I don’t look for a whole lot outta my dry cleaners, but when the last place we went had our clothes smelling like mildew, we decided to make a change. We’ve been coming here ever since. It’s not the prettiest place and its further from home, but they remember us when we come in and can tell just by looking at the clothes which items are for me vs my mother-in-law and they remember how we each like our clothes cleaned/starched. I haven’t had any major alterations done here, but they can sew buttons on with the best of em!

Don’t ever go here, you’ll pay for poor service.

Do not go here if you need alterations! I got an awesome pair of Arden B trouser jeans for Christmas. When you are a short fry like me nearly everything needs to be altered. I was so excited to wear them that I took them to the dry cleaners by my moms house. NEVER again will I do that! First of all when I walked in and asked about doing an «original hem» alteration they gave me a look like they had no idea what I was talking about-first red flag. The jeans had a cuff on them as they were trouser denim. Then when I asked where I do I go to change into the jeans so they could measure I was directed out the door into the next store front that looked like a shoddy storage area-red flag #2. When I changed into the jeans I didn’t get the normal consultative discussion I usually have with people who hem, i.e., what shoes will you be wearing etc. I just had a bad feeling when I walked out. So…I picked up the jeans today. At a first glance they looked ok… until I took a close look at the hem job, the jeans were wide leg and although they did replicate the cuff I noticed that they altered the cuff more narrow than the actual pant leg thus causing some shirring/grabbing on the pant leg when sewn to the cuff to get it to match up-AWFUL!!! I was so pissed off but I am heading home tomorrow and figured what use would it be to complain. AND to add insult to injury they make you pre pay upfront!!! So regardless of the job they did on your pants you’re gonna pay before you pick up. What a joke… although the jeans were pricey $ 70 I am so glad I didn’t send my $ 200 jeans there! Beware of there if you have alterations!!! p.s Now some people may think, why take your nice jeans to a cleaners to be hemmed but I’m from Chicago, there’s a cleaners on every street corner and they all do a pretty darn good job on alterations so I thought the same around here… don’t think so…
