Smoked boudin link nearly twice the length of a banana and three meals worth of smothered pork chops for the win! So delicious. Get yourself over to J.W.‘s NOW!

So I’m watching Bizarre Foods America and Andrew Zimmern in New Orleans and Iberia Parish eating boudin and swine. I crave that boudin and Unilocal for it and stumble upon reviews for a promising place. I drive the 30 odd miles from Sugar Land to J. W’s this afternoon. This«hut» is so nondescript, I missed it the first time. Once I got there, the smoky aroma was all it took to salivate. I got 3 links of hot boudin for $ 7.95. They must be approx. 1 pound each. Once I got home, I cut a piece and heated it in the microwave. It is one of the best boudin I have ever had. It is worth every penny and miles spent on it. To those of you who go there, please go just for the boudin. Don’t look around and speculate about the shape of the kitchen. I did not even bother with all the other stuff. I am an «in and out» shopper. I am going to have a long term relationship with this boudin.

I was in the mood for some authentic Cajun cuisine on my recent trip down to Houston. I couldn’t have asked for anything more real than JWs. In the strip mall maze that is greater Houston you’ll find the occasional Crawfish joint or Pappadeaux — but if you’re willing to make a trip out to the middle of nowhere, go find JWs. I had the gumbo, boudin, candied yams, mustard greens, and a cake to round things out. Everything packed a ton of flavor and was served lovingly and with pride. My only regret is that I didn’t visit about 3 weeks later when crawfish season would have those juicy little tails overflowing the etouffe and other dishes.

Oh Lawd, you haven’t had cajun food until you have gone to JW’s Original Cajun Boudin Hut! The boudin, Red Beans and Rice, Chili, and Sock it to me cake were the best I’ve ever tasted! Sorry Mama. Thanks JW’s for bringing REALCAJUNTOHOUSTON!

I really wanted to come back here and try some other items on the menu, so I convinced some friends of mine to host dinner the other night, because they live closer to this place than I do. Five of us ordered the smothered steak dinner, fried fish special, jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice, a homemade beef sausage, a smoked spicy boudin link, a piece of the sock-it-to-me cake, and some teacakes and served it up family style. There was probably enough food to feed eight people, and it cost a little more than $ 40. Ridiculous. Everything was absolutely delicious, and even the pickiest eater in our group enjoyed everything. So worth the trip out, if you can find a nearby place to eat your food.

Oh boy do I love boudin and JW’s has the some of the best They’re known for boudin, but they also sell sock-it-to-me cake that is to die for. Its the perfect size just enough for one person. This cake is so moist and buttery. The icing on top is drizzled evenly so that every bite you get consist of icing. When I go I don’t only buy 1 I usually by 3 or more just for myself. The prices are great the cake is only $ 2. I would recommend anyone in the area to stop by and have a taste.
