This place used to be ok but now the crawfish are scooped from a large white ice cooler and are soft and soggy. Sorry LA I used to love Y’alls bugs!

This place is the been going here for at least 3 years? Iunno. Losing count on the crawfish season. Ahahaha. But I LOVE this place. The staff is alway so helpful and so so so nice. They definitely upgraded their furniture maybe a year now and I’m totally digging the look. Glossy tops and some have crawfishs all over them. Another great thing is you can BYOB ;) just be sleek about it and wrap it in a napkin LOL. Love their garlic butter flavor. I die each time I eat their crawfish. It’s like an explosion from within ;)

I normally love the crawfish at LA Crawfish but today I was very disappointed with the quality. I know it’s still not quite crawfish season, but every single crawfish in our 5 pound order was small and mushy. Hopefully once they start serving live crawfish the quality will improve. If you want your money’s worth, wait until March to fulfill your crawfish craving. My craving was not satisfied today.

I normally really love this place, but today my crawfish cravings have been dissatisfied. Out of the 5 pounds of crawfish that we ordered, 90% of the crawfish were all mushy, and dead… Very disappointed in the quality of the crawfish that I have received today. I feel cheated out of my money, that they’d even serve us a platter full of soft, small, and mushy crawfish. Will definitely have second thoughts now about returning back here, at least other crawfish places at this time have live crawfish, or even have better quality frozen crawfish. Maybe will give another try during crawfish season… But for now, while not in season, I will definitely not return here for my crawfish cravings; unless it’s for tiny, mushy, dead crawfish.

Amazing place to bring your families and friends! Many seatings available in the restaurant or in the cafeteria. Best Crawfish place in Houston! Great food and the workers are very friendly/helpful. Live sacks of Crawfish contains big size Crawfish!

Used to be a lot better. I know it’s early in the season so I expected them to be small but all of mine were teeny tiny and way over cooked. Everyone in my table had over cooked crawfish with that rubbery texture. Also when I got my I crawfish they were like warm at best, not even hot. Only reason I gave 3 stars and not two was for the flavor and wings.

It is located inside ranch 99 and is pretty crowded. The chicken wings are really good. Crispy and a nice flavor and slightly spicy. The crawfish is pretty good. And decently priced. I will definitely be back. It is cool also you can«bring your own beer»!

Crawfish flavor was really good. The Phở was decent, but not my fav in town… Plus they were out of bean sprouts so that was a bummer. Get there early, parking is tough at peak lunch times

Overall: Underrated Phở at a great price. Hot & Sour Phở is one of my favorites and Beignet fries with condensed milk is addicting. This is a no frills, pay at the front, bus your own table, condiments at the counter type of establishment. LA Phở 4 of 5. Its not the best in town but for a hot bowl and at this price, it just can’t be beat. I paid less than $ 8 for a Phở Dac Biet(aka Phở Deluxe or Phở Special with everything). The noodles were perfectly cooked and the meat was fresh and tender. Many places you’ll find the noodles off, the meat dry or overcooked, and the broth trying too hard to be unique. If you want good standard bowl of phở on the cheap and to be able to get in and out fast, this is your spot. Hot & Sour Phở 5 of 5. Its one of kind. I love Thai style hot and sour soup and I love Phở. When I heard about this, they combined two of my favorite things and made it delicious. Hot and Sour soup is generally sipped on at a Thai restaurant, too overpowering as an entrée but they’ve toned it down, added some depth, and created a great fusion food. Beignet Fries 5 of 5. I’ve had Crescent City and Chez Beignet but their take on Beignets are to die for. These are the addicting crack of the Beignet world. When cut into fries you get less fluffy sponge and more french fry crunch. Topped with your typical powdered sugar and drizzled with condensed milk they add a sweet richness to an already great dessert.

I would give them no stars or even ban them from severing frozen pre-boiled crawfish while claiming that they are fresh. I can tell when the crawfish is frozen and pre-boiled then heat it up when you order. I don’t know how these people who go here can’t tell. I find it super offensive because it’s deceiving. I’m paying for fresh and I got frozen and pre-boiled.

This was my first experience trying the shrimp-boil. This time I had the butter-garlic shrimp. I ordered 2 pounds, which translates approximately 20 – 22 shrimps. My wife and I shared the shrimp-boil and and it was plenty for both of us. The shrimp were well cooked and the flavors were good. It is very messy given that the shrimp is not peeled, so I it is better to eat it at the restaurant. I took it to go and made a big mess, but fun mess. I would try this place again and the other alternatives given for the shrimp-boil. The staff was very friendly and helpful when ordering.

I love this place. I’m surprised that some reviewers found it pricey — for $ 6.99/ lb you get high quality crawfish! They taste fantastic — I think the garlic butter is awesome and you get to pick your spice level. The service is super nice, and the crawfish comes out really fast. You can add corn potatoes etc for cheap, and there’s all the dipping sauces! It’s very clean, and I love the system of giving you a tablecloth that you can pick up and dump into the trash at the end. I’ve had the oysters too — that green chili is my fave. Only $ 12 for a dozen! This place is fantastic. Will be back!!!

