Incredibly rude. Went on w a nail in the tire. They said that it was in a location that couldn’t be patched. Ok. Then they tell me that a new tire is needed and will cost over $ 200. I know from experience that that is nearly double what my tire should cost. When I told them that and that I would be going elsewhere, they became hostile. Apparently coming in on Sunday means they will take advantage of a female.

I have taken my Mustang here on several occasions and always had a good experience. Some of the previous reviews state that the shop was trying to upsell them too much. This is true of every Firestone location I have every gone to. It seems to be their business model; but as long as you know that going in, then you’ll be okay.

The worst service that I’ve ever received!!! Purchased new tires and made an appointment to get them installed. I arrived to my appointment 45 minutes early (12:17pm). I was told it would take a hour. I sat patiently in the waiting area. I agreed to an alignment.
Well at (2:31 pm) my car was ready. I paid the bill and left. I pulled out of the Firestone parking lot and drove it for a block or two and my «check tire pressure» light came on. I immediately turned around and went back. Tom said «no that’s normal and drive it for 20 miles and it’s going to turn off.» Well on my way home which is a hour away from my job and Firestone… I got a flat on my front right tire. I then had to pull over in a parking lot during rush hour to call Firestone and tell them what happen. When I looked at my tire I noticed the hubcap was missing off my back right tire. So now a missing hubcap in addition to a flat tire. «Sorry» was the response that I received when I called Firestone Kirby. They sent a tow truck to take me to another Firestone location that I learned from the tow truck driver. It is now almost 6 pm and I am waiting for my car AGAIN. I am extremely disappointed. Words cannot explain how much they inconvenienced my day. #badservice

When my car was towed to the other location … Jaime from the 9529 Westheimer location stated «to be honest with you ma’am who ever worked on your tire didn’t seal it correctly.» Then he stated that he found a very small leak between the tire bead and the wheel the tire had no nails or punctures tire was not damaged from any rolled hasn’t he took the tire off the wheel improperly sealed with bead sealer (paperwork states) …
I thanked him for helping and proceeded to drive home 1hour away) The «check tire pressure» was not on anymore which totally goes against the nonsense Tom (5719 Kirby) stated «drive 20 miles and the check tire pressure will go off.»
Today 9÷17÷15 …Day number TWO at Firestone Complete Autocare 5719 Kirby … Leonard called me at 730 am this morning acknowledging my Facebook posts and ask if I could bring my car in to check the tire. I told Leonard that I will be there after my meeting. I arrived there approximately at 11:00 am. Tom (store manager) was in the auto maintenance area … saw me waiting in the lobby area thru the glass and proceeded to pick up his cell phone to make a call. Tom stood in front of the store outside chatting on his cell as I waited. Then he walked on the side of the building still chatting on his phone. 15 min later I asked an employee where he was and they didn’t know. I walked to the side of the building and he wasn’t there … 10 min later he walked from around the building and walked right up to me. I proceeded to voice my displeasure again about the service and inconvenience. I pointed out the tire that the other Firestone location marked with a with a white marker. To show where the bead was not sealed properly. Tom STILL failed to accept responsibility. He stated that my car had just come off the line and the technicians check all air pressure prior to car being released. I expressed to Tom that when I drove the car two blocks down the street and came back when the check tire pressure light came on, he should have simply checked my tires… He stated that he is confident that his technician checked. Do you expect the truth out of a technician that wasn’t thorough in the first place? He then stated that the hubcap replacement that they did not properly install will be in tomorrow which will be DAY 3 for me at Firestone 5719 Kirby. He said he’ll have a technician take a look at the tire again and took my keys.
Ironically as I stood in the lobby a young Caucasian woman walked in and stated that «my check tire pressure light is on and i think my tire air maybe low can someone take a look at it.» TOM responded «sure pull your car in the front» The young woman asked. «How long?» And TOM stated hell do it now.
I was in total disbelief. This was the same request that I asked of TOM yesterday and was told to drive 20 miles. Here’s a young lady that drove up and received prompt service (no paying customer) and here I am a paying customer sand couldn’t receive the same courtesy. What’s the difference… Could it be the color of my skin? I believe so. When I returned to that Firestone 5819 Kirby and expressed my concern regarding the check pressure light being on, someone should have extended the courtesy of double checking… to make sure that everything was okay. Instead, I was ushered away and quite frankly my life was put in jeopardy.
When TOM brought my keys back to me he stated that I had a nail in my other front tire and «it’s deep» … He stated that it couldn’t be repaired and advised me to buy a new tire. He typed up my paperwork and I left. Firestone does not value their customers. This was my experi

