It has been a very long time since I’ve been to a good Golden Corral, which is fairly sorrowful. I’ve given this place two stars for two very simple reasons: The server I had, and the chocolate fountain that they have here. The server I had was always coming by to check on the table, he was friendly and seemed eager to work there. I wasn’t able to leave a cash tip, so the lady at the checkout/check-in counter gladly let me put another charge on my card so I could tip him. This was good. The chocolate fountain. If I could, I would have continued to eat. You have a macroon, marshmallows, and a piece of fudge to dip in there. It’s warm, it’s fast and delicious. Now the rest of the place was decent as far as a buffet goes, but aside from the server and the lady at the check-in line, I didn’t get a friendly vibe from it. My experience was probably also hampered a bit by the person behind me hollering into their phone. As someone else here said, the food is fairly plain, but good if you’re hungry.

The worst buffet I’ve ever been eaten at. Go to What a burger next door! It’s cheaper and tastes better. Seriously very little food iut, the eggs looked like they were made last week and very few desserts. I had to pick up six plates before I found a clean one!

If you love buffets this place serves a variety of foods(american, mexican, southern just to name a few). This place is usually busy because they offer a lot of hot foods, salad and yummy desserts. Salad bar is big enough to choose a few toppings you like in your salad.(I personally love the salad section). The steak is usually fried right off the grill and u have to check in with the cook to get your steak fresh. The dessert selection is a treat because theres trays to choose from(cookies, brownies, pies, ice cream machine– vanilla and Choc or mix of both just to name a few). As a reminder, most buffet foods sit out for some time and may seem old. So that’s what you’ll have to expect. Pros It’s a buffet for families(all you can eat). You can choose your own seating table. Variety of food options. Service is well. Cons Biggest issue, this place is dirty. Flithy restrooms. Tables not cleaned well.

This place is great when you are hungry. but most of the food is plain and not much of a taste to it but who really cares we always get 3 or 4 plates full of food.

The new all day breakfast ads lured me back… great photography… BUTINTHESTORE — 1. no idea if they made omelettes. No station visible. 2. The scrambled eggs were COLD, sausage and biscuits and gravy were all only room temperature. Manager checked temperature and said they were not cold but he didn’t try them. 3. Fried chicken was dry and over-cooked 4. Burger sliders were burnt on the grill. 5. Broccoli was also cold and other veggies looked over-cooked so didn’t try them. Didn’t even qualify as a mediocre lunch. Even if it cost half of the $ 10 charge, it isn’t worth ever going back. There are too many small places with great food in Houston to waste ones time here.

No mash potatoes at all. Cold food. Very ghetto. No verity. I’ve been to other golden corrals where the steak was awesome but this steak is horrible.

This place equivocally sucks big time. It is just a slight step above county jail/homeless shelter slop and a step below the gruel they delve out at cafeteria in Herman hospital. I certainly didn’t choose to go here today for lunch but my dad insisted and he paid the bill, so I went. The cat fish was over salty and dry, the fried chicken had a funky almost rancid taste. The pot roast was edible, but that great. The only thing that was good was the soft serve ice cream topped with gummy bears. I seriously felt dirty eating here, I want to burn my clothes and jump into a bath of sanitizer. YUCK!

I had heard lots of good things about the food from Golden Corral and my friend had said that their food was always very good. We decided on dinner there last night after running through a few other ideas. I wanted to eat somewhere that I had never eaten before so, Golden Corral it was. I will sum it up by saying that I was disappointed in the quality of the food. Some of it was good, but there was more bad than good, which is why I am only giving a two star rating. The pot roast was excellent. It’s one of my favorite foods and theirs was very tender and tasty. One thing I noticed is that a lot of the food choices that were empty were replaced by a bin of tortilla chips. There were random bins of chips all over the place. The fried chicken had been sitting up there way too long. It was so hard that biting through it hurt my teeth. It could have broken a window if thrown at it. We had the same problem with quite a few other other food selections as well; food that was left sitting way too long thus becoming hard, chewy, and just not good. When it came time for dessert, the hand dipped ice cream area looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time and the freezer was full of empty boxes. Made the ice cream very unappealing. The pre-cut cake slices were just slopped on the plates and were more like just piles of cake and frosting. The cotton candy was great, though. What I gathered from our dining experience is that the staff just doesn’t care. I feel that the food had the potential to be excellent, but when people just do not care, it is reflected in the restaurants overall quality. I will give Golden Corral another try, but not at this location. It was a Golden Disappointment.

I went there twice this year, both times were on a Sunday morning. Crazy busy. There was no bacon for about 20 minutes. Then when they put out some more it was gone within a few minutes. Not exactly the classiest restaurant.

