This is definitely a hidden gem in the area. Loyal customer for over 13 years. The best crunchy general taos chicken. The sauce doesn’t not make it soggy. Chicken, beef, and shrimp chop suey are delicious.

Ok so, I have mixed feelings about this spot. First, I use to ride my bike up here as a youngin’ and absolutely loved it when I was a kid. It was my go to spot. The owner has always been nice and helpful even when I was a snot nosed kid with barely any lunch money. It didn’t matter then how much money I had, the lunch special here is 3.95 cents(it was even cheaper back in the day!). As much as I love this place for the nostalgic and sentimental values it has for me specifically, I just can’t say I enjoy the food that much here anymore. Much of that can be attributed to the fact that as I’ve grown older and my scope of restaurant eating has grown as well, the simple fact can’t be ignored that there are just much better quality chinese restaurants in town with much better food. I guess I would say try it if you are dying of hunger and dead broke with 5 dollars in your pocket. Otherwise, take your money somewhere else and eat a better meal.

Place is absolutely amazing for the price! You cannot go wrong with the fried rice and hot sauce. I also enjoy their general gsos chicken and wonton soup. Typically I order to go cause the place instead isn’t the most appealing but the staff/owner is super friendly.

I don’t remember what I got but I remember I got something that was related to noodles. This place is pretty good, especially take-out during lunch to eat in school. The egg roll is delicious with the sauce, probably the only place I know so far that serves that kind. However, I wasn’t a big fan of one of the soups. However, I am willing to go and try more dishes!

I have been coming here since I was little and this place is still my absolute favorite! The prices are great and the food is great. My favorite has always been the General Tso’s and Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. I’ve had many other dishes and have never had a complaint on any of them. I have never had a bad experience here!

I have been coming here for years. The waitress knows me by sight and brings me my drink as soon as she sees me come in the door. You will not find better chinese food at a better price than King Wok.

This place has been here forever and has always been delicious especially for the price. One of the few places that has stayed true to who they are.

I love this place. I’ve been coming here since I was 7 I am now 20 yrs old and I have no complaints. By far the best Chinese food I’ve tried in Houston and in katy. Try the wonton soup with hot oil.

The boyfriend and I come here pretty regularly. Portions are large, price is cheap. We usually do dinner for 2 for about $ 20. The crab puffs are more cream cheese than crab, but everybody loves that. We like just about everything on the menu. You can’t go wrong with the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, or general tso’s.

Just happened to try this place and cannot complain! Best egg drop soup so far. Service was a little off, we had to get up and ask for a thing or two. But overall we were impressed. Good food, good prices and very friendly. And it was clean. Where else can you get dinner for two for under twenty bucks? We have decided to ditch our regular takeout place because King Wok has much better food.

I usually stick to the same thing every time I come here. Hot and sour soup and chicken with green beans(of the menu). It’s always delicious. The staff is very friendly. I’ve gone here for about 15 years and I can’t recall a bad experience.

Gross!!! I went for lunch take out based on the previous reviews and was not impressed. I ordered Lo Mein, General Tso Chicken with steamed rice. The Lo-Mein had so much starch and a bland flavor it tasted like old Chinese food. General chicken-Gelatinous sauce that was so gross that if I left this food out of the fridge for a month I am pretty sure it would look the same way. The chicken was stale and it truly was the sauce I couldn’t get a hold on. I didn’t even finish the food. I cant even start on what the egg rolls were made out of, I tried to bite them but instead of a crunch I got a chew that I had to rip apart with my teeth, therefor I spit it out. Maybe the other reviews caught them on a better day, but for me it was unauthentic, sloppy and mystery meat.

Nice little chinese restaurant behind chick-fil-A, I wasn’t expecting much but when i walked in, but it was very welcoming. We ordered the hot&sour soup, shrimp with lobster sauce, kungpao chicken, and Buddhist veggies. All entrees came with free rice and it turned out to be very affordable. Will be coming back!

Used to be my favorite place but they are lacking service now. They served me the wrong dish and tried to convince me it was the correct one. I have been coming here for years and I know the difference between the dishes. They didn’t even offer to remake me another one. Sucks because this used to be my favorite place. It sucks even more that they would just treat a regular like that. Don’t think I’m coming back anytime soon. What a let down.

It’s King Wok! It’s ok. A neighborhood family favorite, from way back in the day — it’s been there forever. They could definitely use a remodel, too. BY the looks of the building, I DEFINITELY do not want to see their kitchen — but I could be wrong, the dining room is very clean. One thing I did notice, the high-chairs are from the beginning of time and your kid could possibly get tetnis from sitting in the rusty METAL high chairs… MAJORREMODELING needed — OR a new location. For their crowd(it is very busy) I feel like they owe it to their loyal customers who continue to go to that scary, vacant shopping strip to seek out the tradition of King Wok.

When I moved down here to Houston my now-wife took me there one day and I have been hooked ever since. You get big portions and a GREAT price, even better if you go for their lunch specials. From the day I went in there, and from as long as she can remember the same old guy works the greeter stand where you pay, most likely the owner and his wife is one of the servers there. They are most likely the owners and are as nice as you can be. The other servers that work there are as friendly and fast as can be as well. If you come in and order take-out it never takes more than 15 minutes, which is nice if you chose not to call ahead. As for the food, I thought I ate some outstanding Chinese food out in the Seattle area, but this place blows anything away from out there. In fact, it is the best I have ate anywhere period! Their generals chicken is great and nice and spicy. I also love their hot and sour soup. There is nothing I have ate there that I would not give 5 stars to except their egg rolls to be honest. It is a hole-in-the-wall place, but if you want the best Chinese food you will ever taste and the best price out there, this is the place to go!

Good things come in small packages. That’s always what comes to mind when I think of this place. It doesn’t look like much(like, it REALLY doesn’t look like much. It’s in Alief, and true-to-Alief form, it’s in a ghetto-looking plaza, along with several random businesses), but my family’s been ordering take-out from King Wok ever since we moved to Houston a decade ago. They’re definitely doing something right… probably because you’re getting good food for a steal! I’ve only dined in 2 – 3 times, but service is great. King Wok isn’t usually busy, so the servers are extremely attentive and, although meek, very friendly as well. I enjoy their wonton soup. It may seem a little boring and bland to some(it’s basically wonton dumplings, green onion, spinach, and broth), but I have a thing with honest-tasting food. And it doesn’t get anymore honest than that soup. Other tasty selections: their sweet & sour shrimp and egg foo yung. Whenever I order take-out, there’s always a kind, shy man(not sure if he’s the owner) standing at the hostess desk. He’s basically the embodiment of the term, «sweet old man.» Always a delight to see him! Make sure to try out their lunch specials. King Wok is usually cheap anyway, but this just takes the cake!
