Dac Hung is as good as it gets in this area. I was craving Chinese food at 1am. Fattening I know but a girl’s gotta eat. I ordered a General Tso’s chicken and house lo mein. Honestly, some of the best Chinese food I’ve had and I didn’t have to get out of bed to go get it. They delivered to me! Summary: Great Chinese food and they deliver past midnight! Love this place!

We decided to stop by after work 2 weeks ago at a new place. The restaurant is nice, clean, and have a very nice waitress. She recommend us some good dishes to try and the price really can’t be beat! We been coming back every chance we get since.

This has got to be the worst«Chinese food» I have ever had. I ordered Mongolian Beef & Hot and Sour soup. They said delivery would be about 45 minutes. 1 hr &20 minutes later it finally arrives. I have never seen Mongolian Beef like this. Beef w cabbage, hot peppers & mushrooms. I call & they assure me it is Mongolian Beef??? Beef is extremely hot, chewy & very fatty. The soup is so greasy you can see it around the sides of the bowl. Awful. They have a captive audience for those flying in after 11:00 pm, the hotel(Hilton Houston North) tells you they are the only game in town at that time. Next time I’ll stick to peanuts, pretzels & cookies!

Do not order for delivery. They will tell you 45 minutes. You are lucky if you can get your food in 90. Your hotel will have their menu, but there are restaurants all around within walking distance. We did order after 11 pm, but if you can’t handle the late night rush, don’t take that much order! Quality of Food is definitely very low by Houston standard. Noodle is all soft and mushy; fried rice on the other hand is hard. With customer service like this, not sure I want to visit this place in person, during the day.

Ordered at 12:45am after our flight was diverted to Houston due to bad weather. Was told 45 minutes. Never came. Line continually busy, couldn’t get status update. Gave up and family went to bed hungry. Woken up at 2:40am with the food delivery. Refused. Got another call at 3:00 from the restaurant asking us to accept the order for $ 10 off. Seriously?! Thanks for the worst takeout experience of my life!!!

It’s great that this place offers fresh pit roasted pork and duck on regular days of the week instead of having to only be able to get it on Sunday’s from Thanh Hung or Bellaire. It’s true it’s very good! But I’ll only be coming in to order portions of the meat to go because the sit down food here is lacking. The wonton noodle soup came in a super large bowl with tons of soup but the broth was bland and lacked the rich fatty goodness you expect. The sliced pieces of BBQ pork were super chewy and unappetizing. The combo plate of BBQ meat with rice was also disappointing because though the meat was good, everything else was bland. I don’t think broccoli is a side vegetable one wants to eat with this dish but there it was as a side. I understand that English is not most of the servers first language so I spoke Vietnamese to them but even then they acted like they didn’t completely understand what I was saying and did not check up on our table at all nor bring us the check. Save your time and just order the meat to go.

Ok, there seems to be some discretion on the first two reviews that the duck was«ice» cold. Based on what another reviewer explained and me asking my mother she too confided that duck is supposedly eaten at room temperature but CAN be heated according to personal preference. That is the reason for the 5 instead of the 4 star that I really rate this place as, offsetting the unfairness on that. Now that we got that out of the way may I warn you if you are squeamish at seeing hanging duck carcases in the window… then you might not want to drive by here, happy Holloween by the way and if you are a regular of any Asian Town(I detest being called China town, we’re not all Chinese!) then you probably are immune to the scenery. Parking is a little tight at busy hours, but the restaurant is not really that big but to the side there are enough spaces to fill a stadium full of people. Lock your valuables etc, you’re in the wrong part of town. The interior is CLEAN, new and even the restroom was pretty kept up clean. I wonder if this was a fluke, but I think not. The place is semi-divided between a restaurant and an ordering cafeteria type counter where you order your roast piglet or duck but it’s all the same business. The menu is simple, the prices are low and the service is punctual. Who said these people were mean? We experienced nothing but harmonious service that would never let our water levels falter and the only rejection I got was you have to pay at the register, there are no tickets to bring to the table, minor! Mother had the«Vietnamese beef stew» and it had a good taste, not salty. It surprised me because I thought these dishes were automatically made with curry since toasted bread is accompanied with it, but I have been misinformed by myself all of these years, thank you mother. I also ordered the stew and an order of the grilled pork with rice which did have a good flavor. Each of these dishes were $ 5.50, you can eat here all day and not break the bank. The grilled pork was charred nicely with a proportion of rice that accompanied it by the side via«packed rice bowl turned upside down and tapped to let rice unstick», you’ve seen the ploy before. A few fork lifts of marinated lettuce on the side cars this dish, see posted picture. I snapped a few pictures of the menu except for the other side which they offer frozen juices, coffee, orange juice and such. Thank you for reading and I hope your visit here was as good as ours. Unilocal it up!

