So I ordered food for delivery here today. Their customer service sucks. The driver that delivered the food was nice but the manager has no customer service. I thought we were being overcharged for our food. So I get the menu from my desk and had the driver look at it. He calls the restaurant and the girl who took my order tells me that I menu I had was old. I said ok but you did not inform me that there will be a dollar charge on the 5 sodas that I thought came with the meal. So she calls the manager. She gets on the phone saying that I had an old menu and that the soda no longer come with the meal. I informed her that I did not know that since it had been months since we ordered from them. So she tells me that she will give me free sodas next time. I told her that I will not be ordering from them since I did get overcharged for my co-workers meal. She kept telling me that she couldn’t take it out since it was already rung up. Actually you can just re-ring up all the items. I ended up giving the sodas to the driver to take back to her and called it a day. Other than the poor customer service, the food was okay. I even liked my beef with broccoli.

The best Chinese food in town!!! Love the fired chicken wings !!! one thing that I don’t like is the restaurant is just sooooo small and dark. Everything else is just fine. The food is perfect, the price is cheap.

I ordered the pad thai and it was absolutely disgusting! The meat was undercooked, the noodles overcooked, the tofu was overfried and greasy and the peanutbutteee sauce tasted like peanut buttee straight out of the jar! It was so thick and heavy it literally made me sick! I picked out three small pieces of shrimp and for very tiny pieces of beef, scraped off the sauce and immediately it was so bad it made me vomit. I contacted them immediately and had the remainder of the food sent back to the restaurant along with two other orders from two other coworkers who were very dissatisfied with their meals. Everyone else’s meal was refunded but mine. I had to physically leave work and go down to the restaurant to get a refund. the women behind the counter argued with me and my Co workers and told me that they counted how much meat was left over in the remainder of the container, which was over 90% full, and decided that I ate more than two pieces of meat so I wasn’t due a refund. They threw away the food I returned and refused to give me my money back. I had to stand and argue with them for over 10 minutes to get her to give me my money back!!! They TRIEDTOKEEPMYMONEYAFTERTHROWINGAWAYTHEFOOD!!! Even after she agreed to give my money back she decided she wasn’t going to give the entire amount back because shrimp is expensive she says and it cost more than noodles to replace so she was going to keep $ 2!!! WHAT!!! I WILLMAKESUREEVERYONEKNOWSNOTTODOBUSINESSWITHTHEM! Since I asked for a refund they told me to never order from them again! That’s fine by me! I don’t like leaving work sick from eating disgusting food!!!

I got the sesame chicken. Best deal in the area. The workers I’m guessing are also the owners. Super friendly. Definitely coming back again!

Always great food! They have lunch specials all day that are definitely worth the price! Lunch combo comes with rice, spring roll, your choice of soda and main entrée for only 6.99. You can add soup for only 50 cents more. The hot and sour soup is my favorite! Employees are always nice, polite and speedy service. & food is super delish!

Express… well that about sums it up. You get what you pay for. Now, I have eaten many things from low price diners that knocked my socks off, I don’t need fancy smancy to get my grub on. Unfortunately I won’t be back. I read the reviews as all good Unilocalers do and found this place close to me where I was running errands. My order was correct, the lady was very nice and sweet. The only good thing I thought was the Hot/Sour soup, warmed my cockles. I ordered the beef lo mein, asked for it spicy. I got it spicy but nothing else with it. There really was no taste to it, I know it was fresh as I waited about 15 minutes for it and when I got home it was still very very hot. Sadly only saw lo mein, and a smidgeon of beef. Also order chicken wings just as I am not big on rolls, they were greasy and had a bit of coconut taste to them, but hey, they are chicken wings, I know what to expect. It was nice to try, but I didn’t finish the meal, and if you know me… I usually NEVER purposely not finish food, unless I just don’t really like it. Maybe I am just spoiled as close to my home(not from Houston) there is a Bo Ling, non chain restaurant, whose Lo Mein makes you want to change your last name to Lee, Ying or Gu-fuud. Still measuring it up against that place as well as FuFu café in Chinatown in Houston. 2 stars as the Lady was very nice.

I went to D Wok Express one night and I didn’t like my first impression — not a single Chinese character on the menu nor on the wall; nada, zilch, not even a Chinese painting. I thought ‘uh oh’. After stripping out my usual expectations in Chinese food, this was just a-OK for me. My first visit, when I was about to order, their phone rang. That was a long phone order. The clock was ticking. Then, I asked another lady for help, the phone rang again. At this time, I was there nearly 15 minutes and still not ordered yet. After she hung up the phone, she told me that I need to wait 10 – 15 minutes for the food, «this is not a fast food restaurant. Everything has to be made to order.» I replied, «Don’t worry about it. I’ll come back tomorrow». So, I kept my word and went back the next day. I had to make sure I had enough time to dine in. I immediately ordered vegetable chopsuey, wonton soup and a hot tea. The tea came in a small teapot and a coffee cup with distorted Chinese printing. The soup was served in a cereal bowl with fried wonton strips in a cafeteria-style soup bowl. The rice was in another cafeteria-style soup bowl. I was looking at the mixed matched utensils and melamine dinnerware on my table. I thought, «oh boy, this would not be the place to have your first date.» The Food — * Tea was bland because the lukewarm water couldn’t brew the tea bag. *Failed* * Wonton was good and broth tasted just right. However, I don’t know what the wonton strips were for. I almost sprinkle some sugar on top to make myself a desert. * Steamed rice was fluffy and aromatic. *Excellent* * Chopsuey was the challenge part — Broccoli was so hot and it burned my tongue. Other vegetables were less hot. Celery had pineapple-flavored sweetness on it. Sugar peas were crunchy. Flavor on the sauce was pretty good, without any traces of MSG. It was nice to chat with staff about some interesting demographic info. Their clientele is mostly Spanish-speaking customers and rarely seeing Asians. She was bragging about their best selling point — the volume. I complimented on the photos of the«all day lunch specials» being a good value. For only $ 6.99, it comes with entrée, fried rice, egg roll and a canned soda. It’s discounted at $ 6.49, if you ordered by 4 pm.

