I’ve came here several times since it is convenient from my work and house. The mi quang was decent but my order was wrong. The phở was not hot enough so the raw meat did not cook. The spring roll is a bigger size but nothing special. I didn’t really like their peanut sauce cause it tasted watery. I think the best thing ive tried is their bahn mi. Overall decent but from now on I will be hitting up a different place even if it is a little further off.

Some of the best wonton soup and fried tofu I’ve had in my life! The wonton soup with egg noodles is super filling and yummy on a cold day :) the fried tofu was crunchy and light and the sauce was absolutely delicious :))) the only issue i have is the quality of the meat in the wontons, i ended up getting some not so pleasant bites :(but overall i loved it and will come back again soon!

I don’t get all the bad reviews, especially when it came from an Asian. I am Vietnamese born and raised– and this phở place is one of the BEST in town in my opinion for specialty rice dishes(com suon bi cha trung), and Phở! Their food and veggies are so fresh. I’ve been coming back for years… Don’t let those bad reviews fool you. Come try for yourself!

I crave rice. I’ve heard that an Asian can only go 2 days without eating rice. Regardless if this is true, all I know is that there are days where I search it out like a zombie needs brains. Not that I watch zombie shows. Maybe I should? Anyways. Let me tell you about Phở Quynh… Located inside 99 Ranch, Phở Quynh is a sit down restaurant /café style spot. Once you walk in the main entrance doors to 99 Ranch, PQ is on the right, near L.A. Crawfish. Walk in, and be seated inside or outside the glass window in the mall/patio area. If you are there for lunch, they have some great lunch deals that include drinks. My favorite is to get the canned coconut juice. If you like fried eggs, be sure to get the rice plate with chicken or beef with a fried egg. It is heavenly. Feeling like you need something sweet? Try the orange madelines, macaroons(not macaron), or fresh raisin butter cookies. These little babies are right outside the café in their shelving section and are available for purchase too. They make great snacks to bring to an afternoon chill or pairs well with hot tea at home or whisky. Just kidding. Anyhoo… Restrooms are located in the 99 Ranch mall area just outside to the right of PQ. Prices are terrific and service is friendly and quick. See you there in about a day, since that’s when this zombie will be craving some rice.

I think they’ve changed owners since the last time I came here. The menu is new and the items aren’t all crossed out like the previous menu where they didn’t have certain dishes on their menu. I actually like their bun bo hue dac biet here, the broth is good and they aren’t stingy with the different meats. Their rice plates are pretty good too and they have huge pork egg rolls(which are decent). After we received our food and started eating a little, I realized that we didn’t get our order of egg rolls. So, I got the waiters attention. They apologized and said it is coming soon. After they brought it out, they apologized again. Overall, the waiters are nice and polite. The food was good and the portions were large. We were each stuffed from what we got, bun bo hue, phở, a rice plate, and 2 orders of egg rolls. We ended up taking two egg rolls to go because we couldn’t eat anymore. The price was typically of a phở restaurant so it’s not over priced. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I was in the neighborhood.

Been to 99 Ranch multiple times and I work nearby so I thought I would give this place a chance… and this place is still afloat so why not? Had their Banh Mi Special… a combination of different cold meat and pâté. The baguette was crispy to how all my fellow Vietnamese peeps would like it. dangerously sharp to where it can cut the top of your mouth. The sandwich was extremely big which I didn’t mind since the price was a bit higher than what you would usually pay for in Bellaire. Totally understandable. only thing I did NOT enjoy about the sandwich was how big the meat were. Like wtf? I’m already trying my best to eat the sandwich by not cutting my mouth… now I have to open even wider for a piece of meat? Cut them smaller please. Also had the spring rolls… I never knew there was a way of messing this up. The meat was disgusting… tasted like rubber because it was so chewy. Definitely not enough sauce to dip. Probably my fault for not asking any way. I might try this place again… But only for the banh mi. Probably the grilled pork one next time.

For the amount of workers they have, they were lagging. I see people having their foods come to them before they got their drinks. I’m very picky with my phở and since moving to Houston I’ve been looking for a phở place that reminds me of home. The phở was okay. A lot better than some of the places I’ve been to. I like that it comes with a lot of noodles. I think if I was in the area and was really hungry, I’d come here but it’s a place that won’t be remembered. Took off one star for disorganization and another because the phở was okay.

