While passing through we decided to check them. We ordered chicken shawarma wrap, which came with good amount potato fries and was good. However, they should install a flat screen to keep customer occupied while waiting on order. Alternatively, play some music to create an ambiance and to muffle sound coming out of kitchen.

We were headed to try Guy’s Meat Market for lunch, but when we arrived, it was closed. While we were disappointed, that quickly changed when we decided to try this place. We both love and eat Mediterranean food quite frequently so when we try someplace new, I’m always a little apprehensive. Will this live up to the places we know and love? Turns out, it did. The person behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived quickly and it was delicious. We both had the kofta kabob plate which comes with two sides. I had a nice fattoush salad with rice as my side and the hubby had hummus and rice. Everything was flavorful. The owner came over to make sure everything was ok. If we hadn’t been in a rush, we would have tried their homemade baklava. That’s another reason we’ll definitely be back.

It was my first time eating at this establishment and I was not let down. I ordered the chicken tawook. The chicken is marinated for 24 hours in a special mustard sauce. It was delish

So, I parked in the Subway parking lot next door, saw this and thought, «Hey, this looks interesting!» And so I walked next door… And wished I hadn’t. There was nothing really good about this: the guy behind the counter wasn’t friendly, didn’t explain anything and didn’t really seem to care whether I ordered anything or not. And when the shawarma came out, it was in a bag, and the guy just tossed it onto the table(even though I said I’d be eating in). And the shawarma itself was a skinny little thing, with more tomatoes than meat, and with a barely-lukewarm pita around it. With a drink, it was $ 10.80… definitely NOT worth it! I wish I would’ve gone to Subway!

Quaint lil place nearby the casa… After having sooo much fantastic Mediterranean food I was a bit sad this place didn’t live up to expectations. The pita was extremely gritty tasted a bit stale, the food was good and service very good. Just wish it was more memorable.

Tasty kabab as my first time having it:) Tabbouleh was wonderful:)) Over all food is good, but not to remarkable. I will try the half chicken next time^^ Staff was really nice and friendly. Like to have this business keep staying around the community:)

Basha is conveniently located within walking distance from the VA hospital, but there is better Turkish/Middle Eastern food both in value and in taste if driving is an option. Positives: I loved that the baba ghanoush was chunkier than the mush I often encounter. The lamb kebab was also quite tender and not too gamey. Negatives: Unfortunately, the hummus was a bit bland(although the thick texture was lovely). The cold pita also put a bit of a damper on the meal. Furthermore, for a place with no ambiance, I was surprised that the portions were on the smaller side, although you are unlikely to leave hungry.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn’t too much of a surprise that it was empty. We ordered the beef shawarma, a side of babaganoush and the beef shish kabob plate. The shawarma was a supreme disappointment. The meat tasted old and not seasoned properly. The babaganoush was very good and the beef plate was okay but the beef was overcooked. The owner gave us one extra side on the plate but that’s where the service ended. Even though we were the only customers, we had to ask for water and then he only brought 2 when we’re a party of 3… He didn’t want to be bothered as he was in a corner table working away with documents. Oh well. Won’t be returning. M&m grill a block away is tons better

Not a good experience. Pita bread was cold. Hummus so so. Meat was hard. Tabbouleh was good. Small portions for what you pay. Service was deficient. I was never asked if I was ok or if needed something. Cashier on his phone during service. Staff hanging out in front of the stablisment with the cook upon arrival. Tables dirty and with dishes. I heard the cook spit in the kitchen. I will not be returning.

A great spot for mediterranean food in medical center area. I ordered the half grilled chicken which is amazing. The meat is tender and juicy with crispy skin. I chose hummus and salad for my two sides. Both are really good. And the price is also very reasonable. Definitely give this place a try if you live in the area.

Ate here with family after a day at the Zoo. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We had the falafel and grape leaves as appetizers. Both were really good. Some of the better grape leaves I’ve had before. Very flavorful! They have pink lemonade that is sweetened with rose water. I’m not a fan of lemonade, but this was really good and uniquely flavored. So much so that I ended up ordering one as well instead of my usual water. For entrees we had the kofta kabob platter, lamb kabob platter, and a lamb? sandwich. The meat was all perfectly cooked and flavorful. The rice, hummus, babaganoush(?), and tabouli were all really good as well. And to top it off, we got baklava to go… which was by far the best I have ever had. It too is sweetened with rose water, rather than the typical honey. This was definitely a great find and certainly worth revisiting!

