THEMOSTPEACEFULCHINESELUNCHSPOTONMYLIST, IMPORTANTREADTHIS… Did you know that scientists have proven that water has memory and is affected by emotions and words that are spoken around the water? People have been poisoned by drinking clean water that was sitting at a table where a negative conversation took place. Research it for yourself on the internet. Look up, «Dr. Emoto’s Rice Experiment». This is why I look for peaceful places to eat and drink. If it’s in the water, it’s in us. Fast food that is prepared here with love and served with a loving spirit. I am so proud of the people who operate this business for practicing a peaceful religion. Who doesn’t love a peaceful spirit in the place that they sit down to eat at? Very nice people work and eat in this place. Keep up the great work and we will always support your business. Thank you and GODBLESSYOU for the peaceful environment and great food, Café Chopstix.

Came in because of all of the positive reviews on here. I had the sweet and sour chicken dinner special. It comes with your choice of rice, an egg roll and soup. The hot and sour soup was the best that I’ve had around here since moving. The owner cares about your opinion and the service is quick. Will definitely venture back.

I stick to the same dishes and they are all great. Orange chx, veggie delight our my go to plates. The number one orange chix in Houston. vegetarian egg rolls or superb! As in ALL restaurants, the drinks are over priced. But most plates or fairly priced.

I’ve only been one time with my boyfriend. He’s been a couple of other times and felt this place was very acceptable. We got take out and I ordered the lemon chicken and he got general tso. I loved mine. It was the best lemon chicken I have EVER had, and omg it was almost like they put three chicken breasts in there. That one meal made three full meals! Even my bf got some on my last meal! My bf on the other hand said it was ok, he only got two meals from his and had two not so great nuggets.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant! Always great food, friendly service, and clean. I ordered the lemon chicken and hot and sour soup, was fantastic. Before I’ve had the crab puffs and Kung pao, delish. Must try!

Worst food I have ever had in my life. The fried rice is brownish and dry no flavor at all. The shrimp tasted strange. Wonton soup tasted like dirty water. General taos was not spicy coated heavily in batter and just gross. The only thing that was good was the fortune cookie.

Food is OK, Customer service(at least for me) has never been pleasant… Most recently my boyfriend ordered and forgot to ask for extra soy sauce, i made him turn around, Because i have to have extra. I walked in and asked if i could get a few extra and the Asian woman working asked who I was? what did i order? because she didn’t recognize my face, then tossed a few on the counter and said«next time have the original customer come ask». Really??? over a plastic pack of less than an ounce of soy sauce. i couldn’t believe it. That was probably my last time visiting the establishment.

Okay. So I’m bummed. The reviews were raving. But my tastebuds were not. Tried the triple spicy chicken. I think they missed the whole spice concept. The flavour was lacking too! It was like eating dried out cubed chicken with extra dry rice. Maybe that’s what y’all consider«delicious» and«amazing» but then clearly you’ve never had good or even halfway decent oriental foods. It’s a dry dish to start off with, as in there’s no sauces involved what so ever, but even then the chicken itself was dried out to the bite. I bit into a piece thinking it’d be moist inside. Boy was I wrong. It was chewy and tasteless. The only flavour I got was from the raw onions on top. Highly disappointed in the food. Only got two starts due to the insanely nice and adorable lady working the counter. She was so sweet I didn’t have the heart to tell her k didn’t like her recommendation :-/#myownfail #shouldhavestucktokungpao I will be back to try their Kung Pao as all of you know I’m a sucker for that dish anywhere. However, I too do have standards, people! Till next time! xoxo

The best Chinese food in Houston! Actually it’s the best that I’ve ever had in every city I’ve lived. I’m not sure why or how there bad reviews?! They are fast, cheap, have huge portions, always fresh and hot, and the employees are very sweet. The restaurant is always super clean. They are closed on Sunday’s. I definitely recommend this place and will always be a loyal customer!