Better than most Vietnamese places off Bellaire. Eggroll and crêpe are good so are their sandwiches. Their phở is delicious. Service is not fast but definitely worth the wait.

We went to this restaurant an hour before closing and they didn’t have anyone in the restaurant and we thought we were going to be able to pick up a quick bite for dinner to go. Huge mistake, we ordered a vietnamese rice plate with grilled pork and it comes with a fried egg, pickled carrots/veggies/cucumbers and also a dry vermicelli with bbq pork and Vietnamese egg rolls. The food was okay, not the best but not the worse, I would have ranked this a 3 star but the service knocked it down a star. We waited like 20 minutes for a to go order that should have been easy to prep considering there were no other customers.

Don’t bother coming here for food. We came to Ranch 99 for groceries over the weekend and thought we tried this place for lunch. 1. Phở Dac Biet — passable 2. Rice dish — pork, «bi», «cha» — all tasted like they’re turning 3. Spring rolls — how can you mess this up? 4. Vietnamese crêpe — ugh 5. Vietnamese iced coffee– too much sweetened condense milk We took a few bites and call it a meal because we did not want to get food poisoning.

This review is long overdue but I still remember that day like if it was yesterday. The first horrible restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The food here is decent but the young waiter is EXTREMELY rude. She’s in her early teens, short, and won’t hesitate to roll her eyes at customers(right in their face) if they change their mind about something or change their orders. They even ridiculously charge you like 50 cents per each togo box if you chose to order take out. The food might be good but the service is HORRIBLE and not worth a penny. You can get good Com Tam at another restaurant that won’t treat you like shit. Avoid this place at all cost or maybe until that girl fixes her attitude and eye rolling problem. I highly regret tipping her!

I always order to go the phở with rare beef. The beef is thinly sliced and cooks in the broth. This phở is normally very good. I have never dined in, but the staff is attentive. This place is very close to where I live, so when craving some phở this is where I go.

I came into 99 Ranch to buy a few snacks for a friend and since the place I was going to was a pot luck and I didn’t have time to cook, I decided to stop by Phở Quynh. I looked through the menu and saw that they serve Banh Xeo, and of course it’s my all time favorite Vietnamese dish. Now if you have ever made Banh Xeo, you would know that it does not take that long to cook. I would say ATMOST it would take about 15 minutes if you have a high enough skillet going. Now I went up to the counter and ordered 3 Banh Xeo orders to go. I paid and waited. If I can recall, the place was NOT packed nor was it that busy. I was already late for wherever I was going so I was hoping that it wouldn’t take so long to make Banh Xeo to go. I literally waited about 40MINUTES for my to go order. During that time, I was getting a little antsy and was really wondering what in the heck was taking so long. Finally when I was tired of waiting, I come up to the counter and when I’m about to open my mouth, one of the waiters looks at me, goes to the back and comes out with my to go order. First thought that came out of my mind was, WHYINTHEHECKDIDITTAKE40MINUTESTOMAKE A TOGOORDER!!! I didn’t necessarily say it like that, but as upset as I was, I did make it clear to the person at the counter and told them that it should not have taken that long to cook a simple«crêpe». Even I could make that, but since I was in a rush, I ordered it to be made. The response that the person gave was that he was attending to the customers at the tables. Mind you, there is only about 4 tables inside as well as only 4 additional tables outside. There were only 2 tables filled with people eating and 2 outside. I was furious. Not coming back.

The food is met my expectation and it’s a good place to have quick meal before(or after) go shopping for your grocery. I would rate Phở Quynh at 2nd place out of all the restaurants they have in Ranch 99. Service is acceptable. Food is definitely quick, it’s a good relief if you’re super hungry. I give Phở Quynh 3 stars because there is no ‘wow factor’ in their food that make me want to crawl back intentionally.