Warning. These people are thieves. You can’t trust them. They will tell you that you need things done to your car that you don’t need. For example, my husband just had his transmission fluid changed at another garage, and when he went in to buy tires, they told him he absolutely needed the transmission. Fluid. Another time he went into buy two tires and they told him the other two were bald when they weren’t.

Took my car there for and brakes/​rotors and oil change at 10:50am car wasn’t ready till 4:09pm parts cost 430 and labor was 395 … You do the math. Sales man was nice but tried to sell me 39 other things I didn’t need. I would recommend a personal mechanic. Unless you want labor same price as parts. Total rip off but car runs like new, $ 777.80 later

Have stopped in twice with tire issues and both times these guys took care of it immediately and were super friendly. I will definitely consider them when I need new tires.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!! I’ve been to this location several times and paid a lot of money for their «recommendations». So I went in again a few days ago to get a «tune up» and was given a price estimate of $ 199 plus $ 99 to clean the fuel line. Not bad and the guy seemed more honest that most of the people that work here. But they said the wait plus work time would be about 4 hours. So not wanting to wait, I made an appt for 2 days later and left. Well today was my appt and I went in, was told it would be an hour (what’s the point of an appt then!!!) till they would get around to my truck. I was frustrated and agreed to wait anyway. I asked the estimated price again just to be sure and was told this time it was $ 577 and the fuel line cleaning now jumped to $ 199? Seriously, what in the world??. I told the guy i was quoted a much cheaper price and he told me that price was wrong and they suggest getting all these extra parts that comes standard with a «tune up». How was I quoted different if it comes standard? I then told him i didn’t want all that extra stuff and just want the basic tune up parts ie. Sparks plus etc. the price then went down to $ 276. Where is this extra $ 76 dollars coming from? Shouldn’t it have been the original $ 199? And how did the fuel line cleaning jump $ 100 in 2 days? **mind you this is all before the even opened my hood. So after telling him i just wanted the basic stuff, the wait has now moved from 2 hours (1 hour to get to my truck and 1 hour work time) to over 4 ½ hours. I got there at 2:30 and now it wouldn’t be done till 7. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked the guy how the time increased that much and he told me he just realized how much work that was still in front of me, despite my appt. basically told me to my face, buy the extras or wait all day for us to replace a couple spark plugs at a very high price. THESE GUYS MAKE MONEY OFF COMMISSION AND WILL TRY TO SELL YOU EVERYTHING THEY CAN. They prey on people who don’t know engines, and last I checked, unless you’re a mechanic, you don’t know engines. Please don’t give these people your money, their grade A crooks

I came here for a free tire rotation (it’s free because I bought their tires). This took them almost 2 hours (they initially said it would take 1 hour up to 1hr30 so adjust any quotes they give you accordingly). I stayed in the store so I had the pleasure? of listening to them attempt to scam folks out of more money non-​stop. I don’t think a single person walked in who didn’t have their visit morph into a $ 1k+ «omg you must do this NOW OR ELSE» laundry list of repairs.
The interesting thing is I had an appointment later in the day with a separate, more trustworthy shop to fix some car issues that I knew about, so I was curious to see what they tried to run past me. Sure enough, they put a $ 1200 list of potential items in front of me. The hilarious part is they put tire alignment on there (guess they don’t align after rotations? what kind of third-​rate slapdash shop is this?) as well as a $ 600 item for repairs I did NOT need. They did accurately identify the item I was going to fix later in the day — it would have cost me more to do it here though. I have to admit, after almost 120 minutes of listening to them wheel and deal with other customers, it was extraordinarily pleasurable to watch the crestfallen bewilderment in his face when I said I knew what my car needed and I had an appointment elsewhere to fix it later that day. Call me a sadist but I got in my car and snickered about it for at least, oh, 10 seconds (listen I don’t inflate and exaggerate like this place does or I’d’ve gone with 45 minutes of snickering).