Staying in Medical Center for the past two weeks my husband surprised me with a hummus and pita bread. The hummus was so very fresh, but it was lacking in lemon, salt and a bit of water to thin it out and perhaps, a touch of cumin, but still delicious. His chicken sharwama was absolutely perfect! Pretty near the best sharwama in Houston? We will be back. I love Mid Eastern and good Mid Eastern food at that, so I know we will be returning and spreading the word about their menu. My husband said the men behind the counter were exceptionally nice and friendly.

For my nonyelper friends they didn’t expect much about this hole in the wall but we were pleasantly surprised that the food was good. The chicken tawoo kabob was so moist. I wish they gave more pieces of it. They didn’t haven’t the tabouli so I ended up with double babaganoush.(note: the sides menu say bobagounoush but I think it’s misspelled) The babaganoush is a little on the sour side but I still ate all of it with the pita bread that’s complimentary. You can request to get the bread warmed as it doesn’t taste as good when it’s cold(how they delivered it) The beef kabob was a little on the tough side. If it were only tender it would have passed since the flavors are great. The LAMB however was very excellent. It was well seasoned, well cooked and almost melted in my mouth. Just almost. The HUMMUS was one of the best hummus I’ve had in houston. So get the chicken, lamb and hummus and your tummy will be happy! They took a long time to give us water so I’d rate food as 4 stars with a 1 star reduction for service. It wasn’t even busy yet we asked several times about water.

The servings are generous, and the hummus is garlicky and sour, just like I like it! The food took too long considering it was just the vegetarian platter, but the food was good and the complimentary lentil soup(salty, generic) made the wait more bearable. Good, good, would return!

Very nice establishment. The food smells, looks, and taste amazing. They take true pride in the quality of the food they serve. They also have a great $ 5.99 lunch special. All of the desserts are amazing and authentic! Absolutely the best.

Staff: Excellent! Attentive, helpful, and accommodating. Location: Lacking parking. We had to park next door at the Subway lot. Interior: Crammed, but clean. Prices: Not worth the quality. Food: My pita bread was cold. My ketchup packets had mold. My rice tasted like chlorinated water. BUT the garlic dip was the best I’ve had anywhere. The hummus was the best consistency. The pickled veggies were perfectly pickled. The kabob meat was cooked well and the french fries were soft and fluffy. ALSO, the water from the filter tasted great!(Not many places can attest to that.) The staff was pushy on every customer trying to get them to buy the Kofta platter but I also observed them greet several regulars whose orders they knew by heart. That is why I gave Basha Kabab 3-stars versus 2. The customer service was exemplary. It was my first-time visiting, and I’m going to leave it at that. Gyro King’s truck across the street is more my style.

Worst experience for Mediterranean food. Went there twice, first time was ok, service was terrible: they don’t know what you ordered, mix orders, delay orders… Second time was horrific: I ordered Kafka kabab. It was raw from the inside. Told the owner, gave me another one: it was also raw ! Also worthwhile mentioning that I ordered first in my group and for the food 10 minutes after the last…

I ordered the beef schwarma with tabbouleh and babaganouj to go. The schwarma tasted fine, but wasn’t wrapped up like they normally are. The babaganouj tasted like regular hummus. Nothing major to complain nor rave about.

A new Mediterranean place in the neighborhood for the med center crowd! This is a great place to get a to-go lunch or to eat in. They also have box lunches for catering I believe. The bf and I came for a quick lunch on a weekday, and it was fairly empty. The man behind the counter took the time to explain to us what items were on the menu, which I appreciated. We ordered the kofta kebab plate with hummus and Greek salad, and I was really surprised at how fresh and tasty it was! The whole plate was super colorful, and the portions were pretty big. I’ll definitely be back again to try their other menu items. They have entrée plates as well as pita sandwiches, and all kinds of kebabs. When I came here, it felt like a family run business whose owners really cared about the food they were serving, and I’d love to continue supporting them :).
