Best Donuts

Great doughnut shop. Not only do they have doughnuts, but a number of other breakfast options like breakfast biscuits sandwiches, breakfast croissant sandwiches, kolaches… The people that work there are always very friendly.

I love this little doughnut shop. It’s family owned and operated. The ladies behind the counter always have a smile on their face and are ready to help you with you picks.
I usually get a kolache and 1 glazed donut and my food has consistently been fresh and yummy. The kolache crust is perfectly baked while accompanying sausage is real, quality meat. The doughnut is always light, airy and neatly glazed.
This past time around I also ordered a small cup of coffee. For $.65 it was actually pretty decent!

Apple fritters are delicious –a must try. Donuts are way better than most other donut chains. Buttermilk donuts are creamy. I can eat a whole dozen.

This place knows doughnuts! I’m a huge fan. This is now the 3^rd doughnut place I’ve tested out in Houston (which excludes Shipley’s and Dunkin Donuts) and I’ve gotta say, the doughnuts here are excellent. They serve multiple kinds of doughnut-​bases — the fluffy, the cake, and the buttermilk-​cake. My favorite is definitely the buttermilk-​variety. You can tell they’re fresh because of the crunch from when it was fried earlier that morning. Glaze on the doughnuts are not overwhelming and not too sugary which is excellent for my taste. They’ve got a variety of each type of doughnut with sprinkles, chocolate frosting and also had some apple-​fritters that I saw but I didn’t get a chance to try them on this visit. I only came to pick up a few doughnuts, but for a Sunday morning, they seemed super busy with plenty of sitting area for families and others to sit down and enjoy their fried-​goodness with coffee and other drinks. I was definitely holding up the line because I wasn’t sure what doughnuts I wanted! I’m totally coming back to this place! They also threw in several extra donut holes that I didn’t even order into my box, what a surprise!

This is our little donut spit. It’s near the house in a very convenient location. This is a family owned business, & the people that I have interacted with on my visits are very pleasant. They are usually busy, but they work together in a quick, but efficient matter to get the customers in and out.
Our favorites are the kolaches with no cheese, the glazed donuts, the donut holes, & the frosted donuts (for my daughter). The items are always fresh when I get them. Finally, their prices are very reasonable.

I work at a liquor store on this shopping strip. and I can say I frequent this place for my breakfast whenever I possibly can. Donuts are always hot and fresh, cooked perfectly. I love the croissants and jalapeño kolaches here! Sure I could stop by MCD or whataburger on the way to work, but I find that my meals are usually cheaper, higher quality, and more variety when I decide to come to this fine establishment. As mentioned by others, the people that run this place are great people as well.

The name says it all. My son picked Best Donuts over Crave Cupcakes. This a hidden treasure.

My family and I always grab donut holes and kolaches from this establishment. They are friendly, family owned, and close to home! There are always smiling faces, prompt service, and hot and fresh donuts. What more could you ask for in a donut shop? I plan on going here on my «cheat» days, but right now I’m trying too lay off the bread.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and they continue to be the best donuts i’ve ever had! Also have a great selection of breakfast croissants. My fave are the strawberry cake donuts.

I went here for the first time a week ago and went back again today. The donuts were as good as the first time. Consistency is the key and their donuts were as good as the first time.
The place is clean and very well maintained. The staff is friendly. yAlso, the shop is in a location which is very safe. This is not a cheap donuts shop in the middle of the ghetto. Take your kids there and you will be just fine.
Also, minimum credit card charge has to be five dollars. I had to get extra donuts the first time I was there and that turned out just fine.

Best donuts anywhere! Love the classic glazed and sprinkles! Delish! They are always nice, and since they are so busy they donuts are always fresh!

Delicious donuts at a fantastic price. I’ve gone several times later in the day, so I have never tried a fresh one, but reheated they taste just as great or better than Krispy Kreme. I like the size I their donut holes (my girls love them) and how friendly the staff is. Once my 3yo dropped her donut and the lady working have her another one at no charge. Family friendly and clean location too!

Best kolache I’ve ever had, hands down! I always get the large kolache. Not a big fan of doughnuts so I can’t speak for those.

a simple family owned neighborhood donut shop with freshly made goods & very polite & friendly staff… they have a great variety of donuts, kolaches, crescents, and even breakfast burritos & sandwiches… I really recommend the boudain kolaches! It’s amazing & I believe I’ve never found anything quite like it anywhere else in town :9

I’m not a big donut person. So I can’t really rate it on donuts. My 5 stars is for the kolaches. I’m lactose intolerant, and there are some kolaches that ground everything together (like kolache factory). I love there kolaches bc the outside breading is made just like a roll!!! It’s super fluffy and moist and isn’t dry. The cheese sausage kolaches are made with cheese filled little smokies! The breading is what makes this so great! I literally bought one, went home to get more money came back an bought 4 more just for myself!

Some weekends breakfast ain’t just breakfast without a croissant a acup of strong espresso or coffee, so since this place is in the neighborhood and less than 5 mins a way, it works when i actually wanna sit at home on my patio and pretend i’m in Paris amongst the wrought iron and ivy… or was much as you can in 90 percent humidity…
Honestly i haven’t had anything bad at this place. the croissants are pretty good and fresh, I love apple fritters and this is one of the few places that makes a good ones, and miles better than Dunkin’ … the kolaches are good too as well as the donuts. I’ve been there crack of dawn early, and later in the day and it’s been pretty consistent, but the croissants and apple fritters are a welcome addition to the weekend routine…

Love this place, nice folks and great food.
Kolache’s and donuts are my favorite in Houston, never tried the breakfast tacos though.
The small sausage, cheese and jalepeno kolache is awesome.
The only bad thing is they don’t take credit cards for under $ 5 and I don’t always have cash!

After sampling a couple Shipley’s I never thought I’d find a decent donut shop in Houston, especially an independently-​owned one. Oh Donut Man, how I miss you! But Best Donuts isn’t bad at all. Their products are inexpensive and well-​fried, as in, they’re properly cooked and don’t leave that greasy film in your mouth. If I were less careful with my money, I’d probably come here every Friday to buy donuts for the office simply for the excuse of selecting a large assortment of treats.
It may not be worth a special trip, but if you’ve got to buy a box of donuts this is probably your best bet in the area.