My parents begged me to pick up vit quay and heo quay from this place they say it’s comparable to Bellaire location. Inside looks very clean, however also empty. Me and my brother were the only ones besides the staff. Workers knew English but you can tell they speak better Vietnamese. We sat and waited for our order. Usually I would expect them to offer a glass of water while we wait, they didn’t and that’s okay too. Reading previous reviews I didn’t expect much. I’m just here for the food! 1 whole duck, 2 lbs of pork belly. They over cut the pork belly to 2.5 lbs. it’s cool it just got it anyway. Total cost was $ 38. Was this pricy I don’t know my mom always orders this. I can tell you that the duck was pretty greasy, and it taste better in between a fresh loaf of bread. The crispy skin of the pork was super crunchy and hard.

I’m pretty picky in my food choices. That being said, the place is clean and simple, basic Asian BBQ store front. The employees are very nice and informative. There is a language barrier with the guy that cuts the meat(he doesn’t speak any English, but is very nice). Yet, the cashier speaks English! Yay! The roasted duck is very good here, better than some of the places in bellaire ***coughs**coughs, Sinh Sinh** The queen chicken(yellow chicken) is good, but not the best. The rice that comes with the yellow chicken is rather dry and not the right color. It’s usually a light yellow bc it’s cooked in chicken broth. The garlic sauce that comes with it is not as salty as the other places like Com Ga Houston, but that’s okay with me. The duck sauce is just wonderful. Also, they serve hu tieu or mi(Vietnamese rice noodle or egg noodle soup), phở(Vietnamese noodle soup), bo kho(Vietnamese beef stew), combo rice dishes, fried rice, and other types of intestines(duck’s/chicken’s hearts, pig’s intestines, etc.). My family likes their soups! ***FYI, the roasted duck, yellow chicken, intestines are meant to be eaten at room temperature, not hot. Yet, it can be heated up if you prefer. Personal preference really. Lastly, I gave this place four stars because of the roasted duck and the friendly service! Try this place out! It will save you the drive to bellaire and from the Asian drivers! I know I’m one of them!

This restaurant is terrible. It was hands down one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered the roasted duck and rice plate, and when it came out, the duck was ice cold. They hang the meat in the windows and presumably under heating lamps, thus it has no reason to be cold when initially brought to the table. Upon being sent back to be replaced as offered by the waiter, it came back out as the same duck served to me originally, but lukewarm. They put the plate into the microwave to warm it up, but not even for an adequate amount of time. The skin become all soft and nasty subsequently. The rice was overcooked and like mush. The service was absolutely terrible and rude. I am not coming back to this restaurant.

Decided to stop here on a whim. I had been driving past this restaurant when it was under construction but today I noticed that there was a grand opening sign. I was so psyched and couldn’t wait to taste the food! The employees were so sweet and begged us to sit down and eat our food as opposed to taking it out. We obliged, and glad we did! My shrimp fried rice was fresh and hot, and the waiter was very attentive. Next time I will be trying out wonton soup with shrimp and even a bowl of Phở. They also have BBQ pork, and various other options. The décor is pretty simplistic but nice and relaxing. The clear windows are a nice touch as well. I will definitely be back! P. S. This location is a new location, and I believe the one on Bellaire is the original.
