Found this place unintentionally but glad that I did. I was looking for a sushi bar but my GPS did not know that the sushi bar had closed, so went here. Had lunch and had a sesame seed covered flounder dish with sautéed spinach and brown rice. The hot and sour soup was great as was the soft roll. I was very happy to have the sautéed spinach as I have never thought of this as a Chinese side dish — but it was great. Everything was wonderful. If ever I am near, will pick up something to go while waiting in the bar

Off the menu item scallops with cashews in brown Sauce is by far the best chinese dish I’ve ever had in my life. You can’t go wrong with their bans foster dessert either. I used to come here with my mentor Dr. Herb Fred about 10yrs ago when they were in the rice village location. It’s good to see they are still around and were willing to make this off menu item(I used to get before). I also showed up around 300pm(which technically there were closed) but they were still kind enough to serve me. I definitely plan on coming back frequently. Best hunan cuisine in Houston by far! Ike

Stopped here on the way home from NRG. It was a Monday night around 8:00 pm. The place had 3 tables full. we sat at a booth and ordered a Kirin but they were out. We started with the lettuce wraps. There were 2 pre-made wraps and were very good. Then we split the Chicken Pad Thai and Orange Beef. The Pad Thai is made with green peppers, eggs and green onions. It was pretty good but not my favorite. I did not like the green peppers in there. The Orange Beef was amazing! So crispy and the orange flavor was yummy. The service was great and I would go back.

I just ordered the sea bass, it’s DEFINITELY a frozen out of the box Sea Bass, that has now made my stomach hurt & making me feel very nauseated. I also ordered the egg plant which was good, but veggies don’t make your stomach hurt & make you feel like vomiting. Don’t charge $ 25 for a frozen fish just to make a quick buck!

I ordered the General’s Chicken, Crispy Egg Rolls and the Fried Pork Dumplings. Service was quick and efficient. Everything came out quickly and was clearly fresh. The dumplings were inedible. They were incredibly bland and the only real flavor I tasted in them was grease. I didn’t even finish 1 dumpling so I threw away the remaining 5. The crispy egg rolls were ok. They were also very greasy but the wrappers were very crisp. The filling was very plain and the cabbage inside was in huge pieces that were tough to bite through. The general’s chicken was the highlight of the meal. Although a bit spicy for my taste, the chicken was tender and most of the pieces had a pretty good ratio of chicken to breading. I don’t know that I would eat here again, so that’s why I can’t give it more than 3 stars.

Had the General Tso’s Chicken– chicken quality is better than your typical Chinese restaurant. Very clean and nicely decorated inside. Lunch specials are great value for the area! Would definitely recommended!

NYC is known for having the best Chinese food, and being a born-and-raised New Yorker I was naturally skeptical of trying the Chinese Houston has to offer. What a pleasant surprise! Café Chino is excellent! My friend(who moved here from Manhattan) and I ordered steamed pork dumplings, vegetable lo mien, sesame chicken, and the Japanese eggplant in garlic sauce dish with added broccoli. Let me tell you, this food is GOOD. Especially the eggplant which tasted like butter. YUMYUMYUM! The sauce the dumplings came with was delicious as well, and super spicy. The least«authentic» dish in my opinion was the lo mien, but it was still good nevertheless. Good prices, FAST delivery, you can’t go wrong! And the best part… I wasn’t starving two hours later.

It really depends on what you get… I have always had a positive experience here until today… The curry tofu should be titled«yellow oil soup,» because the amount of oil was absolutely overwhelming. It was so bad that I could not eat it. It goes without saying that I do not recommend this dish.

Nice and convenient location. This restaurant has a nice ambiance and is very clean. We were seated right away in a comfy booth. They asked if we would like a booth or table, very considerate. Our waiter was nice. We started with the mango crab cake, then had the crispy Hunan beef with onions for our entrée and ended with the bread pudding. All the food was good. The price was fair. Yes, we would come back :)

This place is overpriced in my opinion. I ordered the pad thai and it was dry and bland. Husband ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings and they were equally without flavor. Two stars only because the waiter was really nice.

