Worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been too. The steak tasted greasy like it was pan fried and the steamed broccoli was raw

The employees here meaning the servers and their management all need to be trained to be all the same page. I’ve been ordering a meal no longer on the menu for some years now whether it’s here or in Georgia or Detroit they are supposed to make it. This location right here is something else so had to go to corporate to get issue resolved.

This is a decent place to grab some lunch or to take your mom to, which is what I do since she loves this place lol. Wouldn’t consider it to be a home style cooking/soul food type place, but it tries to be. Food isn’t to die for, but some dishes are tasty. I always get the chicken fried steak, which comes with some tasty potatoes. Macaroni is a bit meh. My gripe is that this place is always always always packed and crowded and service can be a bit slow.

We eat at Cracker Barrel in Beaumont Tx quite often and they are consistently good. We drove over 2 hours to visit our son and his family and came here to eat. Pancakes were great. I ordered scrambled eggs and got fried. I just ate them anyway. Service was slow and I did not want to wait even longer. Some bacon was under-cooked and some was extra crispy on the same plate. My son ordered chicken fried chicken. The menu says it comes with 3 sides. The waitress said he could only have 2. He ordered mashed potatoes and a side salad. The chicken was like a childs nugget plate; 2 extra well done pieces of chicken. Very small pieces of chicken. The salad was lettuce with a piece of cucumber on it. They also charged $ 2.69 extra for it. Don’t call it a salad. Call it a bowl of lettuce. I hate paying money for food that is no good or poorly prepared. It was very busy and we had to ask repeatedly for refills.

A great place to get breakfast lunch or dinner they make such good pancakes I crave them sometimes. Have been eating and shopping at Cracker Barrel for years. It’s where we stop when we travel. You never know what you’ll find in the Cracker Barrel store. Music knickknacks cute clothes candles candy.

My first experience with CB was in Phoenix, and since then, I thought the food was good and my wife LOVES it. My next and FINAL experience with CB was in Houston, where people seem to swear by it. I certainly was not impressed. From service, to food, to the other patrons in the retaurant, this place is ghetto. Yes, it is setup just like every other CB, but let’s start with the service. 1. We walked in and were met by the hostess. No smile, or «welcome to CB». She went straight to the«how many people?». 2. Next I asked for a breakfast menu and a Dinner menu and her response was, «are you having both?» Does it matter? I want both! 3. I ordered a sweet tea and ASKED for a refill twice. The second time the waiter said they were«out» and do I want him to make more. Sarcastically I thought in my head, «No, please don’t bother to make more of the drink I paid for.» He also did not offer an substitutes. 4. One of the forks at our table(of course it had to be mine) had a bent tine and it cut my lip. I went to one of the waiters, let her know that the fork was bent, it cut my lip and asked for a replacement. And of course, the replacement had a bent tine. Finally, after 4 forks, I got one that was not bent. I didn’t even get an apology from the waiter. Even worse than that, the waitress threw the fork in the sink so it could be reused. The food: 1. Rib-eye is good. Ordered it medium-rare and it came out as medium. Fried okra was bland and did not seem freshly fried(it was not crisp). Mac and cheese was good and the best part of the meal was the sweet potato. 2. Roast Beef is always a crowd pleaser. Nice and tender. Mashed potatoes were good. Needed to add some salt. Other Patrons: 1. A couple seated next to us was odd… odd in that they finished most of their food and proceeded to complain about the meal to the manager. Then they requested for their meals to be comped as well as their meals to be re-made. Also, they stared at us the entire time we were eating. At one point I wanted to move tables because I was uncomfortable. I can’t blame the restaurant for the other patrons, but they can do a better job of where they seat guests. Probably not going to visit this location again. It was a bit of a let down.

Mmm Mmm! I’m from the west coast, so Cracker Barrel has been on my list of restaurants to try since I’ve heard of it and seen it in passing quite a bit during travels to the Midwest. It did not disappoint, and I busted a move after taking a bite of my pancakes. Mmm Mmm! They were perfectly fluffy with a light crisp on the edges. They also served the syrup warm. We were seated right away on a late Wednesday morning. Our waitress was awesome… quietly efficient, and honestly, I hardly noticed her(which is typically uncommon for me), but I recall everything running very smoothly. I ordered the pancake combo with eggs, and 2 turkey sausage patties. The turkey sausage wasn’t wimpy in the slightest, and the eggs were yummy too. Ya never know when it comes to turkey! Everyone else enjoyed their choices as well. I can’t remember what they had, but mine was bomb. I’ll be back! The prices are comparable to Denny’s, and the atmosphere has a warm southern charm to it. Like having breakfast in a cabin in the woods, even. Oh Cracker Barrel, you are now on my list of things that make me go Mmm! Thank you.

So we went in for a family breakfast and the service was horrible. Manager was not any help either. We’ve eaten breakfast here many times in the past and everything has always been perfect, however lately seems like this place has gone down hill. Waited over 1 hour to be seated and 1 hour to have our order come out cold and wrong! Probably my last time eating here. Very disappointed in this place. Really needs to re train their employees from the hostess to the cooks!

