Please learn from my mistakes and order a custom ice cream online. There are way more ice cream flavors, and cake choices online than in-store. The best part is 24 hour notice and cakes are ready next day. Traditional idea, but yet different. I waited to the last minute to buy an ice cream cake and I had to purchase a pre-made cake, which varied in styles and prices. The cake I purchased was very pretty, and the individual loved it so much, he ate two slices. I tend to forget about their ice creams cakes, but unlike some ice cream parlors, Baskin Robbins ice cream cakes are half ice cream and half cake which is better than paying $ 40 for ice cream formed into a cake.

So this is just a review for the Ice Cream cake… We stopped in last minute to grab an ice cream cake for a work appreciation event. They had multiple choices in regards to both flavor and size which was quite nice. We went with the 8 – 12 size and I think it was about $ 30. Little pricey in my mind, but it was a delicious treat. Despite how small the cake looked it was clearly plenty for the 10 or so of us in the office as I found about a piece leftover in the freezer the next day. I wouldn’t get one of these every time you need a cake, but it makes for a unique experience every once in a while.

I give this place 5 stars for the actual dessert But 1 star for the awful people that work there. You would think that someone working at an ice cream parlor would be chipper and friendly… But I have never experienced such a thing at this establishment. Every person I have encountered here has been so dull and rude frankly. No smiles, no energy, nothing. So disturbing to the extent that I CHOOSE to go to the one on Bellaire because their workers are much more friendly… Sigh.

Now, don’t get me wrong: I have been going to B&R since I was about 10 years old, which was in the mid 1960’s. And their ice creams and their selection have always been good. My problem is that I am lactose intolerant, so my favorite flavors have always been their ‘ice’s’. Well, when I was 10, the local B&R(in Tucson, AZ) had Grapefruit Ice and Daiquiri Ice. Apparently, Daiquiri Ice has long been a favorite, because it is still there at all locations. But, my problem is, they have discontinued all of their«ice» flavors, with the exception of a very few, and I would like to see them come back — especially the citrus flavors: lime ice, mandarin orange ice; grapefruit ice; raspberry sorbet(ice), etc. C’mon, B&R: have a heart for us lactose intolerant people. The prices have gone up a lot since I first started going there, and going to B&R is a treat. Just give those of us who can’t eat dairy-based products a break!(Please???)

I seriously do not understand how anyone can rate this place anything less than 5 stars. If you don’t love this place, it is highly unlikely that we can be friends. I’m sorry. No I’m not. You’re crazy. I don’t even know how to start talking about the ice cream. Basically, it is heaven and highly addicting, it’s kind of scary. I have been here many times as a kid and as an adult(–ish), and I have never been disappointed. Obviously, the delicious waffle cone is a must. I will continue to come back to this location and force my roommate to come with me so that I don’t feel guilty until it closes, which will never happen. Also, they give a Rice student discount if you show your ID at the register.

Ice cream is my Achilles heel, gateway dessert, and favorite food. It’s hard to disappoint me when it comes to ice cream, but I can’t say I’ve loved every ice cream joint I’ve tried. BR has been fantastic both times I’ve gone. Honestly, I can’t believe I’ve only recently started visiting BR for ice cream(probably because I know I’ll start a dessert binge once I’ve had a taste…), but I’m so glad I have! The place is small, but the service and ice cream quality are on point. I’ve taken advantage of their double scoop + free waffle cone deal, and during my last visit, the lady behind the counter gave me a chocolate dipped + sprinkles waffle cone with no extra charge since they ran out of regular waffle cones. I will admit; the BR-deprived child in me squealed in delight. Rice kiddos, don’t forget to use your discount here!

31 flavors to choose from, I sometimes wished I had 31 stomachs to try them all out! Even though it’s cold outside today, any day is a good day for ice cream! Just stuck with the classics like strawberry and cookies’n’cream. As good as Bluebell? No. But BR still makes us happy, even if their tables and chairs are still dinky

Growing up, we had Baskin Robbins and TCBY. Then along came numerous other shops that appealed because they were new and different. But Baskin Robbins has returned to my top choice among ice cream stores. You can get all of the favorite classic flavors and seemingly any of the newer combinations, like coffee-flavored drinks. Their ice cream just tastes consistently great, and their ice cream cakes are the best. And you can’t get Baskin Robbins at the grocery store!!!

Dear Ice Cream Cake, Why must you taste so good that I keep coming back for more? Why can’t you just tell me no more or I’m not in the mood. Why must you make me hate myself in the morning afterwards and go back to the gym with a vengeance. Sincerely, Amit

I love ice cream!!! I grew up with Baskin Robbins. This and TCBY were the places to grab something sweet as a child. Now there are plenty of trendy dessert places but nothing beats a classic. Recently I got a classic ice cream cake from here, chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Simple yet O SOGOOD!!! KISS(Keep It Simple Stupid)
