Today I called the store to place a to go order. When I was on the phone, the young lady was not paying attention to my order, and surprise! My order was wrong! I did not discover this until I got home. But before I left the shop, the sandwich that was incorrect wasn’t even made yet… so what was the purpose of me placing a to go order when I had to wait on the sandwich to be made? Anyway, I called and let them know my order was incorrect. A manager was not on duty so I had to deal with the same two incompetent people again. When I went back to the store, the young lady was cleaning up, then saw me and grabbed my sandwich without washing her hands. I opened the sandwich, and the chicken was not thawed out or cooked all the way. Needless to say, I will not be back. I will call management tomorrow!

Just meh. This was my first and last visit to Firehouse Subs. Atmosphere — Pretty unique. I like the firehouse décor. Food — A fairly good selection of sandwiches is available and some even have firehouse-themed names like«the hook and ladder». Orders are freshly made and can be customized. There are even light lighter options on the menu which is always nice to see on a menu. Taste — Disappointing. I ordered the lite chicken salad sandwich. It looked appetizing but totally lacked flavor. When the tomato slices are the most flavorful ingredient on a sandwich you know there’s a problem. Value — A bit pricey. My chicken salad sandwich was smaller than a Subway 6″ and it was over $ 6! That price didn’t even include chips or a drink. There are simply better sandwich options around.

I have to give this location on Bellaire only 1 star because of the poor sauce selection everytime I come here. Firehouse is known for their sauces and unfortunately this location not only has lack of selection but mostly empty bottles of what they do have. Sandwiches and service are great otherwise.

Came in with some friends not terribly hungry. Some of us saw the kids menu and thought that would be just the amount for a snack. When I was began to order, an employee or even the manager himself insisted that I get a full sized meal since the kids size was for a kid. When I replied that I did indeed want a kids-sized meal hence kids meal, he kept persisting that I order otherwise. For that reason alone, I would not return.

I came here with a group of friends a late morning; some of us were not particularly hungry, so we opted for the kid’s meals. After learning that the meals were for us — and not children — the employee behind the counter insisted loudly that we try another item on the menu. We reassured him that we were not that hungry, but he persisted, and this exchange occurred a few more times. Not only was this act rude, it was publicly humiliating for the staff and the company altogether. As for the food, the meatball sub was decent. My friend purchased the kid’s grilled cheese meal; for the price, you get more food compared to the kid’s meatball sub meal. If it wasn’t for the appalling service, I might have given this place another chance.

One of the tastiest subs I’ve had. Sure it’s a chain but you cant argue with your taste buds. A little on the pricey side. Worth it?.. Totally.

All the sandwhiches here taste similar. I don’t like their bread that much and the meat is ok. It’s not usually the first place I’d pick for a sandwhich.

Hey what a great place to eat! It had great food and a lot of options! I think that it is a little bit expensive, but the service was great and food was great! I love sub sandwich places and I hope this place starts expanding to Chicago. Clean, very good, and good service.

love this place!!! the sandwiches are reliably delicious and we love the Coke Freestyle machine. I had a New York Steamer and my kids loved their Italians. yum! great for the kids and they were so excited to meet the owner of the store.

If I need a simple and hot sandwich I know to come by this location. Not only is it maintained clean and they have tasty food close by the neighborhood, but the customer service I experienced from Sara was spectacular. I had to let her know because good customer service can sometimes be hard to find. I came in not knowing what I wanted to order and she quickly gave me an option I couldn’t refuse. I rarely get the opportunity to compliment someone so quickly at a restaurant. Keep up the great work!

Great sandwiches. They have a fresh and new selection of choices. Tired of the same olé thing we have been having every day for years. I like the house hot sauce they have to put on the sandwiches. They give you a great sandwich for a nice price. I also like the way they steam the bread as it gives it a nice texture.

BESTPLACEEVER! I came after a baseball game and I was very hungry. It was the most delicious sub I had ever had and experienced some of the best service I have ever seen. It is a MUSTGO. My new favorite place to eat!

