Bistro Bar has a wonderful 1940’s lounge vibe with deep oakey wood furniture to finish the look. The seating at the bar and the side tables is all plush and comfortable designed to be sat in for a long period of time. This bar is featured on the West side of the Hotel Sorella, making it off the beaten path and hub from the rest of CityCentre. This is both a pro and con to this very classy bar. On one hand, it’s nice to keep it from being over crowded by drunk loud people, but because it is not a high visibility bar, it also lacks some of the atmosphere and crowd that the other CityCentre establishments offer. The bartender’s are happy to make you anything you would like, but the cocktail menu offers up some pretty old fashioned cocktails, a few new and trendy appearances, and some old sipping favorites. They are stocked with primarily middle to upper grade liquors, so don’t show up expecting a cheap bar tab. Bistro Alex is for kicking back and enjoying a few drinks with friends or coworkers, not for getting drunk and partying. The very atmosphere in here speaks to a slower more upscale feel, so come with the expectation of having a relaxed experience. Light appetizers and small plates are served up for bar fare, and unlike other bar food, this is an upscale and culinary twist to the traditional bar food. Because this is the downstairs bar attached to the Bistro Alex, all of the food comes from the restaurant, so the food has a distinctive Creole flavor, preparation, and style unique to this bar.
