So this is a mixed review. First time at a Dickey’s. 7pm on a Saturday night so prime dinning hour. To start with they were out of ribs. Then they were out of turkey breast. The pickle and onion self-serve containers were empty. The service was very careless. None of the three employees seemed to care. They acted as if they were counting the minutes until they could go home. No «thank you» or «hello». Now for the food. Jalapeño beans were good and the coleslaw was also good. Fresh and not soggy. The spicy cheddar sausage was spicy but the cheddar cheese in the inside gave it a texture that I was not fond of. Good taste, odd texture. Brisket was not as moist as it could have been but with sauce it was fine. The pulled pork was Ali a little dry but with sauce it was fine. At the end the soft-serve ice cream was not frozen. Sooooooooooo like I said mixed. Not horrible, not great… OK

Ok it is a barbecue place I should have listened to the reviews. I’m not terribly picky about bbq but I want baby back ribs– and they were out, they were also out of turkey. They DO have a sign about having meats til they run out but why run out? Make enough. The brisket I did have was ok– we aren’t talking county line or even Rudy’s. Pickles and onions– empty and we finished eating before there was more. Ice cream not frozen. Kinda pricey. And agreed with the service– who is the adult/manager at the place? The meat cutter was the only one who knew what he was doing. The cashier obviously new. I ordered the«onion tangles» which came out halfway through my meal–«they forgot to drop them» Huh? it wasn’t even busy. Shame because the food wasn’t terrible but with all the bbq places in houston I won’t be back

Sadly, I didn’t enjoy this place. Meat wasn’t great. The chicken was very delicious, but my husband is used to having bbq chicken on the bone. They gave us very small portions for a bbq place and the price you spent wasn’t worth it. We will not be going back.

The sliced beef brisket sandwich was pretty good, although kinda fatty. The potato salad was good as well as the baked beans. The bbq sauce is pretty good too. Not overpriced as some bbq places can be. AND they have a free ice cream cone machine :-) The 2 employees there were both very friendly and helpful in making suggestions. I would definitely return some time.

I love their BBQ. It’s the best I have had in a while next to my mama’s own cooking. I love how clean and orderly the place is. Also the staff is nice and polite. Their bakers are the bomb and I am totally going back again. Plus they’re super close to home too!

I’ve eaten here quite a few times and there’s a recurring theme. No matter what time or day it is, they’re always out of several meats and sides. The condiments and condiment containers are rarely fully stocked. Tonight was no exception. They were out of a couple meats & sides, no pickles or containers at the condiment bar, no cones for the free ice cream. We tried to eat here last Monday night. It was 8PM and they were out of 4 different meats. There were 5 sides that were not available. The real kicker was THEYWEREOUTOFBBQSAUCE! How does that happen at a BBQ restaurant? They get 3 stars because the food they did have available was pretty tasty.

The turkey is delicious, the big baker was hard as a rock. The green beans had absolutely no flavor with NOBACON in them. I did not like the fact that we were told«NOBACON» at THIS location. Will not go back because of this. Who heard of NOBACON bits on a baked potato and also NOBACON in the green beans. If you won’t sell bacon please don’t put it on the menu. or at least, when it’s ordered online let the BACONLOVER know in advance so they may cancel the order.

I was really impressed with Dickeys. the food was awesome. The ribs were fantastic, smoked with hickory and for just the right amount of time. The brisket was amazing, the bbq beans were also really good, as was the potato casserole. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. You couldn’t ask for more. I’ll Def be back.

Dickey’s is one of the few BBQ chain restaurants that has a real pit smoker on location, and they put it to good use. I really like the ribs. They are tender and flavorful. I cover them with the spicy BBQ sauce. I also like the variety of home style side dishes such as fried okra, baked potato casserole, and jalepeno beans. Their Deals of the Day are at great value. For around $ 10 you get an entrée, two sides, and a drink. The staff at this location is very helpful and friendly. Don’t forget to get the free ice cream for dessert.

Had high hopes of finding a Dickey’s close to me after eating @ their Tomball location, which was great! Had a chopped brisket salad there & was wanting to duplicate that yummy taste. First off, went on a Sat. night around 6 – 6:30p and only 1 other couple there & were leaving. During the time I was there, a couple of drive-thru’s but no other customers until I was leaving. The chopped beef salad here was ½ the size of the one I got in Tomball(they put huge salad on a metal tray, this location was a ½-size To-Go container w/salad. I thought that was weird but ate anyway & then realized I was getting jipped since I paid the full price. No sweet tea was available(I commented & counter staff said it was brewing). Condiment counter was dirty & condiment cups were missing(only lids). No one cleaned up the whole time I was there & the sweet tea became available, only as I was about to leave. I so wished this place had been better. I think if I’m in the area, I’d stop again… maybe, unless someone suggests a better bbq place.

O tried thier chicken and thought it’s bbq whole chicken but was surprised when sliced pieces of boneless chicken breast came. Cery disappointed because it was very dried and burned. My potatoes salad and onions slaters were good though. My son liked his pulled pork poboy this time… free icecream…

Got to-go food from here for the first time, was hoping for an easy go-to BBQ joint close to home. Unfortunately, I won’t be back. For $ 32 I had a 3 meat and a 2 meat plate plus 2 pecan pies. My two meat plate was missing a meat, the brisket was dry, the fried okra was too salty, pecan pie had hardly any pecans(it was mostly the sugary filling) and to top it off… I found a hair in it. Not worth $ 32. The only good part was easy order and pickup.

