Just bought my first handgun from here. I was so impressed by an associate named Kevin. He was like a history book for guns and so informational. Carters country do not ever let this guy go because he is a star! I will be coming again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, prices are good ! Lower than many places I’ve been to. They have a good selection and nice products.

I was hesitant because of other reviews, but this grandma had a very positive experience with my first gun purchase. Immediate and friendly service from Paul. He was patient and thorough helping me with my purchase. Made me feel like no question was too stupid. Will return.

Very rude and insolent sales people. I am very unhappy with the lack of customer service. Don’t they realize without customers they will have no business?

Walked in ignorant and uneducated, walked out ready for Zombies. Staff are were friendly-ish. There’s a gun/shooting culture, let’s just say that. Will I go back? Most definitely. Guns, knives, ammo, camo, uh oh. They offer CHL classes at their Spring location only(Boo).

Friendly atmosphere, friendly people, and your checkout lady is so nice! I stopped by specifically to buy ammo that was right at the entrance as I walked into the store, which was perfect since I was in a hurry!

This location is slightly better than the one in Spring Branch. It helps that natural light is allowed to come in so I don’t feel like I am in a morgue run by zombies that don’t care to help patrons who just want to see a gun. This location has better staff but a smaller selection to choose from, but prices were just as high. Why do they think they can charge so much when others are willing to give us much better deals?

Not a bad place, needs more merchandise, but I found a pretty good rifle case cheap. However there was a Angel working at the register. I actually got goose bumps.

I went to the store on Wilcrest near 59 to pick up a drop ship shot gun for my son. The gun was supposed to be shipped to the I10 store, but cannot get an answer as to why it was shipped to a store 15 miles further away. The man that attempted to help me gave me some elusive instructions about the form I needed to complete and was yammering about Obama and the ATF. After completing the form, he told me I did not fill it out correctly(one box was checked and should have been left blank) and would need to do another. As I am filling out the second form the idiot again starts yammering about Obama and I tell him to stop talking about it. The second form apparently is not completed to his liking, so a third form must be completed. To which I rip up the first two, tell the man he is a pain in the ass and start filling out the third form. At this time the man tells the next store attendant that he will need to assist me and that I am not in a mental state to take the shot gun with me. The second attendant starts yelling at me about his store and the ATF, and I am to leave the store and come back tomorrow. At this point I ask for the manager. One hour later I am able to leave the store with my son’s Christmas present from his grandfather. I will never do business as long as I live with Carter’s Country or step foot in another one of their stores.

I had read the bad reviews about this place, from other sources, but decided to give it a try since it was just two minutes from my house. I was ready to buy that day. I am not one of those idiots that needs to go to twenty places to make a decision. People like that are so dumb that they do not realize they are wasting so much money in gas that, even if they save 50 dollars, they burned it all driving around all over Houston. I walk in and am the only person there. There is this ancient man there that was doing nothing and he finally said hi after 10 minutes. We start talking. I asked him to show me a gun. He asked me, «Are you buying today?» What a fool this guy was. He had no skills whatsoever in knowing how to sell properly. That was okay though. Then I asked him the difference between two guns. Why was one 200 dollars more than the other? In other words, I am trying to see if he knows what he is talking about. I want him to establish his credibility as a salesman. He stated, «I don’t know. Why is anything 200 dollars more?» At this point I realized that he is a miserable human being and he was the retired cop I had read about from other reviews. He could have had a sale that day. Instead, he lost it. I wound up going to Gander Mountain, which is by my work. I brought two guns, ammunitions, holsters and more. I would never recommend this place. Also, I read that people experienced racism at this place. I don’t think so. They may be racist, but I think the predominant factor is that they do not have people skills. In that case, why are they working as salespeople?

I’ve purchased three firearms through Carter’s Country, as well as various miscellaneous items over the years. With each purchase(two pistols and a rifle) I found them to have a good price, fast service, and a willingness to acquire the exact item I wanted if they didn’t have it in the store(in the case of the rifle). If you’re looking for sporting firearms, the selection seems good. Pistol selection is good as well. Tactical long guns/carbines are a bit slimmer, and they don’t appear to carry any AK-pattern or similar firearms. I’ve docked them one star for that, as well as for some lack of knowledge from some staff on a few occasions, as well as a generally«colder» attitude than you’d expect at times. I’m sure they deal with many people who come in and want to hold all the different firearms just to do so, but in my case, when I’m asking to look at something, it’s a true potential sale for them. Getting a cold response, or them coming across as if I’m wasting their time, tends to inspire me to look elsewhere. I’ve taken a second star off for that sort of attitude. All in all, if you go in knowing what you want and educated on what you’re looking for, Carter’s Country can be a worthwhile place to get it.
