I had an AMAZING birthday celebration at this place! The booking manager(Natalie) was extremely helpful! The bartender Brandi was fantastic and truly catered to the needs of ALL of my guest. The band was priceless!!! The lead vocalist truly, truly showed love to the birthday guest. The BBQ downstairs on the way out was delicious! Every portion of my expectations were exceeded!!! #Very Satisfied Customer

Went to this place and all the Cadillacs outside were good indication of the crowd. I looked through the door of the entrance and realized most of the attendees were in their late forties early fifties. There was some young people but none were of the trendy set I would want to hang out with in a club or bar. There will not be any future visits.

Was okay. The perks were, it was free to get in, we got a free concert by one of Beyoncé background singers Ms. Montina, that is breaking out her very own Album. Awesome songstress and artist. The drinks were pretty good. I had the Rum punch I believe. It was my birthday so I was glad to have had a decent experience.

Not bad. Great place to come out and dance. I described it to my friend as an upgraded version of swagger. Great music and great crowd. There’s enough space for you to dance but not so much that you actually lose people in here. It’s a bit difficult to order drinks since the bartenders are a bit preoccupied with themselves but other than that, thumbs up. When we got our drinks, they were okay. They get an extra star because they played dancehall and there was no cover when we came on Sunday. The music and the layout makes this place. Can’t wait to visit again.

I visited this place for a party, and I must admit that it is nice. I got there around 9:30p.m., so the crowd was real slim, and I was able to find a parking spot near the door. There is valet parking available, as well as, street parking. I’m not sure if there is a cover charge, because I was on a guest list for a party. When you walk in, you immediately notice the ambient of the place. It such a cute, chill, lounge kind of feel. We were seated in a section, that had nice couches and decorated seats. Around maybe 10:00 or 10:30p.m. a live band came on to perform. They were great. They played a Neo Soul kind of sound, and I absolutely loved it. The waitress was good, and I love the hostess in the bathroom. After the live band went off, the DJ played. I love the music that the DJ was playing! He had the crowd dancing. Only thing I didn’t like about this place, is the fact that it doesn’t serve food. Luckly a BBQ guy posted up around 11:00 p, m. to serve food, other than that a girl would have been starving. The crowd look like your professional mix, that likes to let their hair hang down on the weekends. I will visit this place again, especially to see the live band! #ConversationswithKee, yes I’m a fan

This venue is located in a perfect location in mid-town. It is located in a small Plaza near shops and the parking lot is not that big. Ladies– if you are wearing heels be careful on the steep staircase that precedes the entry way to the venue. The entry way does not do the inside of the club justice because once inside it is beautiful. There is plenty of plush seating inside with a contemporary décor. I’ve been here only for brunch but am eager to return during club night.

This is such a cute, groovy spot! My homeboy invited me out for their monthly«Live Art in the City» which takes place the first Monday of each month. IMPORTANT: If you have not reserved your seats in advance(yes, you have to make reservations), you won’t have a place to sit, so make sure you arrive at 8pm sharp in order to be able to sit at the bar. There are roughly 8 stools at the bar so first come, first serve. Cover charge for this event is 10 but i think it goes up to 15. Drinks are pricey at 10 bucks a pop(roughly) but i really enjoyed the live music. The first act didnt take the stage til 9 and I left around 10:30 because I had an early day at work. The club is not visible from Chenevert St. & it is «in the cut» and located on the 2nd floor within the little strip mall area in the corner. I loved the décor and ambiance and met some really nice people. I can’t wait to go back on a weekend.

Went here on a Thursday night. It was the location for a networking happy hour I attended. It was dead but I’ve heard that it’s better on the weekends. The inside is really nice and has plenty of seats alongside the wall. There was a stage for live music so I want to go back to enjoy the performances. From the parking lot(which has a limited amount of spots), you can’t see Indigo. Then you realize that there is a walkway in the middle of the shopping center. If you walk up to it, you’ll see the sign for Indigo. Then you have to go up 2 flight of stairs to get inside. Not fun when you have on heels. Cool place though!