Believe the reviews, the manager is completely dishonest and looking to pull the wool over your eyes.
I am a car guy. Fixed cars myself for over 20 years, but I don’t have a setup for full alignment calibration at my house (simply not practical), so I go to Firestone.
On two separate occasions (nearly six months apart) I have brought two different cars to this location to get an alignment. BOTH TIMES, Manager Kim called to tell me THE EXACT SAME THING was wrong with EACH CAR.
My expected alignment price was $ 99, but apparently, earning that honestly is not enough for this Firestone. They stated that the alignment was impossible without my outlay of $ 1200 to replace ball joints and entire lower control arms, the identical alleged defect on BOTH cars.
In response to this attempted fleecing, I took both cars to a Firestone that was a little further away. The alignment problem was corrected immediately and for $ 99 (with a diagnostic printout to prove it).
Not all auto repair shops are evil, but if you make the epic mistake of going to this place on Kirby, expect to get an exorbitant estimate for work that «needs to be done» on your car.
The fix is in. Don’t be an easy mark.

I made an appointment at for 5pm. My car wasn’t seen until about 5:45. I asked how much longer for just diagnostics. He said its about how far I am in line. Line? I made an appointment. There is no need to get in back of the line if you make an appointment. Why make an appointment if you have to get in the back of the line anyway?
Then after all was said and done, I presented a coupon that Firestone had emailed me a few days prior. The coupon stated $ 30 off any service of $ 50 or more. The attendant refused to honor it because my total was 2 things that totaled $ 60. This coupon was for only ONE item of $ 50. No where on the coupon did it state this. I was very disappointed. The coupon had a code for the cashier and he didn’t even want to try entering it if it worked or not. He just refused to use the coupon.
I have always come to all the Firestone locations and they have always honored every coupon I have ever brought to them. This was very disappointing.

Came in here to check my tire pressure and get a price quote for new tires. The man inside ended up humiliating me for wanting to get rid of my all season tires for summer tires. On top of that, he failed to notify anyone to help me check tire pressure and kept us waiting another 20 minutes until we went in and asked again. Definitely not coming here again. This is customer service at its worst.

I recently had a dead battery, and had the car towed to this Firestone to have it replaced. They replaced the battery, for an exorbitant price ($ 290!) then called me to say the alternator was bad. The technician told me there was no voltage coming out of it. The car is under warranty so I took it to the dealer. When they checked it, they found the alternator worked perfectly! I had no indicator light saying it wasn’t charging. Firestone wanted $ 460 to replace it! You figure it out.

Terse. Rude. I thought «wow, sorry to call and bother you to do business»
I’ll be going elsewhere.

I have never posted ANYTHING on Unilocal but this was so bad I felt compelled to write and warn others away. 1) Didn’t fix my problem and in fact left my car so dangerously unsafe (worse than when I had brought it in) that I nearly got into an accident. 2) Completely disorganized 3) Total lack of customer service! Horrible horrible horrible. Actually, last year I received bad service but wanted to give them a second chance. Nope. Should have
1) I picked up my car from Firestone on 3÷1÷2014 after they had installed a «new» master cylinder. As I was leaving, I could immediately tell that something wasn’t right with my brakes. They were so mushy that they went almost to the floor before engaging. After three separate calls the following week … they FINALLY fixed it after I nearly got into an accident because my brakes wouldn’t work right. My question is, this was so obviously not done right the first time that even I could tell as I was driving off on Saturday but somehow the technician who parked my car couldn’t tell? Come to find out the «new» master cylinder was defective and they replaced it … once again, night and day difference. I can’t believe how they gave me back such an unsafe car … way worse than when I brought it in. Huge liability and potential for lawsuit if anything had happened.
2) Did I mention how disorganized they were? When I picked up my car on Saturday they charged me the wrong price because they rang me up under someone else’s work order (this was after about 10 minutes of them actually trying to find my work order). But because of an «update» to their system, they couldn’t refund my card. I had to wait until the owner of the car that I had paid for came and we had to do a weird transaction where they paid for mine and then ran my card again for the balance.
3) When I went in again the following week after they had replaced the master cylinder for the second time, I was the only one in the lobby and yet the guy was on his computer in the mechanic bay … didn’t even look up until I knocked on the glass (oh and there was one other car being worked on). Let me also mention, for my inconvenience I thought they would at least drop my car off … but no. They would but I had to bring the driver back … excuse me?
Never never never go here.

