Hotel restaurant is very accurate. I had the Reuben sandwich, which wasn’t great. The bottom piece of bread was soggy when it was served. The chips were good. My companion had a salad which looked to be nothing special. The service was unenthusiastic… actually our server seemed bored. We will not return. Adding my companion’s comments: «You know, I had a stomach ache the rest of the day after that „Main Restaurant“ visit. The lettuce was fresh, the dressing was watery and had no flavor and the bacon bits were simply DOGFOOD. The bacon chewy strip treats by Purina. I guarantee it. Would like to send the Food and Drug Administration out there to do an inspection.»

Get the ribs and fries crusted with Parmesan. Both are stupid good. I had them yesterday and want to go back and get them again.

We had visited one of the many car dealerships on I-45 when hunger called. We hit Unilocal and found this place less then a mile away. The strong reviews compelled us to check it out. When we pulled up and looked at the place(including its barricaded parking lot, manned security gate and oblique signage), we couldn’t tell if we’d arrived at some kind of high-level Dave & Busters, a front for a CIA branch office or a cult headquarters. Turns out it’s a real estate showplace for high-end home builders looking to put their best foot forward with the way the place looks. As a result, the esthetic is kind of surreal, almost Stepford-wife-like in its polished artificiality, but the actual experience at MAIN the restaurant was very genuine and incredibly delicious. The waiter was knowledgeable & friendly, making recommendations that aligned nicely with our expressed preferences. He also offered substitutions on items that enriched the experience. The missus had fish & chips(with truffle fries substituted as the chips) and I had a burger with bacon, sautéed onions ANDBACONJAM(WHATISBACONJAMANDWHYHAVE I NEVERBATHEDINITBEFORE?!? [It was that good.] If you’re ever stuck on I-45 north of Houston for some reason and feel the blood sugar crashing as your road rage rises, pull off and hit this place. You won’t regret it.

Went for lunch. Made a reservation thru Open Table @11:45. Got there around 11:35, the place was pretty empty, only 1 customer. So the reservation was not needed. It is really small, has the feel of a hotel restaurant(take that however you like). The Calais burger was good. I should’ve scraped off some of the bleu cheese though. The White truffle fries that come with it were borderline gross. A talkative group of 5 or 6 came in and it got loud pretty quickly as its all tile and wood in here. Has great natural lighting. Not sure if I’d go back.

Ate lunch there. Had the cheese platter, meatloaf, and my wife had the flat iron steak. Food was decent. The fried black eyed peas were a neat start. The cheese plate was the best. Steak was overcooked. Balsamic reduction was strong but I thought it was good. Meatloaf was good. Had a very light tomato cream/buttter sauce but was topped with a sweet fruit like jam. The atmosphere was casual cafeteria. Bill was $ 71 with a tip. Not a bad place but nothing good enough to require a quick trip back.

Absolutely amazing! Small but very aesthetically pleasing. Food was great and the staff very friendly. It’s not a place where you would expect a restaurant but still fantastic!

Have you had the ribs here?! If not, first ask yourself why you’re denying yourself such a pleasure and second get over here and order some up! The meat was soooo tender, and the sauce is incredible! Burgers were also extremely good! Cooked perfectly(I asked for it medium and that’s exactly how I got it) and delicious! Go on over to MAIN restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!

Went here with a party of 3. We all ordered the chops. This was probably the best chops I have had The cut was good and cooked to perfection. All of us really enjoyed the meal. Service was exceptional as well.

Great spinach and kale salad. We split the salad($ 3.50 charge). Plenty for a lunch for 2, worth the charge. Ingredients are fresh and tasty!

Went for tonight’s special: double cut pork tenderloin. It was such a bountiful cut, my husband and I shared it. Moist, tender, juicy, full of flavor — can you tell we liked it! With a side of whipped potatoes and local grown green beans, the meal was fantastic. We’re trying to decide if we can squeeze in a dessert, we’re feeling satisfied from the main course.

So first, I have to say I did not know that this restaurant was even here. I know the location and I see the happy hour displayed on the marquee off of 45 but I presumed it was for the consumers of the home building contractors. So Now that that mystery is solved and I now know an actual restaurant is onsite… onto the grub. I came in pretty early, around 11:15 so service was quick and not a crowd so I was happy about that. Service was quick, our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly which is also appreciated. I ordered the bacon bacon burger which was AWESOME and HUGE(for me) I added an avocado and fried egg for $ 1 extra and I have posted a picture. They have a bacon jam— of course my curiosity was going– but I opted for it on the side which was a good decision bc it has a bit of a sweet taste which I do not like to mix with my burger. Homemade chips, fried black eyes peas and a cold blue moon. Hit the spot! I would give this five stars but bc the person I was with ordered pasta and it came out too salty(between the sausage and salt) so she sent it back and ordered brisket quesadillas which were very good. All in all, I will be back and I’m especially gonna check out the happy hour with some friends which has $ 2 beers, $ 3 wines and $ 4 bites plus live music!

