Service was horrible and so was the food. I used to love going to Joe’s Crab Shack. Our server never came and checked on us unless I had gotten her attention. She never once smiled at us, never once asked for the food was, and had an attitude the entire time. Usually I’m the one to walk in and if I don’t like something I won’t ever say anything about it I’ll just eat what I can and leave. I got the snow crab bucket, it didn’t come out even remotely hot. Then after I proceeded to call her over again for our checks she didn’t even check us out. The bartender or busser had to do it for her. After we left. I sat in my car for a good minute and then as I was driving off I looked into my rear view mirror to see our waitress chasing us down as I was pulling out and as she was chasing us down all you hear is «fucking bitches» completely uncalled for! The manager on duty stood around and talked to the servers and when he walked passed us he looked and continued to walk on, obviously we didn’t have very pleasing looks on our faces so you would have thought he would have asked how every thing was. Never and I mean NEVER will we be returning to this place again.

Avoid this restaurant! If I could I would give it a half star! They charged $ 11 for a glass of Chardonnay! In addition they didn’t know how to make a proper Margarita. The nachos were very sad. They were burnt and hardly had any toppings.

It had been a while since my family and I ate here after the other day I remember why we stop coming here. I ordered the King’s Bay Mahi and it was awful. The rice that comes with it had very little flavor And the fish was disgusting the only thing that was worth eating was the broccoli. My husband ordered a steak and it tasted and smelled like stale milk. Won’t be coming here ever again. Most people around us were ordering the steam pots, maybe that’s the only thing they make good here.

We went for dinner the other night and we wish we hadn’t. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and asked for marinara to come with it. Calamari was good but server gave us cocktail sauce. We ordered the $ 2 hurricanes. They were good. The steam pots we ordered got mixed up. My husband should have gotten the spicy… easy fix we switched plates. The shrimp and crawfish in both steam pots were very over cooked. There was nothing tender about them. Corn potatoes and sausage were good. Server didn’t bring the requested ketchup or spoon for the kids. We ordered our 2nd hurricanes and they never came. We had to ask for our server to get our drink atleast 15 minutes later. This is by far the worst Joe’s Crab Shack I have ever been to. I refuse to pay those prices for over cooked seafood and horrible service.

We moved to Spring about 9 months ago and have been wanting to try this Joe’s Crab Shack for a couple of months now. The weather was great in Houston/Spring today, so we decided to enjoy some crab outside on their patio. We also noticed that they have a play area, so we liked that our 8 yr old would be able to play while we enjoyed some brews and the great weather! We walked in and there was no hostess there to greet us and sit us. We looked around and the place looked empty. A lady approached us and sat us outside like we requested. We sat down and she told us someone would be right with us. Our waitress came and took our drink order and then a couple of minutes later she took our order. She was really nice. I didn’t like that our table wasn’t cleaned. It just felt like it needed a wipe down. Anyways, we ordered the East Coast Platter and the snow crab and our son ordered off the kid menu. We were so not pleased with the East Coast Platter. The picture on the menu is so deceiving! There was on piece of fish, one crab cake, 3 really small shrimp served over a whole bunch of fries and string onion rings. the crab was tasty, just not steaming when it was served to us. We will definitely not be going back. We paid too much for that dumb platter! I’m surprised this place is still open. I ALWAYS check Unilocal before we visit restaurants and the one time I don’t, it backfires.

Went today for lunch was great, server sold us, food was so good service was amazing. Decided to return for dinner to get a bit bigger plate instead of splitting like we did at lunch. Server this evening gave me a dirty wine glass with lipstick sent it back. 2nd time gave me same dirty glass 3rd she was pouring wine from dirty glass into another glass. Explained to manager, received no response. Decided it was time to leave.

Just went there, party of 5. They had open tables everywhere, several in the bar and all over the restaurant but was told an hour and a half wait bc the servers. There was about 2 groups waiting before us and you could look out and see empty tables everywhere.

Sooo… here’s the situation. From 4:30 til 6:00 I have had the wrong meal given to me and the correct meal that was burned as you will see in the picture. The kitchen took an exceptionally long time to make the burned shrimp. We sat in the bar area. The server was really nice. The restaurant seemed a bit understaffed. The bartender at one point had to double as the hostess. It took a very long time for a manager to come to our table after we requested one. My daughter’s crabs were good. The manager did offer to remake or replace with something else but my appetite was gone.