This is right around the corner from our house and I have passed it several times! This is my go too Chinese food. Excellent service combined with delicious food. They kept the menu simple with plenty of choices of scrumptious simplicity!

One of the best in Houston! The Mongolian beef is outstanding. The crispy spring rolls have the right amount of crunch and flavor. Also love the lettuce wrap appetizer!

Don’t try to go after 9:40PM. I just tried to go and they said they were closed. Would have been great to know that before I drove 20 minutes to get there.

I assume negative reviews are from Café Chino’s competitors, since I can tell confidently they have the best Chinese food and Asian fusion food in town. 1. Beef chow fun is awesome. 2. Fried snapper is epic. 3. Dim Sum are authentic. 4. Desserts are fantabulous Café Chino hasn’t let me down in the past 10 years. Be sure to check out their FB page for special events.

This is not your ordinary Chinese restaurant. It’s way better with the freshest of ingredients and menu items not found in just your ordinary Chinese restaurant. They have this tasteful 5 spice crispy quail appetizer I cannot turn down. It’s a must have with every visit! My usuals are orange beef(drool), Shanghai noodles, honey walnut shrimp and Japanese eggplant in garlic sauce(if available and they aren’t busy, they can make it with shrimp paste, my favorite!). I can’t ever go wrong with any of these dishes! Dessert must have is the blueberry croissant bread pudding topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled on top is a perfectly not too sweet homemade caramel. The contrast in temperature and the mixture of flavors is worth eating 2 of them! May makes the BEST bread pudding in all of Texas!

I love the food but the staff is not very nice. The delivery guy rocks but everyone else is not inviting. I asked for a water while I waited for my to go order, placed 15 minutes prior to my arrival, and they told me it would be out soon. I guess my $ 30 purchase does not justify cleaning after a free glass of water.

The Chinese food ever, I don’t think is regular Chinese, because I found many different dishes that you couldn’t find in a regular Chinese restaurant, and now they have dim sum everyday WHAT love it, let’s go and try it! The owner is always asking about the food he knows almost every person, just I personally like, if you know Mai the chef you know what I am talking about, ask for the shrimp dumplings thebest, and the sea bass out the world next time you go there go and get it, remember they are open on saturday and Sunday for Dim Sum for lunch 11:00AM till 10:00PM, if you have any question please call and I am sure they will help you right away, so don’t wait and came to see it for yourself

FOOD: My menu item of choice when it comes to Chinese food is always Sesame Chicken. I’ve found very few chinese restaurants that meet my expectations when it comes to their sesame chicken. Until I discovered Café Chino. This stuff is perfect. Definitely the best I’ve found in Houston so far. SERVICE: We ordered delivery, and were given a 30−40min wait time(I believe), and the order was delivered well before that. I’m sure it helps that our apartment was right across the freeway. PRICE: overpriced imo. two entrees and 1 soup for over $ 30? This is the main reason I won’t be ordering this food every week, because the food itself was great. Delivery was free.

This restaurant has awesome lunch specials if you work in the Greenway Plaza area. It’s located in a shopping center off of Buffalo Speedway and great if you need to pick up something quick to go. I can’t remember how much I paid for lunch but I think it was around $ 7 and it was filling and delicious! All the lunch entrees come with three sides and I usually get white rice, cheese wontons, and an eggroll. I’ve tried the eggplant, Mongolian beef, and tofu lunch specials. I would recommend both the eggplant and Mongolian beef but not the tofu because it doesn’t have a lot of flavor. I came for dinner with my sister and we ordered the Pad Thai and Chow Fun. The dinner was more expensive than lunch and didn’t taste as good. The Pad Thai tasted more Chinese than Thai and both dishes were too salty. I will not be returning again for dinner.
