Tailor which is down the street from our home. Anh is meticulous when it comes to her work — and it is not just work, it’s her craft. She can alter anything you bring her — my husband has trimmed down over the years and instead of buying new clothes — she’s fixed his jeans, pants, and even t-​shirts to perfection. She will ask you when you want it ready and without fail, it is completed by said date. Her prices are very affordable too.

Always does a good job. Have referred many friends who have all been pleased with the work. Reasonable prices and quick turn around in emergency.

What was done: taking in, hemming, pockets
My aunt suggested Anh when I was looking for someone who could alter my bridesmaid dress (it was a nice satin strapless David’s Bridal dress with lining). When I walked in, it looked empty, but she was just working in the back. The fitting was quick and easy, but when I came back to pick it up, it was too small! I think the problem was that I hadn’t hooked the back of the dress when I was fitted the first time. She let out the dress (at no extra cost), and when I came back, it fit perfectly. It was maybe $ 80~ for taking in and hemming and an extra $ 15 for her to recreate the pockets.
My mom had a few of her things altered, and she hasn’t complained. I also see plenty of other customers coming and going, so she seems to be reliable judging by her pretty consistent flow of customers. I’m on the fence about the stars, because I’m not sure whose fault it is that the dress didn’t fit after the first fitting (my weight didn’t change? I don’t think?). I liked her in general and she did good work in the end.
