Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

Theses guys are fast and awesome, I hit a block of cement with wood which sent my car flying with wheel and undercarriage damage. I was able to get my tires and they went out of their way to secure that undercarriage. I was in and out in less than an hour and it was packed, they are like NASCAR pit crewmen. Thanks to Ernest great work!

Buyer beware! I have been using discount tire for a number of years and recently had an extremely unpleasant experience.
I went to get two new tires installed on my rear wheels. The installation was relatively quick but when reinstalling my plastic center caps the installers beat them repeatedly with a rubber mallet (as opposed to pressing them in by hand as designed). The result was that both center caps had cracked paint and were visibly beaten.
The sales staff did admit to their wrong doing and did reimburse me for the cost of new center caps but it took a while and I will have to get them repainted.
I do commend them on their customer service but I cannot recommend them do to the unprofessionalism demonstrated in damaging my wheels.
If you care about your valuable wheels I would look elsewhere.

I can’t thank the store enough. I had a small accident, but it messed the plastic around the wheel well and undercarriage. Todd not only checked to make sure my tire was ok, he also helped shore up the damage. Without him, I would have been stranded and possibly damaged my car much more. Thank you####

I had a leaking tire that went flat pretty quickly so I looked up the nearest DT since I was not in a familiar part of town.
They got me in and out fast on a weekend at midday so either the crowds had been handled or the rain kept some customers away. My only complaint is a similar one I have at all shops — wash your hands before you drive my car so my hands are not a mess from my steering wheel. It isn’t that hard to do and it will help your customers just a tiny bit more.

Terrible customer service, can’t order a tire to save their lives. Prepare to track your tire yourself, and spend hours in the waiting room.

Great customer service, very professional. Had me in and out in about 30 minutes, fixed my tire free of charge. Definitely going to buy new tires here when I need them

Excellent customer service and very quick turnaround on jobs. TPMS light came up and turns out it was a screw in my tire. Plugged at no cost and completed a quick safety inspection on tire tread and wear. Highly recommend.

These guys are always pretty much on point and quick. Got a tire replaced, under warranty (although I had to get a mismatch to my other three, because the manufacturer doesn’t make my tire anymore… sheesh).
Great attitudes and service!

As I was leaving my workplace, I noticed that I had a flat tire. Someone helped me add air so it was temporarily drivable. The time was ticking and Discount Tire closes at 6, so I went to the nearby NTB. They said it would take over an hour and would charge a fee so I left. It was raining and the traffic lights were out during rush hour. I decided to call Discount Tire just in case they were open later than what was online. I spoke to Manny, who was super friendly. He told me to go ahead and stop by, even though they were technically closed and wrapping things up. They weren’t able to fix it b/​c of where the nail was located. He showed me a used tire for a more budget friendly price, but I bought a new one for a little more. Overall, I liked how they went over and beyond and let me stop by after normal hours. I was able to save time and didn’t have to worry about making it home safe on a temporarily fixed tire.

Hands down the best service in Houston. Fast work and fair prices. Paying a little extra to know your covered by this location is worth it. Thanks guys!

I work close by and recently went in for a visit to get pricing on a wheel/​tire package. As with every DiscountTire I’ve ever visited, I was warmly greeted upon entering the store and and spoke with Miguel to go over several options I was looking at for my car.
I had already priced out the tires via the
web site and found the tire prices were a bit lower but Miguel matched their prices without question. I was able to get the order placed on a Thursday and by Tuesday of the next week, my wheels/​tires came in and they were able to get them installed within an hour upon my arrival (I arrived at 12:00pm).
I highly recommend this Discount Tire as all of my interactions/​dealings have been more than I expected.

Excellent! We bought 4 tires from this location today. The place is busy for sure, so make an appt if you can. They ALL work fast and act like they enjoy being there. and the Manager is Excellent. We watched Manager motivate everyone and help out in the shop! They offered us water while we waited and never pressured us to buy more expensive tires then the ones we could afford. We will go back to this location again!

Exceptional service. I had a suspected air leak in my rear tire. Dropped off my car for checkup and possible tire replacement. They buzzed me as soon as the car was ready and it was free of charge. Spent less that 5 minutes overall. Brian at the front desk was quick and friendly, so was the gentleman who inspected my car.

Workers were friendly enough and checked the pressure in my tires as requested, BUT as I walked around the vehicle trying to see if any sharp objects were in my tires, I saw several sharp objects lying on the ground (about half the sized of a nail, but ooks like a screw). Had to be from the establishment because they were all the same size. Houston’s roadways already provide a high probability of tire damage from potholes, sinkholes, and unclean streets. Can’t phantom pullling into a place that may increase my chances of shelling out money for new tires. Go someone else.

