I have been to Chuy’s probably 6 or 7 times and is a great spot to go considering it is open late(11 and 12am weekends). As other reviews on here have described the dips are awesome. The jalapeño cream dip and queso are so addicting you cant stop. The food overall is above average and the service is hit or miss. With that being said its a nice environment to enjoy some tex-mex and throw in one of their awesome t-shirts when you first walk in and it is a solid night

Wish I could give 0 stars. I get this is a chain and will usually be crowded but that doesn’t give the waiter a right to be rude. A waiter that wasn’t even my waiter first rammed a food trey into my husbands head then made continuous grunts like our table was in his way. He the proceeds to push me and my chair into my table while knocking the heater… I kindly removed myself before ordering… Seriously someone should screen the waiters and their personality. If you can’t handle crowds or a confined area to deliver food then get out of the business. I will never go back to this location.

Is there any way I can give this place 6 stars?! I have been coming to this location since 2003 when a good friend turned me on to Chuy’s. That relation has came and gone but my LOVE for Chuy’s has stayed strong! The atmosphere is amazing! The guys and gals that work here are always in good spirits, and the margaritas rock! My food of choice is the CHUYSPECIAL and I REFUSE to call it by its new name! Wife’s favorite is the Chika Chika boom boom. From the chips and amazing creamy jalapeño dip(which by the way started as an «off» the menu item) to the food this place is off the chain!!! I have tried other locations in Houston but I continue to come back to the original Htown spot. I have been blessed with eating at the original Austin location and will continue to come here at least 1 time a month. Continue doing what your doing Chuy’s. Btw if you sit at the outside patio it is pretty warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Also very kid friendly and kids get a push up pop treat at end of meal if allowed by the cool parents.

I love Chuy’s and I especially love this Chuy’s. It’s the best location, imo. My favorite things at Chuy’s are the dips — the fresh salsa, creamy jalapeño, and queso are all amazing! Other than the aforementioned dips, I’ve come to the realization that my love for Chuy’s is mostly just an emotional attachment. The food is not that good. Yes, I just said that. The cheese enchiladas? Meh. The frozen margaritas? WEAK. The refried beans? No. Those are the things I judge a Tex Mex joint on and Chuy’s does not deliver. Especially compared to the other Tex Mex restaurants in Houston. Also, Chuy’s is almost always crazy-crowded and the parking lot at this location is a pain. Nonetheless, I still love Chuy’s. It’s like an old friend from high school, who’s kind of annoying and lacking in substance, but still super fun to hang out with. Does that make sense? Whatever. I accept Chuy’s, flaws and all.

Great Tex Mex food around the area. To start with, they give your free chips and salsa plus a jalapeño cream dip, which you can’t stop eating. It’s addicting. For entrée, I have tried their Chick-a-Bom bom, which is delicious. I have also tried their Fajitas and they are great too. My favorite is the Fat daddy enchiladas. These are delicious, a little spicy but flavorful. The portion size of each entrée is huge, you can totally share it between two people(I usually eat so much of the chips and the jalapeño dip that I am full after eating half of my entrée). The prices are really reasonable for the amount of food you get and the service is good too.

Today a few girls & I decided to try something new & went to Chewy’s location 2706 Westheimer Rd Houston, TX77098. &OMG!!! I loved it the whole experience was amazing our waitresses name was Carrie she was AWESOME! She brought our food out in a timely manor, made sure our cups stayed full & had very genuine conversation with all of us & joking with us. And just to let you know how much fun we had we all met their at 2pm we didn’t leave until after 7pm. We had a great time. The ambiance was great the diversity in clientele was great. We really pigged out too lol. I will defiantly be going back to this establishment. It was so busy this is a very popular place it seems. Guess what even though it was busy Carrie made sure to come by & see if we needed anything or just did what needed to be done she was AWESOME! The restrooms needed a little sprucing up but other than that it was GREAT! I hope this review was helpful have a great day & Happy Holidays:)

Chuy’s has some pretty good Tex-Mex food, and I totally love their creamy jalapeño sauce for chip dipping. They have a pretty cool happy hour where you have unlimited access to the Nacho Car Trunk which has a variety of chip dips as well as queso and nacho beef. They also have cheap prices on domestic beers and specialty drinks. Food-wise, i’ve always been a fan of they Chuy-changa, their taco salads, and their fajitas. Give em a try!

Not my default Tex-Mex locale, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get my fix here. This Chuy’s is pretty average, like the rest of them. Big parking lot, big venue, standard quirky décor. Great service. The margs are delish as always(swirled, frozen, ask for salt if you want it), but not very strong. The chips are addicting as usual. Most of the entrees are your normal Tex-Mex ones, but I can never resist the chuychanga. RIP to my diet. It’s a chimichanga — deep fried burrito(the tortilla is quality), tender seasoned chicken, queso, spices, all sorts of magic, and a side of refried beans and rice(yawn worthy, but goes well with the chuychanga). Like a crazy ex, I know it’s bad for me, but I can’t stay away. All in all, Chuy’s is just very okay for me. With so many unique Tex-Mex gems in the area, it’s hard to justify picking the most Americanized chain out there. Still, this is the good olé reliable Chuy’s you’ll find anywhere, and if it’s your jam, this one is no exception.

