I am a big baby when it comes to needles and Kenny Johnson, who administered my MRI w/contrast did a great job. The needle insertion was relatively painless and quick. No jabbing and he got it right the first time. People who can administer IVs/contrast like this cannot be praised enough. Everything else went very smoothly with my visit and the staff was quick and efficient. Even the MRI process itself wasn’t too bad as long as you like the sounds of late-90s Autechre. It was strangely relaxing. And as for expenses, this place was much cheaper than Saint Luke’s. $ 1,500 less for my contrast MRI vs. what it would have cost at the hospital.

If you have to use them pay with a credit card so you can fight any unauthorized charges. My doctor sent me there early in the year so I had not paid my deductible yet. Diagnostic MRI central charged me as if I owed the ENTIRE deductible, but then held the claim for a month. My doctor filed his claim first so Diagnostic MRI central received a full payment from my insurance company. I had to pay more to my doctor to cover the deductible, then Diagnostic MRI central would not refund the amount they owed me. Then Diagnostic MRI central kept trying to charge the insurance company again for the SAME services. The claim went through the insurance company THREETIMES. Diagnostic MRI central was unable to get extra money out of the insurance company though — the bill was paid once only, the fair amount Diagnostic MRI central agreed to in their contract with the insurance company. Fortunately I paid with a credit card so I filed a claim with my credit card company and Diagnostic MRI central received a chargeback. Diagnostic MRI central still tried to fight the credit card chargeback even though they already were paid — so I had to send in all the documentation I had from the insurance company and the credit card company sided with me.
