No hidden treasures today! This location has a pretty good variety of «finds». It is always humorous to see some of the random prices that they put on donated items. For sure the person deciding on the price is absolutely clueless about values for some of their goods. Asking more for something that is either«old» while still new or something used than what you can buy it for brand new today in a retail store! lol It seems to be like this in most of the Goodwill stores that I have visited locally. But, that’s part of the hunt. Sometimes there is a great bargain!

I LOVE thrift stores. I would go to a thrift store to buy center pieces for every occasion, to buy things for people for Christmas(not only because I’m cheap, but you just cant find things like a VHS player in stores anymore). I have tried going to goodwill a few times and I just feel like they throw away too much. The things you find in a goodwill are mostly adult clothing, NEVER any centerpieces. There are very few home goods, so if you are hoping to stock up a brand new apartment then you might want to go to value village. If you just need a new outfit, or you want a few new belts than this would be worth it for sure.

When you think of shopping you usually don’t think of thrift stores. When you do think of thrift stores, you usually think of specialty or boutique recyclers of vintage, period or über-high end goods. If you do think of places like Goodwill, you think desperately poor and disadvantaged. Time to think again. This isn’t a spotless department store with merchandise artfully displayed. You will have to plow through clothes and merchandise, it’s not all the well organized. It’s not grimy, it’s clean but not shiny. But you will be amazed at what you find. I first went to this Goodwill when I was buying some clothes to contribute to a family who was in need. I was looking for clothes for a year-old baby and for a 6 year old and was stunned to find a selection of contemporary and modern kid’s clothes, some not unsurprisingly with the original price tags still attached. So I was intrigued and went over to men’s clothing and found several pants, shirts and shoes that were clean, barely or unused. All in all, I walked out spending $ 130 with a huge pile of clothes, and made that family thrilled. I did have someone ding me for shopping there for the donated clothes. I look at it this way — for what I paid I got coats, shirts, pants, shorts, belts, and shoes. If I have gone retail, I would have gotten them 1⁄10th of what they did get and loved. I bought a used car — why not used pants. I wouldn’t get underwear there. Then again, not sure they sell it. I didn’t check out the furniture, kitchen and home stuff and other stuff, but I might pop by sometime and see what they have.
