Simple place. Great chicken rice. Rice is cooked in chicken broth. I get he #2 — chicken rice with dark meat only. I don’t eat anything else here but as the name of the place suggests, it is chicken and rice. Simply put, I like it!

I come here at least once a week when I lived in Bellaire and I don’t get all the complaints. It’s an Asian restaurant in Chinatown. It’s not a five star restaurant and you not paying for service. If service is bad just don’t tip… That being said I really enjoy the chicken here. Either the clear noodle or chicken and rice. I been getting the clear noodle because I always eat it with the Thai chili. I love the spicy kick… The broth is on the sweet side because of the onions they use but its still good.

I come here almost every other week and I love it! The chicken has a beautiful texture with an even better taste. The service here is really fast, so there’s no wait. Five stars!

Came here again, food is still pretty decent, giner sauce is the standout n service was a bit better. They gave me spoiled rice twice.

No matter how many times I eat at an Asian restaurant, I can’t seem to get over the service. They rush to take your order or they ignore your a$$ because they are packed. The food was alright nothing to Unilocaled about. oh well.

Great food and the portion is huge. I was craving but could not finish my dish. Don’t miss out the special com ga, it comes with a bowl of broth full of chicken intestine and it tastes good. Service is minimal as usual and we were not greeted when stepping in nor be asked to order(we had to ask for it ourselves). That’s why I give it 4 stars, but it’s definitely worth trying.

The price is expensive. Not worth money for what they bring out to eat. I ordered«Rice with Dark meat«and there were 5 pieces of dark meat and another small piece of wing which is called«extra ». Worst explanation ever. Never come back again.

Best com ga I’ve had in Houston, deboned and fresh I always stick with this dish when I come here, not sure about the other dishes.

So it’s a Sunday night, all restaurants are either crowded or about to close and we stumble upon Com Ga and figured we would give it a shot. Im not vietnamese, but know my way around a Vietnamese menu and also know that«Ga» means chicken. That said, this place only serves chicken, so if you’re looking for your Phở Tai, keep it movin. I ordered a Phở Ga w/white meat and was not impressed. The phở broth had a weird sweet taste to it… So I know they put sugar in it… Bleh! At least give me the option to jazz up my bowl before you dump a whole package of sugar in there. So gross! And lastly, white meat chicken should not have fat and yellow hued chicken skin still attached. This screamed lazy and cheap cuts of meat to me. You are truly better off eating at a Phở Danh chain than at this hole in the wall. Plus they tried to overcharge me and did not say hello or thank you. There are plenty of other phở options in the area, so go elsewhere!

My uncle recommended checking out this place for Ginger Chicken. I love ordering this at Americanized Asian restaurants. It’s always over priced, and my uncle told me we just had to come here for it. We ordered their specialty plate, which comes with both white and dark meat along with a gizzard soup. I guess I’m too used to the americanized way, but I did not enjoy my lunch. I especially did not like the skin, which he said was the best part. To me the best part was the ginger fish sauce, beyond that I did not like any of it.

The place looks shady, but they have good chicken salad. I always order«chao ga» with salad.

My sister’s husband is a huge fan of this place so we frequent this place. It can be a hard place to spot as it is in a rundown shopping center and parking is tight with surprise pot holes. On a positive note for an Asian restaurant in Chinatown, they take credit cards. Service is what it is but I haven’t had a terrible experience thankfully. It is to the point and fast. Dishes we usually order:(photos provided) #39 large, which is a large chicken salad. #28 Soup or dry, which is dark chicken soup with yellow egg noodles I’m not a fan of chicken liver but if you order the«dac biet», which means combo, it will have it. You can choose whether you want it as dry entrée or soup entrée so whatever you are in the mood for. I think the food is pretty good and cheap. Despite the reviews, it’s a 4 star in my book.

Food was not too bad. I love their fish sauce mix with ginger here, it was so great. We order dark chicken rice come with salad, it tasted good but cannot compare to authentic chicken rice in Vietnam, maybe bc i am picky??? Service is like others Bellaire restaurant, just acceptable!!!

My cousin recommended this place to me but when I looked it up on Unilocal the reviews were pretty horrendous. However I did get the daredevil badge so I figured I might as well live up to it and eat here. Maybe it’s cause I live in West Hollywood now and I don’t have as big of an opportunity to eat Vietnamese food, thereby making my palate the same as every other ignorant American, but I actually enjoyed the place. Sure the chicken is a freaky color and the place is dirty and there were a lot of misses but dude it’s just like a nice restaurant in Vietnam! It’s all a matter of perspective people! I thought the ginger fish sauce was awesome, the rice was good enough and the chicken was moist. That being said I“m still giving it three stars because there’s something wrong when you have to give yourself a pep talk to try the food and the goi salad really wasn’t goi as much as just a heap of shredded cabbage. All in all when you’re paying 20 bucks for 2 people there’s not much room for complaint.

So i ordered the«dark meat chicken special» and I was extremely underwhelmed. Why is it special? Is it cause of the artificially«special» yellow skin on the chicken? Honestly, the food didn’t taste bad it was just very average. The chicken tasted fine and the pickled vegetables were fine. The only thing worth mentioning is the soup that comes with the meal. It was just chicken soup with like a crack-ton of MSG but what made it special was the chicken organs in it. If you’re an adventurous eater or just Asian then you’d love the gizzard, intestine, liver, heart, and kidneys jam packed into the soup. Its like a wonderful little lottery or assorted organs, you never know what you’re gonna find! Service was terrible. The waiters will basically ignore you until you grab them by their shirt and drag them to your table(exaggeration). Overall, don’t come to this place unless you’re really craving some random chicken organs. But then again how often is that…

The service here is bad, the food is even worse. Their rice tasted like they cooked it with coconut milk, just like the way ppl cook sticky rice… very weird. Not only that, they color their chicken skin with yellow water, you can obviously recognize it by looking at the bone… no bone has bright yellow color. The price is the same as any other places but portion is smaller, less meat! Here comes the service, i order goi bap chuoi but they brought out for me something else. They said the dish i ordered is out for that day, and they didn’t even ask me anything but brought out something else. I told them i don’t take it and the server stared at me. Not talking about the service, i’m still will not coming back for the food. bad!

So this was one experience I’d like to share with everyone before they make a visit. There is a huge difference in dark meat and white meat and that’s something the people at this place needs to understand before they start piling a bunch of meats in your entrée. I came here with a colleague for lunch on Saturday. I ordered the«Dark» meat chicken soup. My colleague ordered the«White» meat chicken soup. When our soup came out, I informed the gentlemen, this was not what we ordered. He said yes it was. Since I pointed out that I ordered the dark meat, why was there white meat. He said, «it doesn’t matter, they all taste the same.» Clearly this guy eats cardboard covered with Sriracha and Hoisin Sauce, because there is a difference between white and dark meat. One is dry and the other retains more texture and fat. When I clarified this in Vietnamese, he just stared blankly. Of course he would. The guy wasn’t spending a ridiculous $ 9.00 for a bowl of soup that wasn’t made the way it was ordered. My colleague and I ended up having to take the portion of meats that we clearly did not order and throw it on the table. We found that not only everything on the menu is ridiculously over priced, portions are small and the food is average, but the employee was lazy and incompetent to not understand the difference between meats. I hope they don’t start serving pork there, because if will start advertising that pork tastes exactly like chicken. Or, pork is a vegetarian option.