Surprisingly tasty sandwiches! I didn’t want to give this place a try. What place could be better than my Jimmy John’s? Me and JJ go back, but I needed to let go of the past. Through some research, I found out that Firehouse offers a FREE medium size sub on your birthday when you present your ID to the cashier. I ordered the turkey bacon ranch. The turkey was warm and smokey, and it had a MUCH better flavor than pretty much any sandwich shop I’ve been to(as far as chain’s go). Also, they have one of those fancy Coca Cola machines that let you choose and mix up drinks. The atmosphere is nice and chill. The customer service was fantastic, very sweet employees and kind manager. Glad I checked out this opportunity because I will be eating here again.

I love a good sandwich and saw this place on Unilocal with 4 stars so decided to check it out. Décor and feel of the place is laid back and cheery and the staff was very friendly and polite. For 5 – 7 dollars you get a 8 inch sub and can order from their«hot specialty sub» menu or from the more conventional options like turkey, veggie, tuna etc. There is also a foot-long option but I didn’t catch how much more it would cost. Breads come toasted with an option of honey wheat or white. We ordered the hook & ladder sub(honey ham, turkey, melted monterey jack, veggies. mayo) and the smokehouse beef & cheddar brisket sub(with onions and jalapenos) on white as per our cashier’s recommendations. They arrived quickly but I was underwhelmed as the photos of the sandwiches make them seem larger than they actually are. The hook & ladder was tasty but not anything amazing; I could eat something comparable at Which Which for slightly cheaper. The smokehouse beef & cheddar was packed with lots of meat and I was expecting a hearty BBQ style brisket sandwich, but instead, the meat was more of a lunch meat with a drizzle with BBQ sauce. It was still tasty, just not what I was expecting out of a sandwich advertised as a «brisket» sandwich. The best aspect of both sandwiches was the white bread — toasted on the outside with good pull and texture. Overall, it’s comparable to places like Which Which, albeit with more character, better service, and very tasty bread. I wish I could give it 4 stars instead of just 3, but the food wasn’t unique or memorable enough to merit a 4 star rating. I would return if I were looking for a quick lunch in the area.

I ate here for the first time today. I had the Engineer which had turkey breast, sauteed mushrooms, and Swiss cheese. I had mine with just spicy mustard and onions and on wheat bread. Overall it was a good sandwich. Not the best I have ever had, but a step above a Subway or something like that. Will be back to try a different sandwich soon.

Excellent subs! This was my first time here after many drive-bys. The menu is simple but varied, and the staff was helpful with suggestions. We ordered the«Club on a Sub» and the«Steak and Cheese». The sandwiches were delivered to our table steaming and amazing appearing. Both were delicious. The steak sub appears to be the cousin of a Philly cheese, and it is ideal for hungry menfolk. Meanwhile, the sub-club was filling, but not heavy, and served with an awesome dressing. The sub loaf was also the best bread I have had in a long time– tasty, flakey, and light! Easy parking, very reasonable pricing, family environment. I will be coming here instead of the other major chains in the future. Yum!

I love sandwiches and this place does not disappoint. The sandwiches here are packed with meat and the only vegetable that comes with it is a pickle. They also have sweet tea and I can’t think of anything that goes better with a meal. They do offer a variety of hot sauces for those who like things hot. Every time I pass by this place during lunch hour, people are always coming in and out. If only the parking lot was bigger. Weekends are good when it comes to getting a parking spot.

I pulled up to the parking lot at lunch yesterday, it was packed. The place was smokey, I didn’t know if it was intentional or not due to the name. The first thing I noticed was the hot sauces standing on the counter. There were roughly 25 of them to choose from with funky names like Hogs breath. I got the engineer which happened to have the least amount of meat on it. Every sandwich is very manly with double meat or the lack of a single vegetarian sandwich on the menu! The sandwich was tastey but the only downside was that they didn’t have enough veggies. The price was great though! They have a deal after 4pm, $ 4 for a sandwich! Great deal!