Been a while since we’ve been in Joes. Server arrived asking what we wanted to drink. Replied, I wanted Shiner blonde. Was told they dont carry Shiner(WHAT), but had Ziegenbach and it was produced by Shiner. Had to give him a lesson on Shiner beer. He said they had Blue Moon and it was a small craft beer company. Informed him it was owned by Coors and wasnt the small craft brewery the tv ads led you to believe. The managers need better trained personnel. Ordered 2 of the East coast platters. Arrived in a timely manner. Not what we expected. Three small bacon wrapped sh rimp, I small piece of fish, a crab cake and a TON(covered the majority of the plate) of fries and onion rings. Definately NOT worth $ 18.99. Will not be returning to Joes Crab Shack any time soon.

Most horrible experience… we got seated fast for having a large group but took 30mins for them to get our drinks. Then our waiter was serving other large tables and it took 2 hrs for our food, not counting that one in our party didn’t get their food at all. We tried to make the manager on duty aware, she just walked away. We used to love coming here but will not be back.

Waited to be seated party of 4 because I was going to get the best service. Get seated waited 25 minutes to get 2 drinks complained and finally got all 4 drinks after 35. I spoke to the manager who didn’t care whatsoever. He was very rude and condescending when I spoke to him. Too bad Joe’s Crab Shack used to be so good and so much fun. Don’t come to this one in spring/Houston area.

Lobster and crab were cooked to perfection. Margarita was great especially with an extra shot of patron. They make a big deal on the first day and have a lot of fun with it

Worst service ever. So terrible I installed Unilocal just to warn others. Not only were we forced to sit in the sweltering Houston June heat and mosquitos. But after waiting for over an hour for our food and getting the wrong appetizers our waitress had the balls to tell us our party was less important than the ones inside. Not good at all. And expensive. Haven’t been in twenty years. Now I recall why. My food came out cold, Thad broccoli was over cooked and the rice did not taste right. I decided not to eat my food because I suddenly was afraid that I would get food poisoning. I didn’t get food poisoning it just wasn’t good. I won’t go back.

Definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had at Joes. We love joes, we used to go back home in Destin Fl all the time and never had a bad experience. This time the service was awful, she acted like she was weeded with 2, 2 top, tables. Never refilled our drinks and even complained to us about having to get a garnish for his Bloody Mary. That’s just ridiculous. Don’t complain about having to get something for a table TO the table, don’t you know that’s making your bill higher which raises YOUR tip percentage? Smh. Plus her attitude was awful, not friendly at all. Had an attitude about getting crab crackers so we could eat our food. Now for the food. Came out warm. Not steaming. And I swear they have cut the portions at least in half. We were very disappointed when the food came out. If we’re paying 28 $ a steam bucket I want to come out of the restaurant FULL. Not just satisfied and probably gonna eat again in 2 hrs. Like I said a horrible experience. Probably my last time at Joes for a long time. Definitely the last time at that Joes ever. Seriously disappointed with having to pay as much as we did for as little as we got.

This was BAD!!! Granted it is Joe’s Crab Shack, a chain establishment, but my husband wanted crab legs so here we are. Btw, I’m typing this review as we sit here waiting for them to get our drink order properly. We have been here for almost 20 minutes and we’ve had the displeasure of meeting 3 of their wait staff members already. Obviously, it takes 3 people to take a drink order for 2 people. Let’s see if they can get our food order correct…

The food was ok not the best but not the worst. Service was pretty bad. Had to ask multiple times for our drinks, silverware, and additional items to compliment our meal. For the icing on the cake as I was leaving I went to wash my hands and saw a server coming out of the stall(after flushing the toilet) and leave out of the restroom without washing her hands.

Service here could be a lot better. The only thing the waiter did was talk me into getting the delicious fried lobster tail. Sad to say that was the last time I seen her. I had to stop another waiter for a refill on my drink and my check. I also gave that waiter that helped me the tip.

What happened?!? — okay so admittedly it has been close to 12 years since dining at a Joe’s — we just moved back to Houston this year. SOOOOOO disappointing. These guys used to have pretty killer gumbo — the rich, «soupy» kind. Not the nasty gumbo for the masses cream of wheatish thing they served here. Menu has deteriorated — everything fried and stuffed and the crab leg selections have gone downhill too. Overall, huge disappointment and will not go back. This might be a great place to go if you want mediocre service(in their defense it was not horrible) — anything stuffed and fried and«dumbed-down» Louisiana /Cajun food.
