I ordered delivery to my hotel. They were closing in 30mins. They still took my order but rushed me. The total was more than I expected and later I realized they charged me for the large instead of the small so the bill was $ 45. Delivering was decent. They were right down the street. They accepted cards too for delivery. The food was hot a delicious. The basil shrimp was great with yummy crunchy asparagus and other yummy veggies. The ribs were yummy too. I liked everything, wings(although they could have been more flavorful, they had a good crunch), white rice, but I didn’t like the Mongolian chicken. The corn starch was heavy in the Mongolian chicken and the texture of the chicken was gross. The food was ultimately good but I was disappointed they forgot both of my shrimp eggrolls.

The lady with the short dark hair at the front counter is extremely nasty and rude! Would not look up to acknowledge me, i had to keep asking her to repeat herself because she was trying to multitask. It was not busy. I left.

In town on business. Was happy at how quick they were to deliver. Steamed rice was not the best but decent! Wish they would have had Crab Rangoon on their online ordering menu. Overall it was a decent place for quick food.

The food is SUBPARATBEST! My husband and I have been customers for long enough to expect decent customer service. I called to place and order and was told the card needed to be present for the driver. This has never been requested of me. Once I said it wouldn’t be because my husband was paying for it and he’s not here, I was told«Oh my driver can’t deliver to you!» After which the PHONEWASSLAMMEDDOWNINMYFACE! called back to let them know how rude that was and the SAMELADY did it AGAIN! I WILLNEVERORDERFROMTHISRESTAURANTAGAININLIFE! I will DRIVE10 miles away from my house to get my Chinese food fix from now on! THEYDON’T EVENDESERVE A STAR!

Good olé fashion Chinese take-out. Can’t go wrong with that. I’ve had the lo mein and General Tao’s chicken.

We ordered for delivery from here through Unilocal. We got the works: 2 orders of cheese puffs, spring rolls, chicken fried rice, and shrimp fried rice. The appetizers were all really delicious, but the fried rice could have used some more seasoning. Not a problem, though, since they were easily remedied with some soy sauce and a little bit of salt. Minus one star for combining the sauce for the two orders of cheese puffs and not including plastic cutlery.

I have been living in Houston for almost 2 years and I have been looking for a good Chinese Takeout Resturant. I’ve finally found it! I got sweet and sour chicken and general tso. All white meat chicken, delicious, and amazing. Food was still hot when they delivered it. This will definitely be my spot.

I have mixed feeling about this place. I’m probably going to go back just to try another menu item and to have a serious conversation with the rude woman who answers the phone. ***This is where I get blunt & honest**** First of all the Asian woman(age 45 – 50) who answers the phone is an asshole. I’m serious, one of the rudest and cheapest people I’ve ever met. If you’re going to open a restaurant then you better have a good understanding of customer service, she clearly does not. She also doesn’t listen and you have to repeat yourself. We didn’t know where to go to eat and I started craving sweet and sour chicken so we pulled in and called in an order. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and the hubby orders sweet and sour pork. They don’t offer any dinner specials so you’ll have to pay extra for soup, egg roll and etc. We get home and I was seriously annoyed at what I saw in the bag or better yet lack of what I didn’t see. There was NO silverware, NO napkins and the sweet and sour sauce for 2 entrees was combined in one container. If we order 2 entrees then each dinner should have its own sauce. I call her back and say why is there no silverware, napkins and why is the sauce in one container. She said: you can get your own napkin and silverware at home. You ask for and we give but cost extra. WHAT??? You’re joking right. So then I remind her we have 2 dishes and one sauce and for that she said well I have you one big container, you share. Listen by now I’m thinking this lady is off her rocker. I tell her what if I’m going to work and there is no silverware or napkins and what if I’m ordering with a co-worker, we don’t want to dip out of each other’s sauce. My point is she didn’t know who or what would be eating this and she took the cheapest route and was rude about everything. I told her I was going to recap this on Unilocal and she said she didn’t care. Now both entrees were good. Definitely one of the better sweet and sours I’ve had. I’ll go back and try other dishes and if they are good and she improves her attitude I will raise this place to 3 or 4 stars. I’m not sold on higher stars due to service and packaging of dinner and I haven’t tried soup and other items yet either.

I ordered by phone and the whole process was just awkward. the lady talked to someone else while talking to me. Other than that the delivery guy was quick, but acted odd. The entire experience was weird for a first time try. But the food is good

I normally have dinner with my girlfriend every night, but this particular night I was out of town for work. In an attempt to be sweet to my girlfriend I offered to order her China cottage to be delivered. She said yes get me the chicken you always get that I like. I ordered online and asked them the write«the chicken you like your boyfriend always gets» and they did!!! Totally made our night even though we weren’t in the same cities. Thanks guys!

The lady who answers the phone is terrible she is so mean and rude, ive been a regular ordering food here because the food is good and delivery is fast but because of the rude lady who yells at the phone everytime i order and i know its her because of her same rude voice i am no longer going to order here. lady if you hate your job, quit. Dont put it out on your guest. She literally yells at you when answering the phone. I have never written a bad review before and i never intended until this experience. Lady, good luck with your life, try to stay professional.

Love everything about this place! The chicken actually tastes like chicken, and I absolutely love how they make the chicken fried rice! Definitely my go to Chinese restaurant when I’m home with my daughter and don’t want to leave the house! Thank God for delivery! Fresh, tasty food right to my doorstep!

China Cottage has a good weekday lunch special meal for less than $ 10 that is perfect for anyone working nearby but nothing else. This authentic Chinese-owned restaurant makes decent Americanized take-off Chinese food though a bit too salty, but I was disappointed that the fried rice used the long-grained rice instead of the short-grained rice that is traditionally used in Chinese cuisine so the fried rice tasted more like Mexican dirty rice than Chinese fried rice. As a Chinatown freak, I am much more picky with Chinese food, so perhaps you will not find too much fault with China Cottage if you are not too into the authenticity(My co-workers certainly enjoyed it). Like I said, this is a good place for your work lunch break, but it’s definitely not somewhere you should go out of your way to dine especially because it is so close to Chinatown where you can get actual Chinese food.

Not a fan… The lady at the front counter was rude and the food was not good at all. Based on previous reviews I was really excited about trying this place, but I was highly disappointed.

I read the reviews before going and I either saw 1 star or 5. Since this place is walking distance from my job, I had to try it myself. I walked in around 12:44 pm, got greeted right way for my choice of beverage. I got my water and then ordered: Lunch combo Chicken and broccoli w/brown sauce, fried rice, an egg roll and egg drop soup. By 12:49 I received my food. I was out of there by 1:05. The Service: Was really fast, a think a little tooo fast. My waitress wasn’t at all talkative but that worked better for me; order, eat and go. The Food: As stated in other reviews the egg drop soup did not have much flavor. With a little Soy Sauce and pepper, it was good. Egg roll was actually really good; crunchy! The broccoli was made perfectly; a little soft with a crunch. Rice was OK, probably my least favorite, needed to be cooked a little longer(Maybe 3 – 5 mins). The portion of my food was perfect for me. I do not eat that much so anyone who likes to eat, make sure to order 2 meals or maybe appetizers. For $ 7.25, it wasn’t that bad. I will probably go again just to try the wanton soup and sweet and sour chicken.