We may have been in on an OFF day but I was Very Dissatisfied with my experience at Main Restaurant. Let me start by stating that when we arrived there were only 4 tables plus the bar available. There was a large group taking up all the tables against the long wall, which had fished eating and waiting to pay when we were seated. Only One table of 4 had not received their order. We received our drink orders quickly but had to wait 10 – 15 minutes to place our meal order while our waitress took care of the checks of the large party. When we placed or food order I ordered the Southern Chopped Cobb Salad, and my dinning companion ordered the Portobello Mushroom Burger. It took well over 35 minutes to receive or meals. While waiting, the waiter gave us a tiny bowl, of what I believe were supposed to be Fried Black Eye Peas. All it tasted like was SALT. The Portobello was what I would considered WELLDONE. It was edible but I have seen and eaten much much better. Now to the Southern Chopped Cobb Salad $ 12 As describe in the menu: Artisan romaine, fried all-natural chicken breast, tomato, avocado, cucumber, bacon, house-made blue cheese, pickled red onions, croutons Lets start with the Artisan Romaine, Yes it did have romaine, but I believe the majority of the salad was iceberg. Fried All-Natural Chicken Breast — When my plate arrived the chicken was a dark brown, with a thick heavy batter. When I tried to cut a nugget in half, the outer shell shattered, sending bits of coating across the table, revealing a dry over-cooked piece of uneatable chicken. I called the waitress over and she said they would cook me another batch. It took approximately 5 minutes to get my new order(original 35+). Much lighter in batter and color. It was an acceptable chunk of fired chicken. Could have used a little seasoning. The chicken pieces were an irregular size and shape. It almost looked like they tore a half breast into pieces instead of cutting. Tomato: Small Sliced Grape Tomatoes were good. Avocado: Usually when I order a salad with Avocado, I expect an avocado to be cut in half and the halves be cut into slices. What I received were very thinly sliced avocado slivers(¼“x½″). Looks like they can do 10 – 12 salads per avocado. Cucumber: Probably the best part of the salad. Bacon: I thought was part of the dressing. Barely detectable. House-Made Blue Cheese: Very thin and mild. Not much Blue Cheese Flavor. Pickled Red Onions: Second pest part of the salad. A little mild but not bad. Croutons: Missing. I had to ask my waitress for my croutons. Maybe be I caught them on an off day or the Chef’s first day on the job. In my opinion, No respectable Cheff would have let this chicken, or for that matter the portobello leave his kitchen the way they were cooked except via the trash. A good Wait staff should know the dishes and noticed the croutons were missing and the chicken was WAYYY over cooked. Based on Previous reviews, I had high hopes for this place. I will usually give a place a second chance to impress me, but I’m not sure I will in this case.

We tried this restaurant last night after seeing the great reviews. For the most part, the food was good. For appetizers, we tried the short ribs and crab cakes. Really liked the short ribs but didn’t think the crab cakes were all that great. Our entrees included scallops, shrimp and grits, meatloaf and roasted vegetable stack. The meatloaf was dry but all the other entrees were great. Desserts were great as well! Delivery of food was slow even though were only four other parties in the restaurant.

We just had our fourth meal at Main Restaurant at Main Street America. We are always greeted warmly by the manager and the cozy but modern environment is unique for Houston, especially on I-45. The risotto appetizer is so delicious and I think the tomato bisque with fresh crab meet is done really well. It looked like the braised ribs were very popular but I went with the scallops and they were done very well. The dessert menu is incredible and we completed our dinner with pumpkin pound cake. I definitely recommend this restaurant along with an experience at Main Street America for a really enjoyable evening.

I have been there twice already since its opened. Lunch & Dinner. Had Deviled eggs, Flat Iron and Burnt Carm Pudding for dinner. Lunch was a marinated all natural chicken with veggies and carrot ginger soup. Outstanding! Tricia was our waitress and a delight! Met the Chef Lawrence and Head ops guy Iain. Everyone was so gracious! Nice wine list too. Kid friendly also! Can’t wait to go back!

I went here to check out MainStreet America and stumbled upon this Restaruant inside it. The menu is full of great choices and has well priced wines. The food was delicious and service good. They give you these delicious little pickles green beans and carrots after you sit down. Thought this was a nice change from bread. This is a hidden gem! Best news I can come back and eat, even if I’m not going to your the park! Will be back!
