At this place right know. Ordered the burrito the freaking meat was raw WTF. How can you screw this up but most importantly why is someone not seeing what they are sending out to the customers and the sprite was moldy tasting. I let the waiter know, all he did was take my plate. No apologies not even can I get you something else, Nothing! Wow lousy place. Doesn’t even serve 1 star.

I am a chorizo and egg lover and I usually go to tex-mex places for it so I decided to try out some authentic ones to see what the difference was. My food hasn’t came out yet as I have been waiting for about 10 min for them as I am writing and preparing this review. Food comes out and it looks pretty darn good. The meet filling is more than I usually get at other places and comes with a green salsa sauce. While I’m eating it now, I love how the tortilla texture has a slight crunch to it making this dish a whole lot funner to eat. Food is pretty good I have to admit and prices is about the same price everywhere else for this. I will be coming back to eat this again during breakfast hours. Thank you to my god sister who recommended this place to me!

Great small business and one of my favorite Mexican restaurant. It’s tough to beat a spot that’s 24 hours right. Plus there tacos are amazing and it won’t require you to break the bank either. The vibe is very casual definitely a spot to bring someone on a relaxed date or midnight taco run. Two thumbs up for me.

Wow. Amazing Salsa both Red and Green. Don’t miss either one. Sensational Caldo De Res chock full of veggies and beef. Certainly one cannot miss this dish in the chill of winter… even in Houston. Service and Michelada’s are likewise superb and the cost is a bargain. Found this place by serendipity but directions to it are now burned into my memory.

After spending, what felt like forever at a nearby car dealership we were famished and it was nearly 10:30pm. Other than Jack In the Crack, we had no idea what would be open. One of the guys at the dealership suggested Brenda’s, because it is open 24 hours. We walked in, not really sure what to expect and it turned out to be fairly decent. The server didn’t speak much English, so my two years of high school Spanish got a chance to shine(poorly, that is). The guy ordered lengua tacos(ewwwww) and I ordered a beef fajita torta. The chips and salsa were average, and my torta was pretty authentic but lacked a bit in filling. Ryan said the lengua was good, so there’s that! The interesting part about this place… Spanish karaōke. Very loud Spanish karaōke. And a Hispanic man dressed like Fonzie, singing Spanish karaōke. Ahhh… I love people watching.

Best part about this place besides being open 24⁄7 is the cheap prices. Only problem I have with this place is that most of the time, they get the order wrong and the portions are never consistent.

Very disappointing. After reading all the raving reviews I thought this would be a great place to eat and it was probably one of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. I got the«Brenda’s Nachos» with ground beef and some barbacoa tacos with corn tortillas and cilantro and onions.(BASIC street tacos.) The barbacoa meat was tender but completely bland. No seasoning whatsoever. The taco sauces were bland and not tasty. The nachos were just okay. They gave us 12(literally 12) regular sized tortilla chips and a crazy amount of soupy queso mixed with chunks of avocado and dices of tomato. I had to grab a bag of store bought tortilla chips to eat the rest of the sauce with. Overall it was piss poor food and I will not be returning.

Had dinner here with my wife and son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitress was very helpful and even gave menu suggestions and brought my son a horchata. Starting with the chips and salsa, boy are they SPICY! The green sauce especially, but I loved it. I got the chimichanga meal and my wife got the tacos al carbon meal. The chimichanga came with queso on top and was packed with meat. It was delicious and I went home very full. Definitely will give it another shot when Im in the mood for some good mexican food.

A 24-hour Mexican food spot — do I really need to say any more?! This review, however, is strictly for the tacos. I feel like I’m back in LA off Pico(but this joint is waaaaay better and more authentic than Tito’s — sorry, Angelenos). If you’re tired of the usual breakfast or fast food offerings of the late-night scene, Brenda’s Taqueria is the perfect alternative. Brenda’s has that warm, family-owned restaurant vibe with the speed and efficiency of your favorite taco truck. The inside is well-lit, very spacious and clean, including the restrooms(important things I note when I’m dining out late). My date and I came here after lounging downtown. Even after 2 a.m., there were plenty of patrons dining, but it wasn’t crowded. We were greeted as soon as we entered, and since I came with a regular, he pretty much knew all the servers, so we were seated at his usual table. Both the patrons and the staff were doing Spanish karaōke, which was entertaining to say the least. So, onto the meat of things — the tacos. I was lured here with the promise that they would be BOMB… and Brenda’s didn’t disappoint. I don’t know whose abuela is back in the kitchen serving up this goodness, but God bless her. On my first visit, I couldn’t decide if I wanted the grilled pollo(chicken), the carne asada(steak) or the camerón(shrimp), so I got all three. First, can we talk about how affordable they are? Basic tacos start around $ 1.75 and they charge you 25 cents each for cheese, sour cream, guacamole, etc. depending on the taco. And there are plenty of them to choose from. I think my most expensive taco was $ 2.25 before tax. Crazy. Second, all three tacos were good — well-seasoned, fresh ingredients and they came out hot. My favorite, however, is the grilled chicken so that’s what I stuck to on subsequent visits. Third, ask for the flour tortillas. And they aren’t those tiny ‘street taco’ tortillas that still leave you hungry, either. These tacos are a nice portion — like you’d find at a friend’s house — and they absolutely hit the spot! I also hear they serve up a mean margarita, but since I’ve only been after 2 a.m., I haven’t tried one. It’s certainly on my list. So, if it’s late night and you’re balling on a budget, head to Brenda’s and save a seat for me!

