Vino, vino y and vino. I have a wine locker here(surprise) and some good friends have a big one here, too. They are a wonderful facility that keeps the wine at a constant temperature similar to those in Napa Valley Valley(50 to 60 degrees). They have climate-controlled self-storage for both temporary or long-term storage needs. The wine lockers here are made from wood and they have as walk-in rooms. The facility is very clean, safe, secure and affordable with a full range of services available to meet our needs. They also accept wine deliveries as well.

In vino veritas. Wine storage is a tricky thing. For the neophyte, the basics are simple. Wine ages the best the way it has been for centuries: kept at a constant temperature which, by no coincidence, is the average cellar temperature in central and southern France. Cellars, like caves, are the average temperature at a location for the entire year(55 to 60 degrees in this locale). If you are an average Houstonian, your next question may be «What’s a cellar?» Google it. This is an unassuming office space in an unassuming office park near Westpark and 610. It is insulated, filled with lockers and refrigerated to a nice chlly cellar temp, with back-ups, security systems, and temperature alarms. The manager(owner?) Gigi is a pleasure to deal with, and maintains time on the weekends where you can access your wine. It’s a very professional operation. This place doesn’t have a million dollar tasting room and an exquisite space but then again it’s a STORAGEUNIT! You don’t want to put your wine up with some guy who owns a Public Storage and decides to slap on a refrigeration unit and a sign that says«wine». The alarms, back-ups, etc. are pretty standard and you shouldn’t accept anything less. My biggest gripe is the cost, which approaches $ 3/bottle per year. My unit with the same security and back-ups in NOLA runs about half that. Is it worth $ 8 – 9 to add 3 years of age to wine? Definitely. I’m sure there are a lot more impressive collections here than mine. I’ll probably head over to this place during the zombie apocalypse. With an axe.
