Get Real EFX Fitness

I’ve had memberships to a lot of gyms bc I’ve moved around so much and this is by far my favorite!!! I’ve always been the type that has to go to a class to workout bc i hate working out by myself. I like to think I’m pretty in shape, but I think i’ve gotten in the best shape I’ve ever been in because of this gym. Mainly bc i used to do just a lot of cardio and relied on playing sports to build muscle… didn’t ever really lift weights much. Mike is an amazing instructor. He makes sure you’re using the right form when doing the exercises and will alter them if you’re having back or knee problems and so on. He has a good mix of cardio, weight lifting, body weight exercises, and plyometrics. The workouts are always changing so you never get bored. There are always 2 workouts to choose from: the cardio side or the weight lifting side. Both workouts have a good mix of all the different kinds of exercises… it’s just what you want to focus more on. The people who go to this gym are really great too. It’s so easy to make new friends here at this gym. The best part is it’s VERY reasonably priced compared to other cross fit gyms. Now GRE isn’t a cross fit gym. It focuses more on technique and quality over quantity/​reps. I recently had to move and the new gym I go to the instructor is constantly complimenting on my form and how surprised she is of how strong I am… guess where I got it from… GRE duh!!! Anytime I am back in Houston for work, I’m incredibly excited to go back to GRE to get a few workouts in. Mike is the best!

It’s ok.

Been coming here for the way early 5am class for several months now. You simply won’t get bored, nor is there any intimidation like with other crossfit style gyms. Everyone is super friendly and it’s a great workout!

I have been going to Mike for about 4 months now and I love the gym. I don’t know how someone can have trouble finding the place, when the address is on the outside of the building and there is a sign at Block 7 Wine Company, not to mention that the website tells you where to park.
Mike is super laid back and would never turn anyone away, I have brought in a ton of friends to try it out, and some have actually stuck with it. It has been the first gym I look forward to going to, and the only thing I have ever had real results with. No day is ever the same, and the guy who teaches the later class does something totally different so you can kinda choose what you want to do. I say check it out.

I bought the Amazon Local deal and was super excited about trying this place out. I scheduled our (my sister and myself) first class and couldn’t find the place. It’s a little ally that is super sketchy next to washington. We tried calling and no answer. Just went home because at this point we were ten minutes late from making loops around the area. Schedule our class the next day and try to call ahead no answer. Show up super early this time in case we can’t find it again. Still can’t find the place. Call no answer. Finally I email them and get a rude reply. Schedule our 3^rd class. find the place. Get there to schedule and they say they have no e vidence of a membership. I log in to my ac count on my phone and they still won’t let us attend the class. Rude Rude Rude!!!

I’ve been in the fitness industry for over a decade now and I’m still here and not burned out like so many do to themselves. That being said, I’ve been to a LOT of gyms. My personal preference is a small one that feels more like family. One that you can choose to get out of bed without any makeup and not care. But also, if I feel spunky, I can wear it if I want to! I hat

I may be the only person on here to write a bad review, but it is legitimate. I first used Mike as a personal trainer which was great until he started moving locations. Worse to come though, I had pre-​paid for several sessions and once he moved into the current location, they were no longer ‘personal training sessions’. Either a class was going on and he was dealing with that, or he was helping out new members. Also the one hour sessions were getting shorter and shorter.
Eventually, and I thought amicably, I told him it wasn’t working for me and asked for a refund. Mike, being (I thought) a nice, reasonable guy, agreed with me and promised a refund. Still haven’t received it, and we are now coming up to a year later. Not happy, and personally, I don’t think that’s the way to run a successful business.

Just show up, fill out the paperwork and work your ass off and feel the burn — in a good way. I guarantee you’ll love your lifted booty and sculpted arms within days. They’ve added more classes to the schedule, so check out their website. I tend to go to 8:15 and 9:15am classes, which have anywhere from four to 15 people. Men, women, moms, dads, college students, couples… everyone’s welcome.
They also started doing occasional happy hours. Our first was last Thursday after the 5:30 class. We all headed over to a local watering hole for bites, brew and socializing.

I have worked with Mike and Olivia for almost a year now and have been loving it, but it wasn’t until I did a recent Crossfit class that I felt compelled to praise EFX on Unilocal.I had no idea how lucky I was! Mike and Olivia work with your skill set, adding challenges as you get stronger and constantly changing up your routine so it is never boring. There is no overtraining, but it is not a walk in the park either. I may hate them while I am working ou, but I love them and the way I feel after their classes. I have tried several different bootcamps and fitness classes in the city of Houston, and can say without a doubt this is the best program in the City. Check it out!

GRE is an awesome gym. The workouts are challenging every time. No workout is the same. Mike and Olivia are experts in their craft and it shows. Although it is a group setting, they are very hands on and will modify workouts and sets as needed on an individual basis. Their workouts are by far best well rounded workouts I’ve ever done. I still have a long way to go, but the results thus far are amazing. Since mid May I’ve gained 20+ lbs of lean body mass while lowering my body fat by 8%+. Thanks Mike and Olivia!

I am athletic and work out regularly, so it is difficult to find a fitness program that challenges me. Mike and Olivia know exactly how to push me to see results. Each class is different and I always leave feeling like I accomplished something — sometimes pretty amazing feats such as running with rubber bands, pushing a car, or working out with nautical rope. They use everything and anything to get results and it works.
I am a runner, so the program is a great supplement to my cardio work. I can feel and see the difference in my arms and legs. The class sizes are small, so there is great camaraderie and support between peers and the instructors. It is like a wonderful family! I highly recommend Get Real EFX Fitness program if you are looking for a challenge! Both Mike and Olivia are knowledgeable and motivational — you will be addicted to the program.
