I really like this thrift shop! They carry all kinds of stuff, not just pet items like some people assume. They are just open from Thurs-Sun and seem to be getting new items constantly. You can tell there are multiple people that do the pricing. Some items are a great deals and others are way too expensive for being used. They have cats that wander the store so be aware of that in case you’re allergic since their fur lands on the furniture! They do not have shopping carts so it’s kind of annoying to carry a small basket around the entire time. The staff is friendly and they have sales every day which is nice. They’re downsizing soon so the sales coming up are going to be up to 75 percent off!

As with any thrift store, it’s hit or miss but one of my favorite’s. Depends what you are looking for, and what donations came in recently. The best way to thrift is to be open to anything! They aso have a monthly sale calendar, so every day has a «daily deal» with something on extra % off. This store expanded and has a bigger furniture selection. Treasures I have found there to date include: furniture, vases, maternity clothes(yup — maternity — because no one wants to pay retail for clothes only worn a few months!), purses, shoes, photo frames, pet supplies, a neat metal serving tray, Texas A&M streamers… and probably more stuff I’m forgetting at the moment. I donate there often too(tip: they do have limited donation hours so check first before you assume it’s OK). The store is hidden from the I-10 access road, but worth exploring when you are in the area. Turn in by Prince’s burgers now. Ignore the gun shop nearby — it won’t interfere with your shopping, but I see how that could turn buyers away.

Non profits should be considerate of other causes, as not only general rule, but it’s the right thing to do! Caps was a horror I was donating several things and barely got them in the car– much less out of it. Once I did muscle several items onto the outside tables I was approached by a whining — screaming ‘worker’ from there, along with his perfectly pampered pooch. We don’t accept that(I sold it for 25 $) and we aren’t open for deliveries! The item at issue here was a 2 – 3 yr. old JVC19 – 22″ — «NOT A FLATSCREEN» T.V. It Worked fine had the remote and manufacturing info etc. with it. I also had my rescued Chihuahua with me. The t.v. wasn’t too heavy to carry over to the table, it was rather difficult to get on top and set up. I was double checking I had left everything I intended to, t*here were other items Ieft not in issue.* I went to toss a piece of bubble wrap and styrofoam in the trash and couldn’t believe all the«UNCAPSWORTHY» giving local residents had made an effort to drop off with intentions of helping Caps out with the good work they have done for years. At just a glance I knew 2 – 3 organizations that could make very good use of the items unapproved to sell and thrown away. It doesn’t end with that. He emphatically, ordered me to put it back in the car. This resembled the temperament of a toddler not getting their way and stomping in a crying fit. I was tired, my dog– not in a sweater matching anything, but a red and white sports jersey was romping in the parking lot. I wasn’t going to be able to get her& the genuine act of charity rejected back into the car. As ordered to, after I asked if there was any other option to deal with this tragic issue, I wrangled the t.v.and our pup into the car. Knowing it wasn’t going to be comfortable for her and I feared it was going to fall on her. I mentioned this, along with a look of disbelief and thinking he may give me grace for the dog. Not happening I was not even out of line of vision of the still hysterical worker it shifted and did catch her on the head. She wasn’t injured severly and was ok. CITIZENSFORANIMALPROTECTION — well this life altering event that moves mountains displays slightly different intention from ONE and only ONE employee there. Every other time I have had any dealings with the store or the shelter itself they have been wonderful. More concerning and disgruntling is the ‘selectivness and deliberate toss out of things that could go to another non profit. Many scout troops, mission churches, school districts, etc. would be happy to at least check the unwanted donations and pay it forward. Now I remain anonymous in this, as I was that day to Mr. defiant worker. I sign off with a quote«Kindness is a language the deaf can hear, the blind see.» Mark Twain. Be nice, you never know who you just may be talking down and being so very uncompromising to.

I used to come here all the time. They have good deals, it’s a clean place, and well organized; but when I was browsing today I saw these ceramic pieces which shouldn’t be put up because it’s pretty racist. I mean cmon. I don’t think selling this is necessary.

I was in yesterday. I had seen it before, but forgot about it because it is tucked way back in the parking lot. I originally wasn’t going to go in(I had already been to four thrift stores that day and pulling my baby out of his carseat again really didn’t sound appealing. My goal for the day was to find clothes for my boys, and they had a sign advertising 75% off clothing. I couldn’t resist. Normal pricing seemed to be on par with Goodwill, though it was a relatively small clothing selection. The biggest issue for me was no carts. I had my baby with me, so I had to shop while holding him. Because of that, I could only look at what I came in for and couldn’t browse the other half of the store. I picked up the monthly discount calendar, so I am looking forward to going back and trying them out again.
