Coming from a working in a grocery store background where customer service is high priority, I’m let down every time I shop here & need help finding a product. I do love the coupons, but they’re always out of the particular Pita chips I look for, although I have been able to find an alternative product. Walking by the bakery, no «Hello, did you need any help today?» when choosing a cake. I think I would suggest upping the customer service seeing as how great the prices are, but I may just be picky from my own experiences.

It’s a convenient location if you live near Bear Creek. The pharmacy can get very busy and is slow. Other than that, no complaints!

Very disappointed. I am an international visitor from Canada. I went to buy beer, with my valid Canadian PASSPORT, I am 25, and was told that since I had no «American» ID, I was not allowed to buy beer… This is the first grocery store chain I’ve ever had an issue with, and I have no intention on going back. Houston is an international hub, discriminating against those who do not carry an «American» identification is idiotic and will make you lose a lot of business.

They do not accept international ID’s apparently… First grocery store I’ve ever had an issue with. The cashier asked if I had any «American» ID and, since I am Canadian, I said no, as he handed back my PASSPORT and told me they do not accept «non-​american» identification… As such an international hub as Houston, that’s absurd, and the company policies in place need to be looked into. After everything, I feel sorry for this location, they probably will not be successful for long if they continue to be so incredibly discriminatory.
UPDATE: Management told me they are supposed to have a manager review the ID then go from there, ignorant staff.

I love most HEB locations but this is one of the worst in the city. If I managed a grocery store and I ever saw a customer bagging their own groceries I would lose my sh*t. I have bagged my own groceries regularly at this location since I moved to this area 2 years ago. Understaffed 95% the time. Also check the date on EVERYTHING. We have bought things on multiple occasions that turned out to be already expired.

I pre-​ordered my son’s 4^th birthday Batman cake on Oct. 14^th. I called on Friday Oct 23^rd to confirm if the cake, which I was to pick up on Oct 24^th, would be ready/​they had the order. After being put on hold several times and hung up on, I finally got thru to the bakery and was told, yes, they had my order and the cake would be ready for pick up at 10am on Oct. 24^th. I remember the man who answered telling me «Girl, don’t worry, we got you.»
At 8:30am on Oct. 24^th I received a call from HEB bakery telling me that they would not be able to make the Batman cake as it was discontinued??? If a cake is DISCONTINUED-​REMOVE IT FROM THE BINDER THAT SHOWS ALL THE CAKES!!! I was LIVID. I explained that I called the night before and confirmed everything was ok/​the cake would be ready. They lady told me that they could not make it and that there were no other Batman options. Not once did she offer me a discount on a plain sheet cake/​nothing. I was extremely upset as my son’s party was THAT day and it was BATMAN themed, we even had Batman coming to the party. After I stopped crying/​calmed down, I called HEB back and asked if they could just make a blue ¼ sheet cake. The lady said yes. When I went to pick up the cake, no one would look me in the eye/​no discounts were offered. As I was trying to control my blood pressure I decided to just pick up the cake and contact HEB at a later time (I just sent off a letter to HEB Customer Relations in San Antonio, TX. This whole incident has left me with a lot of anger towards H-​E-​B and the bakery staff. Birthday cakes are very important and bakery staff really should be trained to REMOVE THE CAKE PICTURES FROM THE BINDER if they are discontinued and better customer service skills should be implemented. I am very wary to ever order anything from H-​E-​B again. I felt so totally let down that it ruined what should have been a perfect day for myself and my family/​friends to celebrate my son’s 4^th birthday.

I generally enjoy shopping at this HEB. I saw an ad on TV about their Hempstead watermelons. They looked so delicious, I quickly ran to the store to get one of those melons. Upon arriving in the produce section, there was a guy there putting out water melons. I ask for a Hempstead watermelon. He had no idea which or if any melons were from Hempstead. The boxes were showing other origins none labeled Hempstead or local. I didn’t see any evidence of watermelons from Hempstead. Was very disappointed in their advertising something not carried in their stores. This could be viewed as a bait n switch because since I had my mind set on watermelon bought one anyways. Their ad lured me in with false expectations.

