This is the absolute WORST bar on the Northwest side, if you wanna call it that. The owner doesn’t appreciate the patrons that do come in his venue, he calls them losers. I guess he’s too busy with taking care of his Sugar Baby Stripper to actually address the problems that the venue has. The air conditioning doesn’t work and hasn’t in some time(If I wanted to sweat while trying to drink a beer I’d get a chair and sit in my own lawn), they don’t have proper glassware, can’t keep staff do the his negligence and let’s not forget to mention the ROACHES that will crawl up your leg. I know this review must sound like I have a personal problem with the owner but that’s not the case. When your a Bar owner or even a manager, you have a responsibility to your patrons that the place is sanitary, the staff has the tools to work with to do their job and the patrons are happy. This guy must have opened this bar as a tax write off cause there is NOWAY that this place under the current owner will last besides the fact he can’t even pay the entertainment companies for«trying to bring people in». I am ashamed as a veteran in the industry, that some of my friends have been in this place All I can do i say«STAYAWAY»!!!

Had I left 10 minutes prior, the stars on this review would be like day & night. Came here on a Saturday night… ordered one of those massive swamp drinks that took forever to finish. Had some super hot ass wings and some crawfish. I hated those wings but if you like em burning your mouth, perfect for you! The crawfish was pretty good surprisingly. The bar wasn’t packed at all, low key spot with a DJ and karaōke. After that big ass drink and shots started kicking in… I think our party had a real niiiice time. But according to the owner’s review(that I flagged and had taken down) our party wouldn’t leave, was drunk off our asses and grinding on each other like wild animals!!! rotflmaooooo that was childish in response to the negativity that was witnessed and updated on Unilocal!but it sounds like a damn good time to me! I honestly don’t know what time they close but I don’t recall hearing a last call and the lights come on to signify closing. I was nice, but I’m never so drunk idk wtf is going on. No comment on the other part, that’s just how we roll… Ok so here’s where the night gets messed up. I heard some dishes or something glass crash. That’s a normal sound so I didn’t look around. I’ll openly admit I did not see the owner hit/throw something at his wife/female employee(idk who the chick was I heard conflicting things) but a minute or so after the noise, 2 chicks in our party who were at the bar came back to our reserved section and said, «he just knocked the f— out that chick.» I looked over and saw some very aggressive stance and convo. Looked like another guy was trying to calm him down & intervene but the owner yelled for him to stay out of it. I knew it was time to go!!! And that’s exactly what we did… left immediately! I’m glad I don’t have any super bad images in my head like the other 2 ladies but I definitely cannot support an establishment that would do something even remotely like that in front of patrons. I can only speak for me but after that, I can’t spend my money here. It’s honestly too bad as we all enjoyed ourselves up into that point.

My friend and I came here on a Thursday afternoon for Happy Hour. The older women bar-tending was nice but had no idea what she was doing. She couldn’t name any specials or answer any questions regarding the bar. I’m assuming she must have picked the music also because I felt like I should be wearing a poodle skirt since«Please Mr. Postman» was playing. My friend attempted to play the Internet jukebox from her phone but the music she paid for began playing in the restaurant(not bar) area. There was a women a few stools down from us who could hardly sit up she was so «turnt up». I have no idea why the bartender would have served her to that point.(Or how anybody could get drunk to 1960s jams) The drinks were okay but nothing special… This place needs to step it’s game up if it wants to stay in business. I am beginning to think this location is just doomed.

Well it seems I reviewed this place a bit too soon. Although the food and drinks have been good, I am compelled to now update my review. After what will now be my last visit here; I was forced to endure such poor judgment and choice of behavior by management to resort to physically causing harm to an employee behind the bar as she was attending to customers. I ignored the red flags from my previous visits here in hopes that this could be a a new spot for me to frequent. There is no food or drink good enough, to convince me to return here or to support this place. I just don’t feel safe in this establishment. If you do dare to enter, just keep your eyes open. You may witness a glass intentionally being thrown across the bar as I unfortunately had to see and was luckily missed by the debri of flying glass.

You know it really saddens me to have to update my review about Junkyard and especially so soon. I find myself speechless while writing this update because I’ve been seeing this place as a beacon of light for a night spot to spend much, much time at. Where I still stand by my previous review about the food and the drinks and the vision the owner has for this place, I feel I’m morally forced to remove all stars from here due to our recent experience. Okay so I refused to update my review when a couple of our visits were plagued with some type of drama by the end of the night. Its a bar after all so some things are expected. But you don’t expect it from the staff and that’s where all the drama had been. Again, I find it even hard to write such a review as this because of the hopes and respect I had for this place. But then there is the last straw effect. So how many stars are worth eye witnessing hands being laid on a female employee of yours right in front of customers and as she was making drinks and smiling and oblivious at the anger that was coming her way? All. Yeah, All. Trust me the plot gets allot thicker, but I just refuse to air much more than I already have. So because of these actions, I can’t support the best wings in Houston nor one of the freshest burgers. My wife refuses to set another foot in the doors after witnessing it so very close up. I really don’t think any woman who witnessed such, would continue that support either. So farewell Junkyard. Dangit! We really liked you guys too. Sigh. Duck…and Prosper.
