The Long wait during lunch time but thats ok because obviously the food is delicious. Only con is their parking situation. Its set up right next to a gas station so be prepared to maneuver through several cars if going during busy hours.

I work near the area and have always wanted to try this place, but never had cash on hand. I got to go today for the first time and I’m glad I did. I ordered the half chicken which was juicy and flavorful. The charro beans were good and had the right amount of spice to it. They give you a lot of corn tortillas, but I only used one. I was more into the chicken if anything. It a good lunch spot and cheap for the amount of food they give you. Brush up on your Spanish though or learn a few words. I would definitely come back.

This is a blue chicken bus and I come here whenever I have cash available on me, because it’s a cash only place. The service is always fast and welcoming. I usually grab the half chicken which is charbroiled. It’s always cooked perfectly! It comes with onions, peppers, beans and a stack of corn tortillas. Do yourself a favor and eat two of the tortillas and discard the rest, no need for all th carbs yo. This entrée cost $ 7 and is a great deal for a cheap lunch option. You see the blue bus, then you best to get to the bus stop yo or you’ll be singing«I missed the bus!»

Great place but no seating. Chicken was excellent but beans could use some flavor. Would recommend if your in the area. Go estilo Monterrey, que Chido!

Their tacos al carbon will make you want to slap your mama. Never a disappointment, they are always fresh and made to order. It’s amazing how something so simple can have such an absolutely incredible flavor. The salsa verde… oh my, where do I begin? I always ask for 2 extra, knowing I will delightfully cry my way through each taco as my mouth burns for mercy. Yes, the language barrier can be difficult sometimes, but if you just learn how to order and know a few key words like«cebolla»(onion), you will be good to go. If you haven’t tried ‘em, go… NOW!

Just had dinner from this van this evening after seeing the other reviews. The only misleading item in previous reviews is the price point — this is muy barato! It was $ 11 for a full dinner for two hungry people, or four normal people! The chicken was flavorful and juicy with the perfect amount of smokiness. The corn tortillas were good as well. The salsa wasn’t very spicy but it was enjoyable. The bus is awesome! As I took pictures the proprietor threw up a peace sign as well. The area is a bit sketchy as it’s just on the side of a Chevron gas station in a seedier neighborhood, but the bus gets lots of business so there were always customers there.

Ok… We are driving around this area, hungry and tired and I spotted this blue bus with a giant chicken painted on the side. OFCOURSEWEHAVETOSTOPANDSEE. Wouldn’t you? I am so glad we did. My husband and I ordered the whole roasted chicken dinner. Our meal was $ 11 and was a lot of food for that price. It came with corn tortillas, grilled jalapenos, grilled onions and salsita. The Salsa has a great kick to it and the chicken was so worth the 5 minute wait for it to be cooked for us. Talk about mouth watering and flavorful… Don’t discriminate because your meal is prepared in a cute blue bus. We are definitely going back for more and often. :)

I agree w Scott C. Although I was dismayed a month ago, when I visited the Blue Bus and could not order b/c of language barrier… I decided to give the land based«mother ship» a try. It was an early Saturday morning– I was super hungry, and facing a 12 hour work day– So, I took my chances and went in to order– I was first one in restaurant, but a nice young woman came to take my order within a minute. I ordered to tacos a la mexicana w corn tortillas… Since I am well educated, raised in America all my life, I have developed quite a sense of entitlement, therefore, I am very impatient. So, waiting the 5−7−10 minutes seemed like an eternity and I was a lil worried when I saw a small roach crawling on the wall– but I stuck to my plan to try the tacos anyway– I mean really… its Hot, its Houston, so we are not immune to a bug or 2. I was greatly surprised by two very tasty tacos with a side of fresh salsa. I think there were even some nopales infused with the eggs– They were steaming out of the foil package– and oh so delicious. So Fresh and tasty that I called the restaurant immediately afterwards to compliment them…(i already forgot about the roach until now)…and i definitely did not find it in my meal– so i dont care… The ingredients were so fresh– and the cilantro smells heavenly– I cannot wait to get some chips so that I can finish the rest of the salsa– which, by the way, came in a large container as opposed to the tiny thumb-size containers that others use…

The great taste of northern Mexico in a convenient blue bus-shaped package. Get a whole roasted chicken. It comes with jalapeño, onion, and mucho flavor! Seriously delicious. As an alternative, just drive by and inhale the mouth-watering smoke pouring out of the beautiful blue bus!
