I really like this place. Especially on Sunday evenings after church. They offer $ 1.99 kids meals on Sunday’s. And they have a small playground that my children tend to really enjoy. Service is always really good and the food is awesome. It’s been here for a really long time but for some reason I just discovered it. I guess better late than never!

The place is dirty even the boots and they didnt even ofer to wipe them off. Oysters were warm and a real dark yellow color. Don’t go here. One star is tooooo many. Terrible service. We ate 2 of the oysters and they charged us for half dozen and refused to take off our bill.

Just had lunch here, blackened catfish with dirty rice and coleslaw. The food was great and the price was $ 9.00 for lunch portion which was plenty. Friendly staff and quick service. I sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with two of what must be regulars. They said they do live crawfish so I’ll be back to try some next time.

Place was ok, the calamari you could tell was bought frozen and was on a huge mound of French fries. The sauce looked a little in the dark side and didn’t have the tartness of a true marinara sauce so all together the calamari was a fail for me. On the brighter side, when I asked for some hot tea although they don’t serve it the very friendly waiter made it happen. The crawfish were delicious as my husband’s friend had promised and the snow crab was meaty and delicious as well. I would have preferred to have fresher lemons as they seemed to have been cut from the night or 2 nights before, but all in all the place was OK.

This place is quaint and friendly. We really like the salad bar, it’s clean and fresh. The Hawaiian chicken and Tuna melt are just two of our favorites and they have great hush puppies.

Love this restaurant. The gumbo is amazing. Wait staff very attentive. Great wine selection with awesome prices. Got a Coppola Pinot Noir glass for $ 6. Love the outside covered seating area. First time here but I will be back with the fam.

We got here at 9:30PM, still thinking we would get served, the manager let us know that they close early on slow days. They sent us right out the door, even though they were technically still open. My proposal would be that you change your business hours to reflect this. We wasted our time coming here and had a bad and rude experience from the manager in charge that night. It was June 7th. We were craving seafood and they sent the whole party home. Pretty bad, if you ask me. Won’t be coming back. Will tell my friends about this too. What a shame.

They got my order wrong over and over again. How hard is it to bring a baked potato? Then I ask about it and still they don’t bring it. Really? Ridiculous.

Usually the food is great and the service is good when the owner is here but this time he wasn’t. The guy who works the bar was rude. The waitress was ok but my food wasn’t cooked the way i requested. Was bland this time. I like more spice. Maybe I’m too picky but as a true cajun eateri need it cooked more flavor and the owner alway go out the way to make me satisfied. That’s why i eat here. But after today i will never eat here again unless he’s here. I’ll get better quality food and not over cooked oysters. Hate to give it 1 star but just being honest.

The location is easy to find, if you pay attention. It is on the corner of a strip, but there is a building in front facing Highway 6, we could not see the sign until we passed it. The building just says«The Hook». It is quite casual, feels quite kid friendly(note the sand box and toys outside). Food was excellent. When we went, we both got the crab legs(craving them, but the menu had grilled, fried and boiled items). They had a good appetizer menu, wish I had tried the fried green tomatoes. Mica(sp?) was our server/hostess. She was quite friendly, even though we took maybe 30 minutes to place our order. They close at 9(at least on Tuesday), but we were there past 9:30pm. Not very crowded(again Tuesday) but we did not feel rushed at all. There is a bar to sit at with a couple TVs. Our server told us that they have a big crowd of regulars. It was not expensive or fancy and was a great place for a nice seafood dinner. I would like to go again to try other foods(and crawfish when that time rolls back around).

Great service, very fresh and well kept salad bar, great ice tea and $ 2 rock ritas. Ordered the grilled snapper but I wouldn’t ordered again. Nothing wrong w it, just thought it was too bland. The fried oysters, salad bar and gumbo were amazing !!!

Good but not amazing. I like a little more spice but other than that everything was fine. I got the fried oysters. Others at my table had the catfish and shrimp. I did sample someone’s cheesecake which was fantastic. I heard the peach cobbler was also very good. Good portions. Will return.