Terrible communication from customer service representative Justin. Review your work order before they start if you don’t want to get charged more than necessary. They will not tell you how much time each item in the work order will take — you need to ask explicitly.
Here’s a summary of issues for an oil change, state inspection, and 30,000 mile service. The work took 3 hours on a Friday afternoon + 15 min on a Tuesday (to finish up).
1. I asked him to replace my windshield wipers and automatically added the most expensive set in the work order. I had to ask him for different options.
2. Automatically assumed that I wanted the «premium» maintenance care package for my car, which called for flushing transmission fluid at 30,000 vs 105,000 miles. He did not ask or explain the difference or tell me how long this would take. About 15 min later when I found this information on google, he said it was too late and «compromised» by making me pay $ 50 of the $ 100 cost
3. They did not have a filter on-​hand and drove to their Westheimer store to get it. On a Friday afternoon. On a holiday. Without telling me. When I asked about the status, I was told «any minute» (I’d been there for almost 2.5 hours). About 20 min later, he said he could not control traffic and could not tell me what time to expect. They put the old filters back on and I had to come back later.
Expect a long wait and a lot of attitude.

Horrible and dishonest. I brought my car in for likely suspension work. In other words, I believed I needed shocks/​struts. In addition to the shocks/​struts, they informed me I needed a control arm replacement and a new battery. They also found a nail in a tire, and stated that I needed to replace the tire because the nail was on the side. Moreover, they told me my car was dangerous to drive due to the control arm problem.
Something seemed wrong, and I decided to get a second quote. The second mechanic told me that there were absolutely no issues with my control arm or my battery. And, the tire could be patched, as the nail was not quite on the side. The other shop invited me to view my car, showed me the problems with the struts and the problem-​free control arm.
Firestone COMPLETELY FABRICATED over $ 1400 in problems. Moreover, the work that needed to be done was quoted 30% cheaper at a local Midas. Absolute thieves.

I wish this place could get more negative reviews, but it is Firestone… And people are going to keep coming back. So on to my review.
I came in for a routine oil change and they recommended me getting the one for car over 75k miles, for the cost of $ 50. I later found out that was a scam… There isn’t a need for any type of special oil change, for cars over 10 years old. I got ripped off for being a girl; I guess. So a few days later my car starts smoking from the hood while I’m driving and I freak out, I went to autozone and they said I needed radiator fluid because my car was over heating. So they put the fluid in for me and the car was fine until today… It started smoking again. Now thinking back, I’m wondering if the guy at Firestone was trying to get his payback for me not wanting to take care of any of their recommended repairs which were about $ 300. worth… Not going back, they’re completely dishonest.

Never, ever go here. Overpriced and dishonest. Have taken my Volvo elsewhere and have had the work by these guys either questioned or re-​repaired twice now. Recently brought my car in for new tires (simple enough) drove out with my sway bar damaged. Don’t know if mechanics we’re trying to drum up new work or incompetent.
Doesn’t matter, won’t be back.

NEVER CHANGE ENGINE OIL THERE!!!
I should have read the review first! Most of the time, they DON’T put the cap back after they change the engine oil!!! I don’t know that before, but today after I drive my car back I always smell oil. This is my first time changing oil so I don’t know what should I expected, I thought the smell was normal. But when I drive back home maybe 15 miles or so, I told one of my friends about the smell and he suggested I recheck the engine oil because he has heard from others that the worker in firestone don’t put the cap back and damage the engine. So I rushed to check and IT IS TRUE!!! The cap is gone!!!
ERRRRRRRR I’ll never go back or leave my car there and trust them!!!

First and foremost I must say thank you to James! I was in quite a pinch on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and not only were they open… they got my Jeep in and fixed up like new.
I had a tire problem, or so I thought, but James was very honest and said that there were no leaks, no holes, just low pressure… thank god! I also opted for the LIFETIME alignment! Only 150 $!
It’s always nice to find an honest car repair/​tire shop! I hopefully won’t need to go back, but if I do, this place is on the top of my list!