Have you ever been to that crazy aunt’s house that cooks a lot of Southern food? Then you might mistaken Cracker Barrel for her house. It’s cozy, heated by a fire, and even has oil lamps on each table. The décor is kitschy in a fun garage sale type way. Okay, resale shop type way. Breakfast was delightful though the cornbread was a little dry for my taste, but it was free so I can’t hate. The double edge sword is the fun gift shop at the entrance. If there’s a wait, you can always peruse and last minute gift shop an array of knickknack sorry snacks. Here’s where the problem lies. You pay for your meal in the gift shop as well, so sometimes there can be an unnecessary wait.

I called to make an order to go, lady put me on hold for 5 minutes then I decided to hang up. Guess they don’t make take-out customers a priority.

It was our First time trying crackle barrel. I Ordered French toast with home fries while my Man ordered the smokehouse meal with a side of pancakes. The pancakes, home fries and turkey bacon were the only edible thing were ordered. The French toast had no flavor whatsoever, eggs were runny, biscuits were dry with no flavor. With the amount of time we waited to eat(about an hour) we expected more and were very disappointed. My Man had one word to say as we left«IHOP!»

If you’re in the mood for old fashioned meals that remind you of the old frontier this is the place to go. Gigantic Texas sized portions for relatively cheap prices! This place absolutely hits the spot with their ribeye steaks and baked sweet potatoes! A must try for anyone young or old.

This is my second time at cracker barrel, but my first time at this location. The food was okay, but I just felt I had a better experience in Waco. The service was kind of slow. I ordered the ribs and chicken tender special. The poster looks better than what was actually served to me… the ribs were good, but really small. I would only go back for breakfast, not dinner

The only things I like from Cracker Barrel are the pancakes, biscuits, and cornbread. Everything else here tastes super generic. I never really leave this place thinking man, that was a great meal! My favorite part of visiting Cracker Barrel is their store They have lots of random things there and it’s always fun to walk around and see what new things they have. Last year we decided to skip cooking for Thanksgiving and eat at Cracker Barrel so we could do some black friday shopping. BADIDEA! We got there around 11am and the wait was well over 2 hours. They were super disorganized and the mic to call the people kept going out. It was a zoo! I had ordered their traditional turkey meal in the spirit of thanksgiving and was disappointed. The turkey was dry and lacked flavor. The gravy was super generic. If you go here, stick to the breakfast!

This was the worst cracker barrel I have ever been to. I have been to about 10 locations over the years and this one needs some work. The server. She came to the table 3 times to take drink order, to take food order and to drop off check. I was able to wrangle one refill out of her. The food. The only good thing was the biscuit. I had grilled sausage with greens and grits. The sausage was gritty the greens were so overcooked that the liquid was solid green which tells you they were boiled to death. The cheese grits were cool. The corn muffin was like saw dust. The biscuit was good but not enough to save this. They need a major retrain at this location from how to cook the food and how to serve it. The sever never even said have a good night or thank you. She dropped the check left my dirty plates and said pay up front. Katelyn was her name avoid her if you want anything that resembles service.

I’ve finally been able to try this place out! It’s always so packed & the wait is insane. But considering we went on a Saturday morning & the wait time was only 30 – 35 minutes? It was our lucky day. We killed time by rocking on chairs, playing checkers & checking out the store — a lot of neat old school stuff! We started off with Raspberry Sweet Tea. My boyfriend thought it was okay, but I thought it was delicious! For breakfast, I ordered my ultimate favorite: — Grandpa’s Country Fried Breakfast(3⁄5): I always get country fried steak wherever they serve it for breakfast & dinner! Here, it was okaaaay, nothing special. I wish it was more battered & the gravy was too peppery for my taste. I really liked the grits(with butter) & hash browns. The biscuits were average, but when smeared with apple butter? It was pretty good! My boyfriend ordered the Country Boy Breakfast — Sirloin steak, scrambled eggs with hash browns but they mistakenly put hashbrown casserole instead. He commented on the steak being dry but everything else was decent. At the end of the meal, we sat for a good 10 mins or so not knowing we were suppose to pay in the store. Lol, all in all, it was a good experience but I think I’m going to go with the pancakes & such next time :)

I love going to Cracker Barrel! I like to meander through the shop, play with the toys, look at the clothes, and sometimes buy a candle or some sort of lotion. It’s like an adventure. I like that they serve breakfast all day because who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner on occasion. Most of the time when I think Cracker Barrel, I plan on indulging in some Southern goodness that’s not particularly healthy. So you can imagine my panic when my lunch date suggested we eat here while I am in the midst of a major diet! Well I am happy to report that you can find healthy options once you get past the gravy and fried stuff. I opted for the apple and chicken salad. It was a homemade chicken salad with cranberries, chopped almonds, apple slices, and Colby cheese wedges served atop a bed of lettuce. It also came with a black pepper vinaigrette and a blueberry muffin. It was delicious!