I love the ribs and I think it is called the baked potato casserole is the bomb. I like the chicken breast and brisket. Wow writing this is making me hungry for BBQ. The only thing sometimes the rolls is hard, but when it’s not it’s OK. I think Dickey’s and Spring Creek have the best ribs. And Dickey’s has the best brisket. Spring Creek’s is dry sometimes.(I have never had it dry at Dickey’s).

Actually went back after 10 months to see if I could finally try some food. Probably should have stayed home and saved the $ 13.53. I have upped my rating to 2 stars because customer service has actually improved(1 star) and the wait was not that long(0.5 stars) and another 0.5 stars because the food was actually edible but just not that good. Dry Brisket, Dry Pulled Pork and Dry Turkey Breast and all were served room temperature or less and looked like they were hacked with a cleaver. The texture of the meat reminded me of Big Daddy’s(another BBQ fail on Highway 6). The sauce made these meats edible. Sauce was the best thing in the place. I wanted Chicken Breast — Sorry out of Chicken Breast. Green Beans — Sorry out of Green Beans. C’mon guys, it’s Friday at dinnertime. Don’t you plan ahead? The most positive thing was the cashier lady(who also was the server, clean-up girl, etc.) who actually acted like she wanted to be working there. There were 2 other employees who were cutting the meat and making a real project of it. I really don’t know how they can survive selling this quality of BBQ.

Location was easy to get to and establishment was very clean. The ladies there were nice, ordered carryout and was ready in no time. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Made decision to stop after reading other reviews, would recommend. Two thumbs up.

We went on a Sunday evening because kids eat free on Sunday! My wife suggested we go(she goes regularly during lunch). She enjoyed her smokehouse salad and the kids really liked their BBQ turkey kids plate(the fries were a little salty for me, but good dipped in BBQ sauce). I had the three meat platter with pulled pork, chicken breast, and turkey breast. They offer three sauces(original, sweet, and spicy). I mixed the pork with spicy and it was fantastic! The turkey and chicken were good alone and the sauces put them over the top. The side Caeser salad was nothing special(just romaine, croutons, and cheddar cheese with dressing I had on the side) and I didn’t care for the roll, but the baked beans were delicious! Girls also liked their free ice cream at the end(the cones tasted a smidge stale, but they are free and from a box, so what do you expect?). All in all, a delicious dining experience(and did I mention the kids ate free b/c it was Sunday?)!

Pretty dang good bbq in my opinion. Not quite as good as Rudys or Carl’s but still a solid alternative. The side dishes are awesome too(fried okra ftw). They have sweet and spicy sauce to mix it up too!

My first time here, I tried the Saturday special(big barbecue beef brisket). It was delicious. I brought my family the next day and we really enjoyed our meals. My hubby loved the pulled pork, jalapeño sausage, and the jalapeño baked beans. I enjoyed the beef brisket and pulled porked. The rolls and the bbq sauces are very good! Your best bet is to visit during the weekday when they have their 8.99 special that includes meat, 2 sides, and a drink. Otherwise it can get pricey. If you’re craving bbq, this is definitely much better than papa’s bbq. Not bad for fast food.

First time here, came for lunch recommended by another coworker. Even tho the it’s pretty pricey I will admit the meal was good, I had the brisket and spicy cheddar sausage and the brisket was moist. I did enjoy the bbq sauce choices. The food is good but just pricey, they should revamp that because for $ 12 I feel I could have ate better. The attendant was very helpful and nice.

Ehhh. I wasn’t too impressed with the chopped beef sandwich or the baked potato. I’ve seen this name around Houston and thought to give it a try buy it was nothing special. The lady who took my order didn’t speak English very well and misunderstood my entire order so another lady had 2 come and take my order all over. Sad to say, I’d rather go to a Pappas chain and pay a bit more before returning here. Sorry Dickey’s, I tried but no bueno.

The most dysfunctional BBQ joint in Houston. As others have mentioned, one person does the actual work, one person cleans the dining room, and the other five people behind the serving line stand around and chat with each other. The absolute low point — there was a small line to order. One employee in the dining room tapped me on the shoulder while I was in line and said«excuse me sir, would you mind if I got in front of you?» Thinking he was working, I said sure, by all means. Turns out he was on his break and couldn’t be bothered to stand in line like the rest of us. Good food, but the place would benefit enormously by firing the entire staff.

Long wait time when not busy. Employees dont work as a unit. Meat station bogged down while others standing around doing nothing. Meat cutter was wiping sweat from his forehead and adjusting his glasses with his, gloved hand. I had to walk out at that point. I don’t know if their food is good or not, wont find out either. never going back there.

The line to order is arranged awkward and backwards to the line of employees preparing your order. There were four people, and only one person was actually spending very minute working if not overworked. He took in orders and prepared whatever it was. The manager and whoever was behind there was standing and could’ve used my wasted ten min of waiting to take my order. I felt a wave of dumbassery and non innovative idiots. Ribs were hard as a rock. I’ve been chewing on the same piece for an exhausting amount of time and energy. The portion for the Two Meat Plate is depressing compared to the price. Beans taste canned. Macaroni tastes cheap. My boyfriend ordered the polish sausage which was cold. The pulled pork tasted like someone regurgitated it onto my plate. BBQ sauce is not unique. The roll they give on the side is too small and too dense. Just sucks. Oh, the best thing about it was the to go cup and the bag.

Been waiting for them to open! Today had the big baker with meat and ice tea. Good food here! Love the sweet bbq sauce and the original. Finally a bbq place that actually is good!
