Out of pure curiosity we dropped by Crooked Ferret just to check things out. Pulling up into the drive way made us extremely skeptical as I am positive the meteor that killed the dinosaurs hit there. After finding a place to park, we just sat in the car and rolled the windows down to listen to whatever the band was playing. We heard nothing. But since I was there, I decided I just had to check it out. First impression upon opening the door was to immediately turn around. I was totally walking as if I was entering a haunted house. All wood everything, and that night was Texas Hold em night. I continued in and looked to the left and saw a really impressive outdoor patio with a stage for the band. I must admit, that site made me feel better. I place an order for drinks just to test the waters. They were, just okay but the bartender(yeah she was cute) was very friendly and honest about described to me how things usually are there. I asked about food and she told me they do serve food but but its close to what you would order if you were drunk. I was like, «so you saying you don’t have a a cook.» She says«yes, we don’t have a cook.» So I did not order anything on that note. We sat on the patio and I felt comfy. Hungry and comfy. She brought our drinks to us and I was tempted to order some wings, but after talking to her again, I decided to just leave and come back once the band started playing. So an hour later I come back as promised and the place was exacty like I left it… empty but with a pretty nice band. There may have been 10 of us outside listening to a band in a space that could clearly fit 50+ people plus standing room. The night was nice so I stayed for the evening listening to some great talent under the trees. It was bugless, and no smell of smoke. I had a great time, and would return. Somehow they should devise a way to get people from the inside to be able to listen to the band on the outside. The Texas Hold em side was pretty full. I give it 3 stars for the patio and the courtesy of the bartender. Get a chef and a good kitchen crew and then we can talk about the other 2 stars.

What a cool place! Our bartender took care of us, I believe someone said she was an owner too. Knew my name after 10 minutes– what I was drinking and who I was buying for. They have a great selection of local bottled beers– yeah! Fireman’s #4! Full bar. I hope they get more of the local stuff on draft. They do have munchie food that was very inexpensive– I suggested the sampler platter– nice amount and only $ 9! I’ll certainly be back.
