Bear Creek Roller Rink

I skate a lot, not always at Bear Creek though. Last night was really fun. Took my son as usual and we were there 2 ½ hours.
Overall it was a good experience. My 1 issue and it’s a deal breaker for me and has been mentioned before.
I asked the price at the snack bar to buy a tall glass of water. I was told he wasn’t allowed to sell it. No one was.
I explained that I am on a strict diet and I understand and I’ll pay you the going rate for soda and he told me he still wasn’t allowed. He did end up giving me one which I offered to pay for and he told me don’t worry about it. But reminded me that this was the only time it would happen.
After I finished that glass to prevent another issue I refilled it at their drinking fountain. Oh my was that gross, and the water was dis colored.
Hard for me to believe that it’s safe.
My question is why? You should have to provide clean healthy water to people who are participating in a sport. Roller Skating is a sport and causes dehydration, dehydration causes injuries.
If it’s a money thing then sell bottled water (none available and vending machine was out)
Or sell it from your fountain machine. $ 1.00 a glass would be fair.
I ended up buying a Powerade from vending machine, which still isn’t great for you but is better than soda.
I really can’t imagine that forcing everyone to drink soda is really making more money for you and it offends people who are trying to make health conscious decisions.
I won’t be back until that’s fixed. I’ll go to Dairy Ashford which to be honest has a better skating floor any how.
How silly to lose a family of frequent skaters because of ice water.
By the way, down 40 lbs in 3 months just by giving up Soda for water and Roller skating.
Ugh.
They even have a cut out in the entrance showing how healthy skating is. News flash, not if your dehydrated, which soda also contributes to.

This was an ok place to take the kids to blow off some energy. The customer service is better than what is stated in some of the reviews. I know that my son truly enjoyed himself and is waiting to return. So I have put this on our itinerary for the summer.

This is a good stop, reminds of when my brother and cousins would go to roller rink as kids. Prices are fair. The only thing they should change is being able to accept credit cards for food. I am sure they would get a lot more business if they do so. They do accept cars to pay at entrance and rent skates.

They hand out roller blades as a first choice for kids that might not go skating often. Blades are harder for beginners if there isn’t enough ankle strength to stabilize the ankle joint. Only pass out blades if someone ask for them.
The floor looks nice But by far it’s the worst surface I have ever skated on. It has a lot of bumps on it which make it easy to lose your balance and fall. When skating that is the most important thing «THE SKATING SURFACE». Smooth concrete is the best.

I love this place. Summer skate sessions are busy with daycare but reasonably priced for young kids to do during the day. Great interior, very colorful lights and carpet. The owners are very sweet and helpful, the birthday parties go smoothly.

Horrible skating rink, do not trust the owner or staff to create a safe place for you or your children to skate! I attended a birthday party on a Friday night and was shocked by how little the staff cared about skaters not following the rules. There were multiple kids using cell phones while skating, children consuming food and drinks while skating and children crawling around on the rink floor and not a single staff member or rink attendant in sight to stop this behavior. I voiced my concerns to management and was told that these were common complaints by many adult customers, but they still have not taken proper steps to ensure everyone’s safety.
Rink floor is a sport court floor which can be difficult for beginner skaters and they do not have walkers for young children learning how to skate.
I would not recommend this rink to anybody who is looking for a safe and fun skating experience.

Horrible! The staff lacks leadership and support from management. My daughter and I went to the food counter to place an order. She ordered pizza. The clerk replied, «We don’t have any.» So she ordered a hot dog. Again the clerk replied, «We don’t have any.» Then my daughter said, «That’s fine. I’ll just have a lemonade.» The clerk replied, «We don’t have any.» At that point I noticed that the water fountain had an «Out of Order» sign on it. Finally she ordered frozen strawberry drink. And you guessed it” The clerk said they didn’t have any. She asked the clerk, «What do you have? The clerk just looked at her and said sorry. The clerk was clearly embarrassed. My daughter is only 8 and it didn’t take her very long to figure out something was not quite right. So I asked why didn’t you tell us before we paid and got in here that you were out of food & beverages. I hope they get this issue taken care of. Its a big safety concern for children to be exercising and then have nothing to drink. I’m not sure if they allow you to bring your own food and drink. If that’s the case make sure you bring something for the kiddos. Maybe best just to go somewhere else. I will!

