The HEB gas station here has rude employees and never has change when you are paying for your gas.

Don’t go at night! I was so uncomfortable with the homeless people out front and the poor security guard trying his best to shoo them off and get the loiterers away. Felt like I needed to shove my way in and out of this place. You need more security.

This HEB gets the job done in the most basic way; they do have what I consider«necessities» such as fresh fruits, frozen items, chips, etc. Nothing fancy at this location, probably due to neighborhood. Sometimes the store looks presentable, and at other times it just looks like a war-zone where things are all over the place, dirty floors, crap everywhere, yelling and screaming children running around. The reason I am writing a review is because of my experience here. I came to get some food and noticed some good deals going on so I loaded up and took advantage of those yellow HEB coupons where you get something free or a certain amount of dollar(s) off. Went to pay and literally NONE of those HEB yellow printed coupons worked and the cashier had to manually enter them in and she questioned every single coupon I gave her and told me they were not the right products! First off all, I read the labels carefully to make sure that the items fit the description of the coupon! I had to pull the items out of the cart that was already bagged to prove to her and even down to the ounces labeled on the box. Even then she was hesitant. When she finally manually entered the coupons, she was giving me less than what the coupon value is. So then again, I have to point it out and tell her. Yet AGAIN she gave me a hard time and I had to argue. The whole checkout process took way longer than what it needed it be and I felt sorry for the lady behind me waiting to get checked out. Wasted my time and customers too. This was literally the most stressful experience I’ve ever had with checking out groceries. It was worse than the dreaded pop quiz experience or driving behind a slow driver. Step your game up. I expected HEB to be better than Wal-mart. But I guess Wal-mart is no longer on my most hated list. Overall, HEB needs to train their employees better or have a more efficient computer scanning system.

Not bad for a grocery store. They have a lot of stuff.

Nothing impressive about this HEB. An average grocer, it’s just a convenient location. I prefer the HEB down Westhiemer and kirkwood. Larger variety and fresher groceries. The eyebrow place inside is pretty good though.

Lots of samples provided on weekends. Pretty packed whenever I am shopping here, friendly associates and shoppers and I can find what I need here. Lots of sales here.

HEB makes me want to sing and dance every time i approach the parking lot. I love all of the different types of foods that you find that are not in the other grocery stores. Lord, please lets not talk about all of the samples. I stroll around as if I’m in a buffet line somewhere. Actually I think they probably should have a cover charge just for me. I have gotten several meal ideas just from visiting the area where they cook the little 10 minute meals and provide the recipes. I became a believer and receiver of Tres Leches cake from sampling it at HEB. As you can tell from my writings, I recommend this place even though I have a million check-ins at Walmart!

This is definitely a low-end H-E-B, nothing like your average location. There are so many negatives about this place, I don’t know where to start. Their seafood department is terrible, you can smell it pretty bad from a distance. No matter what you buy, it always comes out spoiled. It’s not just bad filets, but even their shrimp goes bad in the store. I’ve seen whole fish sitting out, without any ice to prevent spoiling. Although they do carry a couple of harder to find varieties, the quality you receive does not justify the purchase. They don’t have a real meat market, everything is already wrapped and packaged for sale. Their meats don’t seem to match the quality of other H-E-B’s and they carry very different cuts than what you’d expect to find at other stores. Oddly enough, this is one of the few H-E-B’s that carries fresh goat in a variety of different cuts. There isn’t much of a bakery here and their produce section is a complete mess. There is an insect problem and the produce appears poorly handled, it doesn’t appear to be all too fresh either. Their stock isn’t well kept and I haven’t seen any sushi at this location either. Their one redeeming factor is their large selection of Hispanic products, their selection is so great that it would almost qualify as a specialty store. They do a great job at catering to the Hispanic market, especially when it comes to Mexican stuff. Overall, this H-E-B is a dirty and unorganized mess. It’s definitely not the place to go if you are looking for quality shopping experience, but it does a great job at carrying Hispanic products. I couldn’t recommend this place to everybody, but it’s worth checking out if you are looking for something in particular.

I am never shopping in the meat section, the rotisserie chicken was not cooked thoroughly, which made me sick.

Over the last few weeks, crawfish supply has improved, so I’ll raise the rating by a star. I also discovered the baskets on wheels, like luggage, which are convenient and cute. I just wish this location wasn’t so dirty. The floor literally has dirt all over it, the corn section looks like a war zone, and the produce looks better at Fiesta across the street. I usually don’t see much at HEB on sale that I can’t find elsewhere, so crawfish is pretty much the only thing that draws me here.

I totally agree with the previous reviewer, John F. Firstly, there are certainly a lot more hispanic products in the aisles compared to other H-E-B’s. Generally, they are some of the first things you see upon entering the store… stuff you’ve never heard of like goat milk lollipops and chucharingo’s(sp?) chips. The store itself is also of much lower quality, probably due to the area. A lot of the produce is not fresh, and many times is insect infested, and the seafood section smells sooooo bad; it makes you wonder what the workers are doing back there! Two of the things I love most about H-E-B, its bakery section and café section, are completely lacking here. Well, there IS a bakery section but it doesn’t look very clean, and I’ve also seen flies and other insects flying around the goods over there. Also, the store is not very keen on restocking, and their beauty section feels more like a part of a prison(a la having its own chained gate!) than a part of a grocery store. Employees aren’t as friendly or as keen on doing their jobs as they are at other H-E-B locations, so that’s another minus. Honestly, if you love shopping at H-E-B, I would suggest any other location besides this one. If I had to sum it up I would say its small, somewhat dirty, and employees lack work ethic.

Since nobody has reviewed this place yet, I will go ahead and be the first to do so. This ginormous grocery was built in direct competition to Fiesta that is right across the Bellaire. As you go thoughout the store, you will notice that there are alot more hispanic products in the aisles compared to the other HEBs. You can also tell that it is waging a price war against Fiesta since they will point out alot of price differences on the shelves. Do not come here expecting to find all your specialized food products nor an «on the run» café. This is mainly a store to get your essential food products and go home. They have an aisle dedicated to international food but I’d rather go to Hong Kong Food Market for a greater variety of international products. There is a BBQ truck at the west entrance. They also have a filipino café here that serves filipino food and chinese food, which I found to be quite strange.
