Carrie Made the Cake

Hands down the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had! I originally tried one of Carrie’s cakes because my dad had one from buying a motorcycle. (She gives cakes to a motorcycle company who, in turn, gives their customers cakes for buying from them). It was the chocolate/​chocolate cake. It was so soft and moist. The icing was the perfect amount of sweetness! I know it sounds plain to have a regular chocolate cake, but her cakes are far from basic. After one bite, I was hooked! Better than any cake I’ve ever tried. Impressed, I took a mental note to order from her if I ever wanted another chocolate cake in the future.
This week, I looked up Carrie’s website and emailed her to order another chocolate cake. She responded professionally and gave me times when I could pick up the cake. Since I had never picked up from her before, I wasn’t sure which building was hers after using my gps to find her. She’s in a small, unlabeled house with a pink door. She gives out cake tops for free (the top portion of the cakes that she slices off to make them flat) and she also make specialty/​custom decorated cakes. I’m not disappointed with my purchase and will definitely buy from her again! If you love cake as much as me, you have to try one from her!

This was my first time ordering a custom made cake. It was for my daughter’s sweet 16. They were super patient with me, and all my questions and design suggestions. The design was perfect! Exactly what we had envisioned, and the taste — AMAZING!
When I went to pick it up, they had ‘cake tops’ from the cakes. They all tasted delicious.
I am crazy impressed with the cake, the friendliness of the baker, and the beautiful presentation.

Wow. Carrie’s cakes are unbelievable! The strawberries and cream cake was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of icing and moistness. The cake was more dense than most sheet cakes I’ve tasted, in a good way. It was like a sheet cake and pound cake decided to unite and create the ultimate cake. Yes, it was that good. I could have easily devoured a four person serving of it myself.
Carrie makes the cakes herself and is low volume as a result. Be sure you place your order a couple weeks in advance to guarantee yourself one of these cakes. They are worth it!

When I bought my Harley Davidson motorcycles, I was presented with two of the most incredible chocolate cakes I’ve ever had that came from Carrie. I never thought a cake could entice me to buy another motorcycle but I’m tempted to do it again if I get another one of these cakes!

Carrie made the cake, and I got the t-​shirt! Carrie has been rockin out cakes in Montrose for years. Shhh… I think she’s a secret. I’ve had the privilege of being a cake recipient, and a cake client. There is almost no style she can’t whip around her little pinky! She is very talented, and treats her customers like family!
Birthdays, bridal, babies, graduation, kids, and high end events. She can wow your guests with eye appeal, and internal goodness! I only wish she were local to me! We have had to cart several cakes across Texas in various ways to keep them intact and edible!
TIP: Grab a few «cake tops» when you pick up your own crowd pleaser 1) because the smell alone in the shop will put your cake in jeopardy 2) you lay down a couple dollars, get the goodness and she donates it to local charity.