They changed a cook. Food is not good. Meat is tough and dry. Salsa was over ripe and they still served it. Quesadillas cold, soggy, and funky cheese taste. Why? Why? Why? This was my go-to place. Hope it gets better soon.

Finding an eatery open late let alone open 24 hours outside the beltway is a feat in itself. Brenda’s might not be the Chacho’s around, but it gets the job done. Thier margaritas are really good. I mean surprisingly good. Just one large margarita will have you acting stupid. The beef nachos just didn’t cut it for me. The torta was good and filling but pieces of bone were not so appetizing. My «room mate» had the T-bone dinner and he said the steak was good but the rice was sub par and the fries were atrocious. If Ihop and Denny’s don’t cut it for you, give Brenda’s a try. I heard thier quasadilla is good and thier Gorditas are also up there.

Food is solid and i love the fact that there is shrimp. I love shrimp and its hard to find places that have shrimp available for everything. I ordered the shrimp taco, shrimp sope, and shrimp quesadilla. Also a fajita taco, side order of rice, and large fajita quesadilla. I enjoyed the charateristics it had insidente and decorated. Service Felt slow but friendly. Overall good food and okay price $ 25 For everything.

My grilfriend told me about this place, and this is my 8th time here. I love the fact that they are family owned, 24hr and they do live music every weekend. Great and upbeat atmosphere here! I always order the crispy taco dinner with shrimp, chicken and beef fajitas. Price is cheap, taste is exceptionally good. And out of all the places I’ve been to they have the best and the spiceist salsa verde. Everything time I come here I always ask for more of the ‘green sauce’ haha. Overall a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night cravings. Oh, and they have a full size bar that serves tequila, margaritas, beer and other alcohols. If you like live music or karaōke is best to come in Friday night, come early because is full house packed!

We been here a couple of times and it was pretty decent. 24 hour of cheap, semi-fast food when ever you are hungry. We always get the gorditas they are really good! However, won’t be coming back. Our waitress was rude and we did not even see her half the time. It was not even busy and our customer service SUCKED. so what did we do? We tipped her 5% when we shouldn’t have tipped at all. I usually tip min 15−20% so that shows how crappy our service was. The only time she was there was when she handed us our check and literally stood there breathing down our necks looking/waiting to see how much we would tip her. As soon as she got it she gave us the most evil look and said to the customers behind us «ANDTHENTHERESPEOPLEWHOGIVETIPSLIKETHIS!» Well yeah if you give POOR customer service what do you think is going to happen? Be lucky i even tipped you in the first place. If its late at night and no where else is open this is definitely the place. Just dont expect well mannered people here.

Much better than taqueria arandas. The green dip from their complimentary chip and salsa is so addicting! I usually order their tacos, barbacoa, tripa, lengua, basically all of it! I love it. The only sad part about this place is their inconsistency. Sometimes the chips and dips are on point, other times the chips are stale and cold while the sauces are super runny and bland. I pretty much come here for the chips and dip and the tacos are just a plus. Good thing the tacos are always consistently good and super affordable.

I’ve been going to Brenda’s for over 15 years(I used to go to the one on Gessner before this one opened), I LOVETHISPLACE!!! The prices are incredible, the flavors are top notch, and the portions are perfect!!! My favorite is the fajita de res in salsa verde and the Brenda’s burrito, but I’ve never had anything that I didn’t like. They have a great creamy green salsa, a delicious tomatillo salsa(sometimes you have to ask for this one), and since this used to be a Taqueria Arandas, they serve the Arandas style salsa roja. This place it a dive, but it is a find!!!
