As a thank-you to its tenants for launching an extremely successful recycling program, my building hired Houston Ice Cream Party to come and provide ice cream with all the fixins to us cubicle-dwellers. Hey, if recycling would = ice cream more often, I think people would be more inclined to do so. Houston Ice Cream Party set up in the lobby of our building with two carts staffed by uniformed workers, and offered us five varieties of Blue Bell ice cream. The ice cream from«The Little Creamery» in Brenham is the best in my book, so they’d already earned points once I saw the logo of the bonneted girl leading the placid cow. A nearby table was set up with plenty of toppings, including a GINORMOUS bucket of rainbow sprinkles, oreo crumbles, whipped cream, chocolate and strawberry syrups, and green M&M’s(I was wondering what they were trying to tell us until I realized they were green because of the recycling bit). The people behind the cart were serving up ice cream fast and furious and putting it out on a little ledge, which enabled folks to just pick what they wanted and cut down the line quite a bit. I chose Dutch Chocolate and was not disappointed. I’m slurping down the soupy remains of my generous portion just now. Note that this isn’t a storefront, but a catering company, so if you come to the physical location looking for a cold treat, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you’re in the market for party planning, you’ll be a hit, because who DOESN’T love ice cream?!