I had an awesome time at Indigo. I came to Houston, from out of town, to celebrate my birthday with my friends. I love the atmosphere and chilled vibe of the club(room to dance but also seating available to chill). The clientele was 30’s and up, and as mentioned before the music ranged from 80’s to today, R&B and Hip Hop(the DJ actually played slow jams). I recommend Indigo for couples, out of towners, and people who still love to go out and dance. I will definitely come back when I’m in the Houston area, and I am proud to support this business.

Went here last night by accident and had a blast! We were looking for another place but heard the music and decided to step in. The music was awesome, it was a mix of live funk and DJ. The DJ played a good mix of music– 90s Houston rap, all dat NOLA jam that made the ladies do the NOLA clap and current stuff like the ever popular«Trap Queen». The bartenders were attentive and even give us a free round bc she’d messed up the previous shot(nice of her to admit). Now for the elephant in the room, yes this is primarily a black club but I didn’t feel out of place at all. The ladies were on point with their tight dresses and all their hair did. Men, if you like booties(like I do) of all shapes and sizes then this is the place for you. Also, it’s easy to talk to women here, they were open to conversation and I even got hit on by one… which caught me off guard since us men usually have to make the first move. The crowd was a bit older(some late 20s but mostly 30s — 40s) nothing wrong with that since it made it classier by keeping out the hood rats, scallywags, chicken heads or people that like wearing baseball caps to the lounge. I would definitely go here again to get my jungle fever on.

Went on Halloween night due to the rain so it was a little dead. They put waaaay too much ice in the drinks. There was a live band there that night and they were good. Afterward the DJ was up and he was okay. They served food there as well. Overall okay venue I would go back but only in good weather.

I was growing tired of the same ‘ol midtown bars. This place came recommended by a friend. I arrived around 10 pm on a Friday. There was a $ 10 cover(I hate covers), but I made an exception because there was a live band. This band was amazing. They played R&B covers from the 80s, 90s, and today’s hits. The singer went from The Temptation’s «Papa Was A Rolling Stone» to Jill Scott’s «Crown Royal and Ice». Loved it! This was a super sultry, sexy vibe. The bar was pretty dead when I arrived around 10 up until the time I left at 11:30. I would suggest arriving around midnight if you are looking for a bigger crowd. Despite the dead crowd, I really did enjoy the atmosphere. ITWASCOUPLECENTRAL. Maybe not the best place for a girl’s night out. However, I would love to go back with my boyfriend. The outside can be a bit misleading. It’s nestled on the 2nd floor of a dingy strip center. However, the actual lounge is beautifully decorated, spacious, with plenty of seating. I didn’t try the hookah, but I am told it’s battery operated. Apparently, this is a much safer and healthier alternative to coal hookah. Also, this is a black owned business. I try to support B.OB.‘s as much as possible, especially in the notoriously discriminatory midtown area.

Almost didn’t come here! I contacted the business via their facebook page over a week before I wanted to go to reserve a table. I was told that someone would contact me– and it did not happen. Two days of waiting for a call, I contacted the business again. I tried to be understanding since the Friday I desired to go was also TSU’S homecoming. I even offered to call someone if that was more convenient, but I received an apology and was told that someone named Mark Martin would contact me that day, which was a Saturday… still no call to this day thus the four stars. Luckily I ran into my cousin at a reunion that same Saturday and invited her to a TBA celebration and mentioned my dilemma to go to Indigo. She stated that she knew someone at Indigo and would take care of the table. Turns out, she knew the owner Dennis and we had a table up front! I do agree that having to climb stairs in heels is not ideal, but you don’t have to dress up… just be you! I saw a guy with a white thirty and jeans and some of my guests came casual as well and didn’t have any issues with entry. The crowd is definetly a 30 plus mature crowd and I love it! People actually say hello and smile and are courteous! Bathrooms are clean with plenty of stalls. The bar includes some water dispensers that you can freely access for free to keep you hydrated between shots and drinks. The seating was comfy and the décor is spectacular with wide open spaces to allow people to freely move around and dance provided a pleasant experience for my guests and I. Enjoyed every moment of my night out. I will say that the free buffet food setup on the side should not be counted on to satisfy your pallette. That night, some caterer provided fried chicken breast pieces, jambalaya and french bread. The chicken was alright but the jambalaya was under seasoned and I was turned off to eat what I put on my plate because the white rice for the jambalaya was dry and crispy. Yeah CRISPY!!! The only time rice should be crispy is when you’re making rice crispies! Rule of thumb – if someone can’t boil water or cook rice, you might want to pass your food to the right(throw it away)! I wasn’t taking any chances and I ate before I came so I threw it away. However, since it was free I can’t count this against the business – just be aware. Live Band didnt start at 8… more like 930 and did a 30 minute set. They had a guest lead local vocalist named Kai Hicks! Did some great covers on some 80s and 90s songs. You know the 80s babies went WILD. She definelty got the crowd piped up! By the time the DJ came back up, people were feeling good and had the dance floor filled up but not stuffy. Thank God because I just had my hair done and getting hot and sweaty was not on the agenda, but I was definetly on the dance floor! Great place to hang out with your friends on a Friday night! BTW: They had a rsvp for free entry before 10 on eventbrite that they state to print out, but no one asked to see our paper ticket. Also don’t pay that $ 10 parking across the way. We parked on the side streets of Gray in front of the apartments and we had no problems. You got to check it out and have a good time!