You know I must say that I have never had a bad experience at any Discount Tire. So it’s no surprise that I received exceptional customer service at this location. I did like the fact that an employee actually came to greet me while I was still in my car. I had a nail in my front driver’s side tire (actually they found two nails). They repaired the tire and did a rotation within about 30 minutes (give or take) for free. They told me that I would probably need to replace my tires this year, but there was no high pressure sales tactics, like some other tire places. I was back on the road and at work in no time.
Discount Tire has a loyal customer. Keep up the great work!

The staff at this Discount Tire is great. They are very knowledgeable and will explain issues they might find when working on your vehicle such as needing to go get your wheels aligned even though they can’t profit from it. They are usually pretty busy so I would advise making an appointment. You can tell that all the employees enjoy their job and when they have a long line with people waiting they really work fast to get people in and out!

Despite how busy this store is, the employees are friendly and usually on the ball. My husband and I have both bought our tires here and had other tire-​related services performed. If you make an appointment, things definitely go smoother. However, even without an appointment, I’ve found their estimated wait times to be accurate. I still would advise against visiting on a Saturday afternoon, though.
The location is easily accessible from the freeway and while you wait, you can walk to Wal-​Mart, Old Navy, Payless, Bath & Body Works, Ross or any of the other shops and restaurants in the nearby shopping centers.
There are free bottles of water in the mini fridge.

Please, allow me to share a very unpleasant experience that I received while purchasing tires at Discount Tire store (13 494 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77 040 location). For the past eight years I have been a loyal customer of the Discount Tire stores. With moving the store location would change too, but it was always the Discount Tire. So, on 01/​29/​2013, I have called the store (13 494 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77 040 location) and ordered two Kumho special tires for my BMW. This first two where purchased at the Discount Tire too. I spoke to Brian (store manager). Brian ordered tires to be delivered at the store in the afternoon, so I have asked to setup up am appointment at 4:30pm. He asked my phone number and said OK.
At 4:20 I arrived at the store and was greeted and helped by Tommy. Tommy told me that tires are not at the store and he has to locate them. In about 15 min later (4:35pm) he indicated that tires will be at the store at 5:30 pm. I explained to him that I have a conference call and lots of work to do. Tommy then went to look for an alternative options. At 4:50pm he told me that I have two options: 1. To wait for tires to be delivered. 2. To install a loaner tire on my car and comeback to re-​install the ordered tires (Kumho). I explained to Tommy, that both options are not acceptable, as it requires me to invest more time. I have asked Tommy to see if I can get a better deal on the tires, but the way, I have brought a competitor price that was $ 10/​tire cheaper. Tommy, has ask Brian on the deal and Brian said no (4:55) only price match, nothing more. Brian manager came to assist at this time, at the first glance he was arrogant and conversation tone was unpleasant. He stated that I am out of my mind and that I will never get a better deal that what they already done. I have explained Brian that after spending more than 45 min discussing the issue (it is 5:15 now) I would like to see what can be done — while asking I have called him my friend. Briand state (very mean) that I am not his friend and should not call him that. He told that he is not responsible for tires delivery, he stated that conversation that we had earlier he doesn’t recall and he didn’t make any appointments with me. The service was horrible!!! He claimed that I mad staff up and he is right!!! Then he told me that he will give me this: full price for tires, installation fees — what he did is he took off the warranty off never telling me — the additional warranty was never offered to me!!! He took it off just to make me quiet and basically I paid the full price! Not only that, but they have not match the competitors price! The service was completed and I have picked my car up at 6:30pm!
My point is, that I took time to write this review — the experience was so bad. Please, let me know if you have any questions.

dude! there is def a wait here, but it’s well worth it. customer service w/​tory is awesome. he went out of his way to double check the air pressure before i leave the parking lot and he was very helpful.

I have been to this tire store on several occasions, it is right by my house. I have had nothing but exemplary service here. A few examples:
1) Even though I had not bought a tire with them or had service done there they patched a flat for me at no charge (although my husband had had service there before).
2) When I thought they had lost my wheel lock they offered to buy me a replacement — at their charge. I ended up finding it in my glove compartment after all but I was very impressed at how quickly they offered to take responsibility.
3) They show you the available tires in the size you need and let you pick what works for you. No pressure to buy more than you can afford.
4) I have seen the same employees there over a couple of years which gives me a very positive impression and they are always extremely courteous (holding doors open, very polite).
I am just always happily impressed by the service they provide, prices are reasonable and although they close at 6 PM, that only means that they let the last customer in at 6, they then work as late as it takes to get everyone’s work done.
If you live or work in NW Houston near 290 & Beltway 8 and ever need new tires, I recommend visiting this particular Discount Tire.