This was a place I had bookmarked and when I was asked where I want to eat today I said this is a place I would like to try. So I went with two co workers to see what they had to offer. When we arrived it was very quiet and had only 2 or 3 tables occupied so we seated ourselves. Our waitress came over and introduced herself and gave us menus and took our drink order. They had the regular drink options and tea but they also had Raspberry tea which I ordered and it had just the right amount of flavor for me. Now I read several reviews and it seemed that most things here were good so I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp with cole slaw and a baked potato. My other two co-workers ordered the fried oysters with a salad bar and the 2nd co– worker ordered the fried catfish and shrimp with a salad bar. Now their salad bar has a variety of items but most notably they have potato salad for you to partake in. It didn’t have enough variety of items for my taste but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The shrimp were very good but that catfish were good but small pieces. I wish the pieces were larger. The coleslaw was of the average variety and the baked potato was a nice size and was served with all the trimmings. I normally don’t order dessert but I was not full to capacity yet so I tried their cheese cake and one of my friends had the peach cobbler with blue bell ice cream on top with cinnamon. The cheese cake was fantastic, I don’t know if they made it or was store bought but it definitely was a hit for me. I was also able to taste the peach cobbler and it was delicious also. I would order either on a return trip. One other note, they have free WiFi and all you can eat cold shrimp on Mondays and catfish on Wednesdays. I will return and sample something different in the near future.

Just a shame and a waste of money. The salmon was burnt, small, no flavor. The side order of spinach was truly 1 fork full! The hush puppies were dry and lacked flavor. The fried green tomatoes were greasy and again, had no flavor at all. We received no salad at all. We have ordered here before, so this meal was shocking to us. The cost for something that bad is just shameful. We hope the owners here call up kitchen nightmares, or restaurant impossible and get help!

5 times in less than 2 weeks… let me just start with saying that! That is neither a lie nor an exaggeration. I found this place looking for the bakery on the other end. I haven’t regretted much with the meals I’ve been served. Some days I walked in to a nice sized crowd, other days it was a ghost town. Don’t get deterred either way. The food here is quite delicious of what I’ve tried. I’m a huge fan of the catfish and oysters. idk why but I can’t get enough of either. For $ 10 you can get a entrée and 2 sides for lunch. I always get the salad bar… they have a good variety of lettuces and more toppings than you’d expect to make a big nice plate of rabbit food goodness… including real bacon bits which I love. The food always comes out hot and for you salt fanatics, it might need an extra dash but I like it just the way it comes out. I like the salmon which is more of a long strip than the typical sized piece. The onion rings are a buck extra but so worth it. They automatically include ranch when they bring em. That fried zucchini comes out in strip vs coin sized discs. I’d avoid, just too thick to eat like that! Even the waitress agreed. The crab cakes looked bready to me… not my style but one of my lunch dates(I’ve introduced 3 ppl to this spot) ordered them 2x in a row! The baked potatoes are delicious as well. The dirty rice doesn’t look all that dirty… Did I mention the fried oysters… OMG they are really the reason I keep coming back. I swear I can’t get enough. You get 9 on the lunch plate and 4 if you get them on a combo with another seafood item. The catfish comes cut up in pieces which I don’t particularly like but whatevs… it looks and tastes fresh. Clean bathrooms, friendly waitress, reasonable prices, it’s not fancy but it’s definitely my new spot. 50 cent oysters on Thursdays and AYCE catfish on Wednesday… yeah baby!

The service was excellent. The salad bar was fresh and well kept, which was surprising considering there were only a few people in the restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the portions decent. My only complaint was that there was something about the seafood that I just didn’t care for all that much. That, however, is a personal taste thing. I got a fried platter(I don’t remember the name), and the batter actually had seasoning, which is unusual, in my experience. It just wasn’t a flavor that I personally enjoyed. The dirty rice, though, was really excellent, so I’m sure they have something that I would really like. I just need to stay away from the generic fried stuff if/when I go back.

This was a bookmark that we decided to knock out for date night. I was looking forward to finding a good seafood option in west Houston because it has been very scarce and I’m not even going to start on finding a great catfish spot but this place definitely tried it. Our waiter was the most awesome aspect of our experience his voice was like an old country throwback cowboy who sounded just like one of those radio announcers from back in the day but he didn’t look one second over 24 years old. He was super nice and very attentive and made very good suggestions and backed it up with explanations on why he chose to suggest it. I didn’t feel like he was just trying to upsell us on more expensive menu items like I hear some waiters do in restaurants. Our food was pretty good I got the catfish plate with one fried fillet and one blackened along with onion rings and one salad bar. The salad bar was pretty simple but I like that they had potato salad as well. All in all I give this experience a 7 out of 10 the only reason being that the catfish fillets were kind of small for my liking and the inside looked a little bit on the dreary side. But I definitely recommend this place as an option for some really solid seafood.