This place is hands down the best place to get phở that I have found in Houston. I generally get the combination phở and a fresh coconut, but everything I have tried has been amazing. The combination phở has a generous serving of meats and the broth is amazing. The fresh coconut is so sweet and the coconut water that comes out of it is like healthy gatorade. I love getting them after a good workout to rehydrate. If you’re looking for amazing food with quick and courteous service, this is the place to go for phở in Houston!

Forget the phở. And the bun(vermicelli). GETTHEBANHXEO! Not too many Vietnamese places have this glorious savory«crêpe» and this place executed well on it. It’s listed under appetizers and is a meal in itself. It’s stacked high with bean sprouts that are tender from the pan fry as well as shrimps(scrawny ones, not the usual prawns), bits of pork, and onion. The outside shell is the perfect amount of crunchiness. Often places will make a banh xeo that is too soggy or too tough. Phở Quynh is just right! The portion size definitely isn’t an appetizer unless shared by the entire table, or is eaten as an entrée. The bun thit nuong cha gio(b10 vermicelli bowl) was okay. The meat size and portions were generous but the egg rolls were hit or miss(either burnt or soggy). The phở wasn’t too greasy or salty which is unusual for a phở restaurant. That in turn will make ppl think it’s bad phở when in fact it’s not. Pass on the iced coffee. It’s not freshly brewed. In fact, it tastes canned Service was observant. They brought out a bowl and utensils for baby even when I didn’t ask for it!

I was actually quite surprised with this place. I found the Phở to be some of the best I’ve had in town. I brought my family here to eat before doing a little shopping for some supplies for dinner that night. The tofu and shrimp spring rolls were very fresh with a tasty peanut sauce. We ordered Phở(veggie and chicken), BUN(shrimp) and a chicken Banh mi(sandwich). My veggie Phở was loaded with very fresh veggies — crisp and tasty, tofu and perfect noodles. My mom really enjoyed here shrimp Bun — again fresh veggies, tasty grilled shrimp and not over cooked noodles. My man wasn’t very impressed with his Banh mi — the bread was lacking that softness on the inside he enjoys about really fresh rolls. The service was lacking too — however, there was only two wait staff and they were very busy. So orders came out at different rates and drinks were a bit slow. But putting that aside — I certainly come back!

I love Vietnamese food and since they closed my favorite spot(Van Loc) I have been on the prowl for my new viet place. This place however will not be the it place anytime soon. I ordered the egg rolls that came out really burnt, the vermicelli bowl was mostly vermicelli. The only really good thing was the Banh mi(these are hard to get wrong). Of course, take into consideration that it is inside a supermarket so you really cant expect much.

We’ve been here before and the experience was ok so we decided to give it another try today. They have pretty bad service. We had to wave down the staff to get our ice teas refilled.(The tea had an herbal taste to it. My mom made herbal tea growing up so it didn’t taste weird to me.) They would have maybe gotten 5 stars if the service was better. 1. Banh mi thit nuong(BBQ pork) was seasoned well and tasty. the bread seemed fresh. It actually had pâté inside which was a pleasant surprise. We usually add a fried egg. They nailed the egg because we’ve been places where they over cook the yolk. We like the yolk a little runny so it will give the banh mi a richer taste. The jalapeño was pretty spicy inside the sandwich for those who don’t do too spicy. 2. Gio cuon thit nuong(BBQ pork spring roll) I think they forgot to put this order in. this was the last item that was brought out. I had to ask the waiter 2 times if my appetizer was coming out. When it finally came out super late the guy who brought it failed to bring me dipping sauce(fish sauce or peanut sauce) 3. Banh xeo was pretty darn good but it’s not the normal pork inside. I think they used BBQ pork diced up inside with chopped up shrimp. It had a ton of bean sprouts and onions. Yummy! My favorite part about the banh xeo was the crispy exterior. It was light and flaky with a good crunch.(This is hard to do without out making it greasy or super thin). 4. Mi hoanh thanh xa xia(thin egg noodles with wonton and thin slice roasted pork) it was good but I know it had a fair amount of msg it in. It was a little on the salty side. The wonton itself was pretty good but they only give you 3. next time I probably will just do the wonton only.(really good wonton is at Tan Tan, Sinh Sinh and Chino fast food) Overall the food was good but the service needs much improvement. The food was around $ 28 bucks.