But maybe I’ve been a little spoiled. I’ve been to quite a few HEBs in Houston and pretty much all the one’s I’ve been to have been huge. With wide selections of produce, bakery, meat, seafood, organics, and many more.
Ever since I moved back home from school, I forgot how SMALL this HEB is. I’ve been going here since it first opened. Service has been consistent. Not too bad. I haven’t really experienced a time where I’ve had bad service, to be honest. Might be a little slow but that’s about it. It can be a little busy on some days and lanes will be backed up into the isles. Is it just me, or does the store look a bit dimmer than most?
This HEB is literally like a 5 – 7 minute drive from my house. I like how close it is. For a small grocery store, it’s pretty clean and organized from what I’ve seen. I don’t it’s ever been messy the times I’ve ever came.
I will say this though, I’ve bought seafood here before and they always have great prices, especially during crawfish season.
Upon walking in, immediately to your left is the produce section and I wouldn’t say that have a huge selection, because to me, it just look like a huge section with lots of isle space. Not necessarily a huge selection. I hope that makes sense but to me, that’s what it looks like. But regardless, food is always fresh.
Whenever I go any place, wether it’s a grocery store, restaurant, school, or any place in general, parking is on my mind. There’s plenty of parking here and I really like that. What I don’t like is that there is about 5 or more handicap parking spaces on each isle. Maybe that’s me, but that’s a bit too many and I’ve never seen them filled. Also, for some resin mm reason people always like to park on the curb and turn on their emergency lights. Not sure what these people are doing half the time, but it can cause congestion when driving through.
I love how they have a Redbox outside the store. If you’re ever feeling like grabbing a movie on your way out, you conveniently have a Redbox right next to the doors.

Terribke service, only 2 cashier open, one of them express and when I walked up to the express line, the cashier left and telling us she’ll be back… she never did!!!

This place is dirty. Very unorganized with merchandise all over the floors. The H-​E-​B brand steel cut oats I purchased tasted strange. The guacamole slinger was friendly as were the cashiers… but this place could seriously use an upgrade.

Food is always Fresh and they have like 10 lanes… all of them open nearly all the time. You never wait longer than a few mins. Unlike Randall’s where they have 10 lanes and 2 open at ANY time.

I like HEB in general but this HEB I like less due to parking. They have 14 handicap spots and of course, most who park in the spots, aren’t handicapped. They really should remove half of them.
Then you have the people who park literally in front of the store at the curb with their hazards on. They can’t move off to the side and wait, they will sit there and force people to walk and drive around them.
Other than that the store is good.

I love HEB but this location has really bothered me for the last 3 months. I’ve kindly asked several staff members of management to see if corporate office could send them more double seated shopping carts. they have maybe two total (a green one regular size basket that is a race car style and a new smaller red double seater has been added within the last month. these carts are NEVER available whenever I go shopping. I have twin 3 year olds and they do NOT have baskets to accommodate both of them to sit (double seated carts). I cook about 80 percent of the time at home but I like fresh ingredients. so I shop every few days. I’ve been to a few other locations in Houston, Sugarland, Katy and they have the double seater baskets. What has bothered me about today’s visit was me and my twins went grocery shopping and they had a ton of new smaller 2 section baskets. I don’t want to drive 15– 20 mins out of the way to shop at the HEB on Fry road. but I may have too until they get more double seated shopping carts. I’ve emailed and been contacted my corporate office and I have yet to see any of the few baskets the guy said they were sending to this location. They also could have more lanes open for shoppers with more than 15 items.

A VERY loyal HEB shopper!

This location is definitely smaller than the HEB located on I-​10 and Bunker Hill. It gets busy even on weekdays so I wished they opened up more check out lines. The lines sometimes get really backed up which is always irritating. This location is always very neat and organized though and because it’s a little bit smaller than the I-​10 location, it’s a lot easier to find something. The parking is also not that bad. I also like that it’s located right next door to a «I HEART BOBA» store so I can always just stop by there to get a drink on the way in or out of HEB. =)

I like that I can get fresh sushi every day. They will steam my seafood for me. Cut my steaks as thick as I request.
They always have the freshest produce around. I do wish they had a bigger selection of mushroom and peppers though. Like when the big one opened on Barker. I can’t seem to find a bigger selection.

Easy in and easy out this store has the best fresh produce. I feel healthier simply walking in the produce area. The prices are reasonable. But it’s their red velvet cake that is the drawing factor, actually all their cakes are great! Red velvet is the best for sure. Come on a girl has got to have balance.

Good service

The store has declined on customer service in the last couple months. This has been my grocery store for a long time but since the new cashiers are all determined to treat customers like trash, I have a hard time going back.
For example — a bagger put wayyyy too much into a bag and then it ripped, I asked for a new bag… the cashier said No she will take her groceries like you give them to her.
Another time the cashier refused to ring up my groceries until my produce was all together at the front of the scanner (lots of groceries on top!) so I had the whole scanner belt filled up with more in the cart trying to get the produce at the bottom of my cart…
I forgot my wallet in the car, said I would be right back, came back in and my groceries were gone. Cashier laughed.
I have kids so I don’t have time for this crap. There’s too many grocery stores in the area… Kroger is always nice.

My go-​to HEB! I almost refuse to shop at another grocery store chain. Just your typical HEB, not a Plus! or a Market. Good size. Has almost everything I want/​need. But the prices and the service are what keep us coming back (and it’s the closest location to our house). Great deals, and everyone is really friendly. If I can’t find something I need at this location, I can drive a little further to the Cypress Market.
I swear by HEB! I actually feel bad for states that are not Texas and are HEB-​less.

Nothing really to set this particular HEB apart from any other one.