Went here Saturday with my cousin and this play IS the real deal! Beautiful interior — the bar area is amazing! Great staff of bartenders who are ON it with your order. The place is well laid out, different seating areas so you can really have whatever kind of experience you want, private, clubby or just at the bar. The live music is AWESOME — great blend of old jams, 80’s and 90’s stuff — definitely for the 30’s and up crowd and the dress code is for folk that know what clothes ARE if you know what I mean — lol! I had a BLAST. Definitely a nice spot. Parking is easy enough to find, $ 10 for the lot in front or right across the street.

This place is hot and popping! I really enjoyed my self during the Happy Hour! Which kept me and my friends a little bit later then we were expected to stay. A great place to relax and enjoy. The live music was awesome and I did not have to worry about being hot there. Unlike if you go to Café 4212 that place is hot and there is no Happy Hour just High Prices with less Class. Okay peeps Indigo is the place to go.

I really liked this place. We went on a Saturday around 11:30 pm. Pros– crowd is a 30 something-ish group, clean-ish restrooms, great DJ that played everything from reggae to NY hip hop to NOLA bounce, fun atmosphere, decent amount of seating, good drinks, street parking if you can parallel park, great location if you want to «bar/club/lounge» hop. Not too packed, but definitely a crowd. Not too club-like and not overly bar like. A good balance of what a 30 year old, black Houstonian would enjoy. Cons– stank-ish bartender(s), dumb cover charge($ 10…really? I hate cover charges!), stairs(lol, drinks + heels +stairs= pending disaster) Will definitely be back.

Went here for a graduation party. The venue was very nice and classy. The live music was so great. The cover charge was worth it just for that! The drinks were not watered down but strong. Also, the bathrooms were clean and smelled nice. There were bathroom attendants who offered soft towels for hand drying and everything from mouthwash to perfume to hair spray. The manager was easy to spot and was quick to action when we had an issue. Definitely an A+ club/lounge that I will be revisiting.

I went to Indigo recently to celebrate my friend’s birthday and we had a blast. Our VIP section was comfortable and the employees were very attentive to us. The live music was excellent and the DJ that played after was really good as well! I love the over 30 crowd and ambiance at Indigo. I will definitely be back!

This place gets a solid mark for the entertainment. They are bringing in some very solid local performers. This place has been renovated since I was here years ago & they have done a pretty good job with it. However low marks for the only wine being offered: Moscato. I mean can you be any more typical, LOL. There was no Chardonnay, no Riesling, no Pinot Grigio ??? At a minimum they should have a bottle of this somewhere OMG. Again, great, talented musicians, but if you want to keep your crowd & expand your appeal you have to offer a little bit more.

I’ve been noticing events at Indigo for a while now and finally got the opportunity to go to a show last night which was great! In out city, there are so many places to go and hang but it’s all about trying to find the environment that fits you. I love to hear live local talent and this spot seems perfect. Looking at the set up of the stage and band was like being a kid in the candy store. My wife and I was introduced to Dennis, the owner, last night. He seem to be serious about the success of the business. Before I found out he was the owner, I noticed he was walking around, watching and making sure things were going smoothly. I really wish the best for this business. My plans are to go back for more shows!