I absolutely love this place. They have enormous portions which I love because I can order one thing and be able to share it with my friends. The price is so reasonable for the amount of food you get. I was able to feed 2 teen boys and myself with about $ 15. I love the orange chicken, it has the perfect texture and is so delicious. The staff was very helpful and nice as well. My boyfriend likes to have half lo mein and half rice and they were able to accommodate that for us.

Why is the food here ALWAYSCOLD? When it’s warm or gosh forbid hot it’s great but it’s seldom even dating back to the old location as General Joe’s off Campbell. Ladies are always super nice up front but nice does not make my stomach full.

Excellent food here! And on top of that the service is great! I recommend the triple spicy chicken and if your not into spicy, the lemon chicken is bomb!

After reading so different review I had to go there by myself. The room itself looks more like a fast food thing. And also the orders are handled like this. So go to the counter have a look at the menu and than order. The order came through quite quickly. The food is nice. I tried the Kong Pao Chicken. One of my favorite Chinese dishes. It was spicy, but not to much. The nuts have not been cooked. Thank you. Some restaurants are doing that. I had a complete meal with a spring roll and a wonton soup. Nothing exceptional. So my impression all over. It will fill your stomach with a large portion, and it is good for lunch or take away, but it is not that I would prefer it. All over nice average Chinese food. Nothing more. Nothing less. Don’t expect anything authentic Chinese here. But who would?

I’ve been coming here for 6 years. Seriously, a gem. Love the ladies who run the place, it gets pretty hectic during lunch. Very clean, food isn’t authentic but I can’t complain when you get a full meal and drink for 8 $

Loved this place when it was General Joes Chopstix and I love it now. Good, fast, and nice service. Just your standard Americanized«Chinese» food. Sesame chicken, general tsos, sweet and sour, ya get my drift.

Was excited to try this place out because of all its great reviews but was dissapointed. I ordered the combination plate(was a lot of food) with chicken & vegetables & chicken lo mein with white rice. My entire plate was bland & I had to throw it away. I believe in second chances but if my chicken lo mein isn’t spot on or close then I don’t waste my time plus its out of my way so not willing to take the risk again! 2 stars for the amount of food that was packed into my plate!

Café Chopstix is located close to the HEB on bunker hill. This was the 2nd time a friend and I attempted to get food from here. The first time their was some issue with the phone. So it turned us away to something else. There are about 15+ other places to grab a bit near this restaurant. The 2nd time we called in and wanted to get dumplings but didn’t want to wait 45 mins to an hour as it was already getting late so we just got chicken fried rice and got some dumplings at HEB. They said it would take about 15 mins so we were happy about that. When we went inside to order the lady was kind of rude asking us «What you want to order» so we were kind of taken back. We got our food and decided to eat a few bites in the car. The rice had no flavor whatsoever. So maybe you have to get an entrée for flavor. On the other side the dumplings we got from HEB were awesome and full of flavor. So I would skip café chopstix.

The food gets a 4 but the service gets a 5! The staff is always friendly and cheerful. They’ll joke around with you and ask you about your day. The portion sizes don’t disappoint and the meat to batter ratio in their orange chicken is definitely in favor of the meat!

It was a little crowded when I decided to check this place out. Located in a strip center facing I-10 in the Gessner and Bunker Hill area. You order and pay at the counter then wait for your number to be called to pick up your tray or perfect place for carry out orders. I ordered the Orange chicken plate and an order of hot and sour soup. The soup was a big bowl for under $ 2 and Orange chicken consisted of lots of large pieces of chicken but some were a little hard. I would suggest they give a little more rice because the portion given wasn’t enough to eat with my meal. Friendly staff!

Reviews are spot on. GREAT menu, great food, great staff. Went with my Chinese staple, sesame chicken. It wasn’t on the special list, but of course they accommodated me. Won ton soup, sesame chicken, fried rice, egg roll, and a drink… all for a very reasonable price. The chicken was more like chicken strips than smaller pieces… I was skeptical, but quickly proven wrong. It was some of the best sesame chicken I have ever had. The rest did not disappoint. I travel to HOU on business frequently. It would be hard not to return next time I am on this side of town!
