Quick and easy! Good sandwiches but not the best. Chicken pot pie soup is always good, but the gumbo is hit or miss(one time I got seafood gumbo at this location without a single shrimp, so that is kind of annoying). This location is convenient for catering lunch meetings in the medical center but make sure to order with enough buffer time! They are consistently slow on order deliveries and often deliver outside of the time window they tell you.

It’s super funny to me that other reviewers complain that there’s too much meat in their sandwich. I will be dating myself to say this but I am pretty sure they didn’t grow up in a time when«where’s the beef» was a slogan everyone knew. That being said, I’ve been here tons of times and never ordered the turkey wrap. I felt like there could have been a lot more turkey on it and I could’ve done without the mayo but that’s my fault for not mentioning it. What this place lacks in the flavor dept, it makes up for by the service. I feel it could be a bit faster but I also don’t think it’s terribly slow and I’ve gone during lunch hour during the week. Once you sit staff are always coming by and asking if you need anything which is super helpful if you need assistance and can’t leave your table. Seems like a good variety of soups, though I’ve yet to try them. The free ice cream isn’t worth the calories, unless you’re a toddler that moves as if you are driven by a motor. Also, skip the crackers with the pumpkin seeds in them as you may have to visit your dentist afterwards due to a chipped tooth. I am not sure if they are supposed to be so hard, but they are. In terms of a casual lunch place with counter service, there aren’t to many options so I’ve found myself here a bunch of times last year.

The food over all is decent. it’s usually thrown together though. The reason for the low rating was because of the service. Literally everyone working their seems miserable. And to top it off on 2 occasions I have heard managers(or who I assume are managers) speaking poorly of other employees. Very unprofessional

Ordered a small catering(15 people) to be delivered approximately 5 miles from the Jasons Deli for 1145am. The driver eventually showed up at 12:35. Completely unacceptable to be that tardy. When the food finally arrived it was average.

Will probably never come back to this place. Came in and was reading the menu that was on the wall and was rudely told by the cashier to come to the register to order. I was very hungry and wanted something quick. I ordered a turkey wrap and broccoli cheese soup. The turkey wrap tasted and looked as if it had been sitting in a fridge for weeks. It was stale, hard, and had no flavor.(I’m getting nauseous just thinking about it!) The broccoli cheese soup was ok. Nothing worth returning.

Is it weird that I’m a regular here yet dislike the place? I live very close to the village so it is convenient if I want something quick and easy. Jason’s deli is located on the second floor above Victoria’s Secret. You can either take the escalator or stairs. When you walk in they have menus that you grab yourself and can look at to order. The food is honestly very mediocre. They put a huge amount of meat in their sandwiches to the point where you feel like you’re eating only plain deli meat. Bread isn’t outstanding. Their pasta is just pasta with sauce on it. The all you can eat salad bar is a good choice but you have to eat a lot to get your money’s worth for $ 8 of lettuce. It comes within 5 minutes of ordering so they’re very fast or some of the food isn’t fresh. The cookies are really good but who complains about cookies. They do have complimentary soft serve free of high fructose corn syrup, whoop whoop! The interior is fairly clean, it’s not a fancy place. The service is average as seeing the place is also average. Just a place to grab and sandwich.

I don’t know that I actually enjoy eating at Jason’s Deli. For one, sitting in this Jason’s Deli is possibly one of the most depressing things you can do. The day after the 2015 Houston Flood I came here with a friend after working out, and despite the fact that almost every restaurant that was open was swamped with people, there were like 5 people in this Jason’s Deli, which can probably seat over 50. My desire to continue returning to Jason’s Deli has more to do with the fact that I’m getting a really big sandwich for not that much money, and that I can have hella ice cream for no additional cost(mind you, they have the world’s smallest cones). I don’t really care how the food tastes. I just want a lot of food and I feel moderately guilty eating out as much as I do, so I want it to be pretty cheap. Jason’s Deli is semi cheap but has surprisingly filling protions, so it’s worth.

The manager at this location is amazing. You can tell he is customer focused and his employees are motivated to work for him. A new employee botched my order. I was in a hurry so I ate it anyway. He came over 2x to ensure it was okay and to explain he has a new employee. He educated her on the differences and couldn’t be more friendly about it.

I have been coming to this location(Rice Village) off and on for many years. More frequently now since they moved it upstairs in the space that formerly was Two Rows(may they rest in peace). I have yet to experience anything bad or unusual there. I mainly go for the salad bar to-go and, occasionally, their chicken noodle soup. I think the only complaint I have is that their large to-go container for their salad bar is vey flimsy. It has broke on several occasions, and the staff has been very accommodating in replacing it. But, I wish it was a bit more sturdy as compared to the smaller version of the salad-to-go container. Oh well.

Completely inconsistent customer service and pricing. I go in several times a week to get a kids salad bar. To my surprise today I was told I was not allowed to get a kids salad bar to go unless I have a child or if I’m eating the salad in the restaurant. I was then asked to pay the full price adult salad and was given a kids size Togo container. Shortly after my stomach hurt along with my other co workers who ate Jasons Deli salad bar that day. I will never be returning to this location.

