I like Big Lots in general for items you need to get without going to the«bigger» stores, laundry, cleaning stuff. They also are a good place to check in on when changing or adding to your décor, office or home. Their stuff is inexpensive and up with the trends. They even sale various furniture items. Which is about the same quality you would find at Walmart for sometimes cheaper. Nothing that will last multiple moves or pass down between generations, but good if your gonna be in your place for a few years and not move the stuff around.

Great place to get cheap cleaning supplies/paper products, toys, snacks, or random household items. On my last visit I went in for one item(storage bins), and wound up dropping a Grant on my trip, but it was all stuff I needed for around the house. Overall, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and can help you find things. I even scored a sweet deal on an item(DayQuil) that was lacking a tag; the cashier rang it up for a smaller package that had a tag. I have never seen expired or «bad» items here before, but they are sometimes clearance items from drug stores.

My husband wanted to buy some inexpensive comforters to cover our trees during a freeze. The cashier, Tiffany was so warm and personable. When we told her what we were doing she said, I can save you so money. She took us to a clearance aisle and helped us save $ 10 on our purchase. When in line again she was laughing and smiling with each customer, even the grumpy ones. It was a joy to see such a bubbly person working in sales. She should get a raise.

This place is very cluttered and unorganized. Though the cashiers are extremely friendly it’s really hard to find what your looking for when the aisle says a certain thing should be in that aisle and its not, it’s in 2 aisles over. Though they do have really good prices and I love the coupons that get sent to my email. They also have a reward card which helps out a lot if you shop there a lot, which I don’t. But I will remember this place when I am in a hurry for quick household items.

No Fans Shaped Like Toilet Seats to be Found Here Going to the Big Lots in a down-at-heel section in the shadow of Houston’s Heights may not sound like your idea of a good time on a Saturday afternoon, but for this Unilocaler, who’s a champion cheapskate, it’s like running riot in Sharper Image. I’m sure that Sharper Image has one of those fans that blows sweet, cold air like a blue Norther. The fan is shaped like a toilet seat, and you’ll get shook down for over $ 400 for it. Bed, Bath, and Beyond has one of those, and I’m sure Sharper Image does, too. If you’ve got $ 400 to blow on a fan, run your air conditioner ten degrees colder, or show your wife a good time, for Chrissakes. Me, I’m skipping out on Bed, Bath, and Beyond Common Sense AND Sharper Image and headed to Big Lots. Big Lots has stuff ordinary people need, walls and walls and walls of it, and cheap. You say you’re a contractor, and there’s one hell of a big mess at the construction site. Big Lots carries«Heavy Duty Contractor Clean-Up Bags,» twenty count. Price? $ 7.50, including twist ties. It’s your lucky day, contractor! At Big Lots, it’s everyone’s lucky day! From Chef-Boyardee to Cuisinart, Spaghetti-O’s to flat screens, Big Lots is the consumer’s best friend. Staff is friendly to the point of bending over backwards to show you where the Comet is(like I said, Big Lots is jam-packed, and if you stick around too long, you run the risk of an economy-sized paper goods overload seizure. Plan your trip accordingly.) Furthermore, they seem like the type who’ll call you«mijo.» If you plan right, Big Lots is plain old get in and get out big savings satisfaction. And I defy you not to sing«Uh-oh, Spaghetti-O’s» when you spot them en route to the Spam. Did I say Five Stars? Make it 55678908765.

This used to be my most favorite Big Lots out of all in Houston. I love the selection, the prices here. You can pretty much find anything here for around 30% cheaper than you can anywhere else. Indoor furniture, canopys, toys, candies, house hold necessities, kitchen ware, bedding, electronics. It is like a micro Walmart also with the long lines at various times. I’ve been coming here since circa 1998 and on my recent visits seems to be going south, maybe I’m coming at the wrong times? I still will always have memories here of me pacing up and down the isles killing time before going to the dollar store and repeating the same.

This Big Lots is packed with several things, but it’s so disorganized and the employees are usually moody. If you ask them to help you find something, they rarely know where anything is and they seem annoyed that you ask. If they would have better attitudes, I would give them an extra star, but I’ve been there 3 or 4 times over the last few months and I have not seen improvement yet.

3.5 stars… I come here occasionally when I’m looking for something random and I know that no where else will have it. They have a huge variety of normal as well as strange things at seriously low prices. The lines at the checkout are always long though– no matter what time of day you go.

If you’re FRUGAL and you know it, clap your hands… clap clap I love Big Lots… just because I can :) I always find good deals so why pay 2x the price somwhere else when I can get it here for cheap. On this excursion, I found an $ 8 shoe rack for my closet along with a set for $ 8 that consisted of a paper towel holder, napkin holder and 3 trivets. And they actually have a Big Lots«card» where if you spend xx amount of dollars, you can get discounts… wow…lmao I’ve found some good deals here in the past and eyed a cute rug set for $ 59…so will prob be back soon to get it… Two thumbs up baby

I don’t come here that often except when I don’t have time to go to Target. Not that their stuff is as nice as Target’s, but they still have household things(like the hangers I needed). The store is kinda messy and the wait at checkout can be long, but I am still thankful that it is there when I need it.