I Like Golden Corral, always have. I liked them when they were a standard steak house and I liked them when they switched to their newer buffet style. Over the years they have continually refined the concept and they have made very few missteps in the process. When I used to live in Atlanta the one in Duluth, GA was a go to restaurant choice for me on a regular basis. The location in Buford GA was also very good. Here in Houston though I’m just not very close to a location so I seldom get to go. When I happened to remember passing one on the way to the airport and was hungry on the way back from said airport I eagerly looked forward to trying them again. I looked forward to their fried chicken, among the best you can get from a chain restaurant. I looked forward to their excellent mashed potatoes and gravy, I looked forward to their soft and fluffy over sized rolls and to their soft serve ice cream. I looked forward to all of that and more and because I was able to get those things at least this location gets two stars instead of no stars. It’s everything else that comes with a Golden Corral that was such a vast disappointment here. First, this is one of the smallest locations I’ve ever seen. And the food selection seemed to be about half the size I’m used to. Many of my other favorites were completely missing from the bar. There were no steamed squash, no peppers, onions, and sausage mix, no pork BBQ(although maybe they don’t offer it here in TX), no bourbon chicken, no chicken tenders(but at least they had their excellent fried chicken on the bone), no roast beef at the carving station, no sesame chicken at the Asian station, no black eyed peas, and a host of other choices were missing as well. What’s worse is that what was there that I did like also had problems. The stuffing was way too wet and chunky(something that is becoming a problem at more then just this location), the pot roast tray was mostly empty the whole time I was here, as were the pizza trays. In fact I was a mere 10 feet from the bar when I finally saw them put a new pizza out but was unable to get to it before two other women swooped in and took every single slice. Seriously?!? In addition to that the soft serve machine was a disgusting mess that failed to produce vanilla or mixed and could only provide chocolate. I thought I’d give myself a treat and try the fudge since the ice cream was such a disaster but it was the worst tasting burnt mess I have ever seen that somebody attempted to call fudge. What a waste of my rather limited chocolate allowance! The worst sin however is that the cook to order steak servers were absent from their station almost the whole time I was at this location. I only saw them when I was making my first pass(which is always my vegetable sampler plate) and right before I walked out the door. GC’s prices are too high to provide a product this inferior, and normally they don’t. I may go to another location again in the future but I will never set foot in this location again. It’s just not worth it.

My friends love this place, but it’s fairly subpar. Most of the food is fairly low grade even considering it’s a buffet. I would not return here by choice and only if its a special occasion for someone else, which is has been up to this point. The only redeeming factor is the steak. You would be wary about buffet steak, but they cook it right before you get it or as you request it and it taste great. If you can just fill up on the steak you’ll be fine. Bottom line, I don’t except much from this place, but for the price, it should be a lot better.

Meh. Veggies a bit overcooked and noticeably over salted. Everything was«ok», but you can’t eat enough to make the price worth it, unless you in jest a day’s with of food in one meal.

too pricey(~$ 11.50) for mediocre food the more decent food(pot roast, meat loaf, fried catfish, wings, popcorn shrimp) usually ran out and was slow to refill so you kind of have to be on the look-out if you want to try those(i did go on a saturday night though, so maybe it’s just more busy than on other nights). i asked for a medium rare piece of steak but they were all well-done. on the upside, they did have mushrooms and grilled onions to top your steak with. some of the food was room temp, which was kind of gross. the dessert selection was decent. they had a chocolate fountain that you could dip marshmallows, rice crispies, or coconut macaroons in. the chocolate fudge and brownies were good. they also had an ice cream machine, as well as apple or blueberry pie, peach or apple cobbler, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and cookies. but i didn’t try those. the waiter we had was enthusiastic and friendly and quick to clear our table and refill our waters. all in all though, i wouldn’t eat here again.

Just don’t come here… unless you like potroast, mashed tators, and honey rolls. Prices have also increased. In a moment of weakness, I wound up here in this gluttonous palace of fried fatty comfort food. I can assure you that it will never happen again. It’s a good way to pig out cheap, but it was just so overcrowded. I guess that’s a good sign… They had a mountain of desserts, and such delicious banana pudding! They also have a salad bar, but knowing myself and my lack of self control, I didn’t stray within a 5 mile radius of that thing. :(

My husband and I went here off a whim this past Wednesday and I will NEVER eat here again. The food was NASTY! The brown gravy tasted generic, the mashed potatoes tasted like the old commodity foods that used to be given to the poor. Even the cheese enchiladas were horrible. This place need new management and a brand new cooking staff.

After hearing that Kim Kardashian was getting a divorce, I had to indulge in as much food as possible to cover up my pain. Luckily for me, Golden Corral is just a stone’s throw away. This is a buffet chain with your typical American fare. Imagine a fancier college dorm buffet. There’s a salad bar, an Asian section, a soul food section, an Italian section, some breads, and a dessert bar. The service was good enough and the food was as expected, nothing really blew me away. The one item that I did particularly enjoy and probably not on many people’s «must eat» lists was the broccoli with cheese. I also suggest the pork chop. It was a little tough but it was marinated to perfection. My taste buds also enjoyed the popcorn shrimp, but like all buffets under $ 15, you can expect a lot of batter and a tiny shrimp. The place was packed on Saturday afternoon. Some football team was there and a bunch of families too. Every 15 minutes, the manager made an announcement to tell parents to accompany their kids to the buffet line and bathroom. This got a little annoying but rather noise than dirty hands in my food. For lunch on Monday — Friday it’s $ 7.95, but on Saturday it’s $ 9.49. This did not work in my favor since I came here on a Saturday. I believe it’s $ 10.99 for dinner any day of the week. There was a sign out front that said seafood after 4PM, so I assume that’s what you’re paying extra for.

Remember Ryan’s Steakhouse? Well It’s the same type of joint. American Style Buffet. Nothing special here. 10 bucks for a dinner buffet. There was one dish that did have me coming back. Honey glazed popcorn shrimp!!! Besides that you’re paying for what you get.

Love The Golden Corral. Im not sure if this is a location I’ve been to or not? Probably. We’d eat here as a family back in the day. They have great all you can eat buffets.