Fun place, typical food. The wraps are really good and the yogurt dip for fruit is super tasty.

Our office did catering from here today and it turned out pretty good. We were having a small meeting(6 people) and needed to get lunch. Our admin ordered with them the morning of the meeting, and the food came at noon on the dot as promised. We ordered 6 boxes which each included a turkey sandwich, chips, fruit, some kind of dipping sauce for the fruit, and a brownie. The turkey sandwich was pretty good, but it had a little too much meat for me. I had to take some of it out. Besides that, it was very tasty. It was on whole wheat bread so healthy too! The chips were good and fine, and the brown was oh so yummy! oh. so. yummy. It was gooey and chocolatey and heavenly goodness. So good I was even considering stealing another one from the extra box we had left over. But then decided against it considering I was the one in the office that requested a «healthy» lunch :) The only thing that I wasn’t satisfied with was the fruit. It seemed a bit old, and not completely fresh. Overall, we would probably order from here again(actually, we already put in another order for a meeting tomorrow :). Hoping the fruit is better this time around! Besides that, it was a pretty delicious lunch!

SO disappointed in today’s experience at Jason’s Deli. I normally buy lunch here since I work in the shopping center and they are usually extremely nice and cordial, even when busy. But today when I went in to pick up my to-go order, I experienced awful customer service that went complete opposite of what I normally get. It was about 1:50−2 pm on a Friday and they weren’t busy at all, at least not for the Togo counter. There was one cashier, and she never greeted me or ask how she could help. She was busy filling out some sort of paperwork/application. She only stopped to swipe my card. And when she handed me the receipt for me to sign, she doesn’t leave me a pen, and there are none around for me to sign, and walks away without a word. She hands me my food without saying a word. I’m sorry, your paperwork/application may be important, but it wouldn’t kill you or waste too much of your time to stop ignoring the ONEANDONLY customer that needed to be helped. I was literally the only person by the checkout counter and all I needed was to pick up my food but that doesn’t mean you should completely ignore me and not pay attention to serving me. I will be calling the manager later on, because not only did she give terrible service for me, but I can’t even tell them which employee it was because she didn’t give me my copy of the receipt that I wasn’t able to sign for. And on top of horrible customer service, I got super stale chips in my taco salad. There was just nothing good about this experience.

If you are in the mood for an AWESOME biuld your our salad Bar with a variety of sandwhich to choose from… look no further! I love Jason’s Deli because they are always consisent, friendly, tasty and they have the best salad bar around! Depending on my mood I will always get the manager’s special which includes any half of a sandwhich with choice of fruit, chips or steamed veggies and a 1 trip to their MASSIVE salad bar for only $ 8 ! This equals 2 meals in my book b/c I almost always end up getting full after my salad(mainly b/c I drag it through the garden and put alsolutely everything on it I can… including the kitchen sink) and just eat my sandwhich later. Only con I guess about this place would be the location since it’s upstairs in Rice Village Shopping Center so parking can be a pain. I recommend parking in the garage if you can’t find a spot… they will validate it for you.

Yesterday afternoon, I placed an order for pick-up at 9:00AM today for four boxes of cookies. When I arrived at 9:15AM, the order was not quite ready. They asked me to wait for the fresh cookies that were coming out of the oven– they smelled absolutely delicious, so I had no problem waiting! While I was standing around, one of the clerks offered me a drink, free of charge. I was thrilled by her hospitality, especially since it’s so rarely found in today’s world. She then asked me for my favorite cookie, and provided it to me, hot, gooey, and melted, right out of the oven. I was so impressed! Virginia, you absolutely made my morning. Thank you so much for your superb customer service! P. S. The boxes of cookies were a hit at my meetings!

Thank goodness Jason’s Deli validates parking, because trying to find parking in Rice Village outside of the garage is always a nightmare. Jason’s Deli offers a solid selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups that are reasonably priced. Plus, if you dine in, there is complimentary soft serve ice cream! Personally, I really enjoy their blue tortilla chips alongside my order. They’re also great for mass ordering(i.e. for meetings). Since they are so close to Rice, they deliver on campus, which is extremely convenient. When I had a string of dance shows several nights in a row, my friends and I were able to order Jason’s Deli for dinner and have it delivered straight to the recreation center, which saved a lot of us from starving. :D

Do not ever order large catering orders from here, ever. We ordered 800 boxed lunches for a large gathering, and let them know a month ahead of time. And reminded them the day before. They said they could not only do it, but deliver the meals. Guess what we got? 240 sandwiches 2HOURSLATE that we had to pick up. Extremely unprofessional, irresponsible, and unacceptable.

Jason’s Deli can really make you dislike people even more than you already do. It’s not quiet, ever. The food is marginally better than prison food, but at least there are numerous options so you can feel like there is some reason to come here rather than some other bulk quantity type chain sandwich shop. But in all actuality listen to your gut and go elsewhere, thank me later.

I go to this place quite often as I’m in the Medical Center almost every day. I love that they have light portions and I don’t have to be taking leftovers home. And these light portions include salads and pastas.