I’ve come here so many times, I figured it was finally time to write a review. Every meal starts off with delicious creamy jalapeño and salsa with chips — I cannot ever have enough creamy J! It’s always a challenge to avoid having too many chips to enjoy my meal This visit, I ended up having the bean burrito with boom boom sauce(cheese sauce with hot peppers). Maybe not the best choice, I wish the burrito had something other than just beans and cheese inside(perhaps just serving the rice or vegetables inside the burrito rather than on the side would yield a much better dish) but at the same time, I don’t think I can complain too much when I got exactly what was described, but I guess I wish I’d ordered the enchiladas or chilles rellenos both of which I have enjoyed in the past. Also got a classic margarita on the rocks — solid, unspectacular, good price

I’ve been here a few times and I always get Amber as my server. She’s very nice and makes sure that you are taken care of. I love getting Chuy’s vice, which is a Pina Colada topped with a frozen strawberry margarita… It’s amazing! The beef Fajitas are seasoned very well, and the fresh tortillas are great with any meal. For dessert, you have to try the Tres Leches cake, it is to die for!

Okay — let me start this off by saying I absolutely love the food at Chuy’s. I am a die hard fan of the creamy jalapeño and the chile rellenos w/deluxe tomatillo sauce. However — the service at this location is absolutely terrible. I’ve ordered To Go twice and each time — the same guy working there was incredibly rude. So rude that my friend and I almost said forget our order, we are leaving. I ate here again on Thursday thinking that maybe service would not be so bad if we dined in rather than order it to go and our waiter was rude from the beginning. He asked us if we wanted menus(first off — why wouldn’t we? Is it the norm to read menu before arriving?) and then rolled his eyes as he went to go grab them. Once he gave us our menus, he asked what we wanted to drink and we said we’d take a water for now as we just got the drink menu and needed a minute… once again — it was like we were ruining his whole day(mind you it was 4:30PM, it was not busy at all) Now this is what I don’t get — YOUAREWORKINGINCUSTOMERSERVICE. YOUWORKFORYOURTIPS. Why would you be rude? Anyway TLDR; Service sucks. Wouldn’t come back even though I love the food, feeling like a nuisance to the waiters is not worth it… I’ll just go to El Tiempo where the service and the food are both always on point.

THECHIPSARE A GODSEND! Maybe cuz I’m from the northeast and am used to shitty Mexican food but DAMN. I’ve never had such thin, crispy chips. Perfection. As far as the meal we had the chikka chikka boom boom– super cheesy, heavy, but tasty. Enough for dinner and lunch the next day probably ;) Also love the ambiance here– cute lights for outside seating!

I just love Chuy’s and feel so happy they’re in Houston. The food here is fresh, reasonable priced and a fair portion. The tres-leches cake is my favorite in the world! They also have really cool tee shirts. The wait staff has always been upbeat and friendly. The interior is outdated and somewhat on the ugly side. This location doesn’t serve the chicken stuffed avocados.

This is a different take on Mexican food. We went there on a Thursday night & had a friendly and accommodating hostess. The waitress Anna also was quick with refills & service. The parking was free in a lot next to the restaurant. The margaritas are ok but not strong or big. My reason for the low review is the food. The jalepeno dip that others really like tasted like ranch dressing with some Mexican spices, it was cold. The chips are fresh & light but the salsa also had no flavor. I ordered the boom boom chicken enchiladas & although it was all white meat chicken I did not like it. It tasted like a food not very Mexican but more American. The rice was dry & so was the refried beans. I would not return or recommend it.

Love this place. There’s never much of a wait, and the prices are affordable for good Mexican food. I wouldn’t say it’s «authentic» Mexican food, but it tastes damn good and is a casual, affordable, and delicious place to go for lunch and dinner. I’m a big fan of their creamy avocado dip that is served with the chips and could pretty much drink it. I usually order fajitas or their big ass burrito — A tip is to order the mini big ass burrito(quite the conundrum). Trust me, it’s still not mini. I made sure of it before downsizing. Still comes with Mexican rice. I always get mine topped with queso You get a good bang for your buck here and the food is awesome. Tacos are great too!

Tonight, after bouncing ideas back and forth off each other, my boyfriend and I finally just settled on going to Chuy’s because I was craving their jalapeño ranch type dip. Anyway, our server was fantastic, he always had what we wanted in hand and was completely deserving of a great tip. My taco salad was delicious, also. My boyfriend did not love the fish taco, but he liked the shrimp taco well enough. Overall, we left very content and full, and he was very impressed that the margaritas were only about $ 5.95 each.

What a great find for lunch. Service is super friendly and quick. We loved the weekend salsa verde carnitas special. I got the lite lunch with a crispy taco and chile con queso. Not bad(but not as delicious it authentic as the carnitas and wish it had more guacamole). No room for dessert!

Love going here for happy hour. I typically have 2 margaritas and add sangria. The happy hour nacho bar is great — cheese, meat, pico, salsa. Good stuff. Happy hour has great prices.

Out of all of the Tex-Mex restaurants in Houston, TX, this one consistently comes out on top for the price vs. quality food. When you first arrive, they hand you warm chips with two types of fresh salsa; salsa fresca and creamy jalapeño. The texture of the chips are thin, and when you bite into them, they don’t fill you up as much as other types of chips. I don’t know what it is, but they taste the best. What to order: –Crispy Tacos Pros: –Price Cons: –None

There’s not much about Chuy’s that I can say that hasn’t already been said. Parking sucks, drinks are just okay and the creamy jalapeño dip is amazing. I absolutely love the sour cream enchiladas, but I hate that they are only offered one day a week. The service has always been fairly decent, so I won’t discredit them in that area. Overall, when I’m craving Tex-Mex, I always choose Chuy’s over Pappasitos.