I’m covering for my friend’s receptionist for a couple of weeks while I find some full-time work, so I get to explore and discover new lunch places in the Memorial area for the time being. I wanted to find a close, quick, delicious and affordable lunch option. And since I was eating alone(which is pretty rare), I wanted something unhealthy :) I Googled a few places close by and saw that this place was not only Americanized Chinese(I love!), but fit the criteria that I wanted. So off I went! 3 minutes later, I arrive at a strange place with pictures of their food posted everywhere. I walked in and immediately saw a To-Go window for quick pick-up for customers who called in. I sat down at one of the 8 tables inside and waited for someone to take my order. BTW, their lunch special runs all day, every day! Just pay a little more if it’s after 4:00 pm. So, the lady who took my order(who was also running the cash register, answering the phones and giving the pick-up customers their food) was pretty busy, so I had to wait a few minutes before being able to place an order. I decided to go with the lemon chicken, to which the waitress said, «You mean sweet and sour?»(they’re actually next to each other on the same line in the menu) «No… lemon chicken?» «Oh okay… we can do that for you.» I was kinda confused because she made it seem like an off-menu item when it was right there. She quickly left and attended to other things. When I got my food, my jaw dropped. A HUGE platter of freshly-fried chicken. I literally only ate half and took the rest to go. I was kinda disappointed about the fried rice… rice, soy sauce, and maybe one bit of egg? But it wasn’t the worst I’ve had. The chicken was freshly fried, juicy with a perfectly thin layer of batter that stayed crunchy throughout the entire meal. I could’ve done without the artificially-sweet lemony sauce. Maybe I should’ve ordered the sweet and sour after all. The lunch special also came with a fried spring roll, which was delicious and also fresh. All of that food, plus a soda for $ 6.49. Really, not a bad deal at all. And I didn’t realize this until after the menu was taken away, but if you add $.50, I guess you can also get soup and/or a wonton? Something like that. Since there was only one lady doing everything, she was pretty busy and distracted, and was short on a few occasions. But I don’t really expect to be treated like a queen at a hole in the wall, especially one owned by Asians. All the criteria I wanted was, for the most part, fulfilled, and I will happily come back before my couple of weeks working in the area is over.

Ordered delivery. The food is somewhat pricey but it is good quality. I ordered Orange Chicken and it was real chicken breast. The woman that answered stated 45 minutes for delivery and it only took about 25. Overall the food was good and I was satisfied with the quality however $ 9.95 for Orange Chicken and $ 10.95 for Sesame Chicken seemed a bit high for the portion size. I would recommend this place if you are looking to stay in and save gas and time by staying in.

Not my favorite. The wonton soup was sweet, the hot and sour soup should be named sweet and sour soup, the kung pao shrimp was very saucy and made with carrots, bell pepper and onions, and the spicy singapore noodles were dry and over cooked, stuck together and broke apart. Will not be returning.

I received a menu on my door one day and stuck it to the fridge. I very rarely eat Chinese because a few of my go to places have closed. We were craving Lo Mein and decided to give this place a try since the menu boasted white meat chicken and low cholesterol oil. We ordered the take out delivery and they were right on time with in 30 – 25 minutes as promised. There was a TON of food. We always order too much because we want a variety. It was enough to feed at least 4 people and right at $ 30. We ordered the following: It is $ 2.99 extra per person to turn an entrée into a family meal. This comes with: Won Ton soup, VERY good. Possibly the best I have had in a long time. It came in a tasty broth with chopped Napa cabbage, 1 large won ton and some carrots. 1 large egg roll, pretty standard egg roll but good. 1 crab puff, one of the best crab puffs I have ever had, it actually had REAL crab inside. 1 fried jumbo shrimp, fried with panko breading. I think it was frozen but still a nice edition. Upgrade container from white rice to fried, this fried rice was pretty blah. Rice, soy sauce, fried with the tiniest amount of egg. I wasn’t even sure there was egg in it at first. Not a single green onion or piece of meat. Next time I will just ask them to give me the white rice. Our entrees: Beef and Broccoli: This was the one thing I didn’t care for and wouldn’t order it again. The meat was rubbery, not tough but the texture was off putting. The sauce it was in was delicious and the broccoli was fresh, crisp and not over cooked just the way I like it. Small order of combo Lo Mein with shirmp, beef and chicken: This was pretty good, the noodles were a bit soft for my liking but I would order this again, with out the beef. maybe just chicken. The shrimp in the noodles small but not microscopic. Sweet and Sour Chicken: This came in a large to go styrofoam container and was full to the brim with crisp hot chicken. The pieces were large. Even after it sat out for a while they maintained their crispy texture and didn’t get soggy. The sweet and sour sauce was alright. I feel they could have done a better job with this but once its on the chicken its not that big of a deal I guess. Over all I wouldn’t order the beef from here, I would stick with the chicken. Everything was really fresh and the service was very good. I think next time we will go to the actual restaurant just to check it out. I am really glad we gave them a try!

Very good Chinese food. We had the General Tso’s Chicken and the Sesame Chicken as well as crab puffs and fried rice.(Had to check out the basics you know). All the ingredients were very fresh and tasty. I love crab puffs and these did not disappoint! I’m looking forward to checking out more menu items. This place has only been open for a couple of weeks and did not jump out at us when we went looking for hit. It is located right next to El AHorra mexican grocery at Blalock and Kempwood.