I cannot recall how I first came to visit this place, but I’ve been shucking here for approximately 4 years now. I feel like an insider as I drape the table of my choice in the bundled table setting that is inclusive of a paper cloth, some napkins and a bib – all I need for a good time!!! Such a selection and dressing is made all within a grocery store! You may, however, want to shop before you eat as this place is BYOB. I’m not quite sure of how or why they would continually expand their menu without making money by way of expanding drinking options. The sniffling and cracking are almost addictive and infectious. There seems to be a somewhat automatic sense of community and equal opportunity here. I especially love how I’m seemingly to be able to make my own way, my own decisions, and still feel welcome to return. There are locations popping up all around me(Clear Lake, and I just saw a sign in Baytown), but I’m a sort of «original» girl, so I think I’ll stick to this location. And I’m not sure if those other locations are BYOB, and I take great pleasure in my own drank! Besides, this place is close to my favorite frozen custard place, on Fry Rd, and who doesn’t like shopping for mushrooms, fish, eyeglasses, and purses in the same location that they delight on crawfish?

Likes to advertise that it’s fresh, but it’s obviously a mix of frozen and fresh(product is being«cut» to get more quantity). I fell for the we have a farm so we get fresh ahead of others marketing ploy. A little embarrassed since the Richmond location fooled me last year. I suspect that they believe if they cut the product people would doubt their intuition that it’s frozen, since the next piece may be fresh. This place is dead to me. Seafood Shoppe, although a little further out, is forever the best and always, I mean always live crawfish or they won’t sell.

I was in Houston running some errands and I had the sudden craving for crawfish. Looked up the nearest crawfish place and stopped by LA Crawfish to satisfy my craving. Ordered a pound of spicy garlic butter crawfish with sausage and potatoes, and it was srsly the best $ 10 I’ve spent. Great place, the service was awesome, and the workers there were so nice. Next time I pass through Houston, I’m definitely going there again.

I’ve been here at least once a month either to get crawfish, phở, wings, or beignets for the past year. They are always consistent in flavors. The service is always friendly and laid-back. THAIGREENCHILIOYSTERS These oysters are so fresh and yummy. I’m a bit sad that they changed the flavoring though. At the other location on 249, they use different chili and it’s so good and flavorful, but they changed it to just green chili and this place is also the same. only green chili. There’s still some heat, but the flavors aren’t as pronounced and wonderful. Other than that, the oysters are still so juicy and tasty! PHOSATE The phở here is pretty decent. The meat are fresh, but what can you expect? They’re located inside a supermarket; so I wouldn’t expect anything less. The flavors are interesting and it keeps me coming back every time. SPICYLEMONPEPPERWINGS Their flavors are great! The chicken is crisp on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. I love that you can either just get flats or drums or both. I always come back here because service is great and quality of food is consistent and yummy.

Moving to Houston soon, and in the spirit of embracing my new city I thought I’d eat what the locals eat. Had been to a Boiling Crab in Cali before but never ventured to try Craw Fish. Glad I did, but I have to admit I am still confused about the proper«technique.» Tried the Cajun and Garlic Butter crawfish. Both bomb. Must add the corn and the potatoes. Need like 2lbs per person. If you’re all in, get that bib. No time to worry about being clean, just get to it. I would say that crawfish are more involved than shrimp so if you want to avoid you hands smelling like sauce all day, you can ask for gloves.

2.5 stars rounded down to 2 for reasons listed below. I find LA to be overrated. Perhaps they’ve started to slack because they’ve made such a name for themselves and people will be lining up no matter what. Perhaps they’ve become complacent. Perhaps they’re not the same LA Crawfish they used to be. Whatever the reason may be, I was underwhelmed after hearing so much hype. LA Crawfish would’ve gotten 3 stars from me had their crawfish not been overcooked. I got the crawfish phở and my boyfriend got 4 lbs of crawfish. We got our orders extremely quickly — within 5 minutes of ordering. I’m used to waiting a good 20 – 30 minutes for crawfish at other establishments so this caught me off guard. I didn’t know if this batch had just been cooked or had been sitting around waiting to be coated in seasoning, bagged up and delegated out. My boyfriend really enjoyed the garlic seasoning on his crawfish but he immediately knew that the mud bugs were overcooked. Perhaps a downfall of their quick delivery is how they do their mass prep. The crawfish didn’t absorb any of the flavor despite being completely saturated in it. They probably cooked the crawfish first and then mixed it in with seasoning versus looking crawfish with the seasoning. The crawfish phở was not the best phở I’ve ever had in the world. But it definitely had some crawfish flavors in the broth. The portion size was large but for 7 bucks and some change, it better be a big bowl of soup. The crawfish meat in my soup was just as overcooked and tough as the crawfish my boyfriend had. Even the little guy hanging off of my phở bowl was overcooked. There wasn’t a plethora of mud bug meat to consume and they put sausage in to make up for it. The sausage was tasty but I ordered crawfish phở not sausage phở! In addition to that, they put bean sprouts in the broth for you which I’m not a fan of. If I want to add in bean sprouts, mint and other veggies to my phở, I should be put it into my soup myself. I may give LA Crawfish a chance again in the far future but I’ll probably stick to my other go-to joints in the meantime.

Loved it! Definitely one of the best places for crawfish in Houston! Crawfish — We got 6 lbs total of garlic butter and Cajun crawfish(4&2) for 2 people, so stuffed after but also very happy and satisfied :) I like the Cajun more because it’s more juicy and flavorful, hubby loved the garlic butter more, which also seems to be the favorite for most people. Price — $ 6.99/ lb(February), not cheap but meaty and juicy, I hope it will be cheaper and bigger when in season. Staff — friendly, fast service, self serve after the initial name calling to get food, self clean up. Food comes out within like… a minute! But freshly made food Gumbo — all right, I didn’t like that there were shells in gumbo and crab legs that had shells Other stuff — wings, phở, sides etc we have yet to try. Overall — loved it! And the fact that it’s so conveniently located in 99 Ranch with milk tea, bakery, grocery store etc near by.