I went to this place saturday, disgusting, dirty, smelly, just nasty!!! I visited this location because i had no other choice but Will never come back, dirty skates, dirty carpet just everything is so guetto!!! I do not recommend this place, business making money and not investing in cleaning this place, or at least give it it a makeover

I don’t usually write reviews but I had the worst experience at this place. Just as my girls began to enjoy themselves, we hear an announcement that we are closing. My children got to skate for less than 30 minutes. They obviously close at 4:30 and reopen at 6. Would have loved to have been told prior to paying. There response was if you came in 5 min before closing I would have charged you and there was a family that payed for 5 min. I will never come back and they need a lesson on customer service. Lol, totally reminded me of when I was a kid and rollerskating was one of the coolest things to do. If you live in the area, it’s a good place to have a little kiddy fun.
Went in for a birthday party. There isn’t birthday rooms but they do set up tables and there is one section in the corner that they use for bigger parties — like the one I was at. There is a hostess that helps organize — ordering food, drinks, and setting up cake. If you have it for two hours — they will boot you out so be prepared.
The girl hostess was pretty awesome. She didn’t miss a beat. The kids seemed to have a great time. And at the end of it all, my cousin said it was pretty reasonable in pricing.
Be prepared for wandering children, girls in sketchy attire, and the smell of sweat. The restrooms are funny — toilet paper is on a chain — yes a chain. The sinks are outside the restroom.

REALLY hot. No music requests. No wood floor. Smell was terrible. And did I mention how hot it was? We only stayed for 20 minutes because it was so hot. Very disappointing.

I’ve been to Bear Creek Roller Rink many times since my daughter started school. I remember roller skating a lot when I was a kid and apparently it is still pretty popular. The elementary school even does skate nights here during the year.
The first time we went I thought I would be able to sit out and visit with the other parents at the birthday party. Alas, my daughter wanted me to put on roller skates and get out on the floor with her. I thought she would be embarrassed to skate with her mom but she still wanted me by her side as she steadied herself on the rental skates.
As kids zoomed by (because now kids are so used to skating as they have wheels in their shoes), I held my daughter’s hand and helped her make her way around the circle. Just as we were making it back to the safety of the carpeted area, she lost her balance and fell — dragging me down with her. I was afraid she would give up but she didn’t — she wanted to make another circle.
We went around like this as her confidence grew and she started to get used to the wheels on her feet. She never let go of me though. By the time it was gift opening and cake o’clock, my daughter had mastered the basics of skating along side me although she didn’t join in the games the employees started on the floor.
I enjoy going to Bear Creek Roller Rink. I had a lot of fun here with my daughter and it brought back a lot of memories of hanging out at the skating rink from when I was much younger. I left with some sizable bruises from falling but it was a special time with my daughter that will always mean a lot to both of us.

Yes, another skating rink review not because I don’t have a job like some of you Unilocalers think, but because I am trying out for the Houston Roller Derby. So there!
Probably the best thing about this roller rink is that there are plenty of seats, the concession stand has the best variety in food, and the music is good. But, I don’t come to a skating rink for the food and music.
The rink floor here is strange. You know those huge foam puzzle pieces parents put on the floor for their kids? Substitute the foam for plastic, and there you have the rink floor at the Bear Creek Roller Rink. Not only is it hard to skate on, it’s slippery as hell. I don’t usually fall, even when I first started skating again after so many years, but I’ve fallen here. On the plus side, the floor looks nice because the black light around the rink gives it a nice glow, but again, be prepared to get a closer look of the floor than you want to. On the plus side, there are a few jam-​skaters (skaters that dance on skates) that practice here, so it’s fun to watch.
