La Fendee is one of the best places to stop and get hookah and fantastic fries! The out door patio is very relaxing especially if one wishes to sit back and read a book or watch some animé on their laptop. Free wifi and amazing Turkish Coffee! Bravo La Fendee! Totally recommend this place to bring friends enjoy wine and beer and have a laid back time enjoying the Montrose area.

If you like good food and great service then you will love this place. This is a great place to have a nice glass of wine and nice hookah. Their chicken shawarma and chicken kabob is a must try!

Food took an forty minutes to come out during lunch only four orders of kabob sandwich. Will not return, no sense of urgency taken when we complained to the manager. The management needs to change for this restaurant to run well during peak times.

What a nice spot to chill and relax with friends! I had a great time with friends who came to visit me from Dallas. The hookah and flavors were mixed very professional and the service was great! All the cocktails were very strong and delicious. I wish I could have my friends come every weekend.

Great place. I’ve been to this place few times and love it. The food is great, excellent service and very friendly employees. I’m a hookah smoker and love Mediterranean food. Their house salad is delicious, and their chicken kabob is my favorite. Highly recommend this place.

This place is awesome! So many things I could say but everyone pretty much nailed it. They have wonderful people and outstanding food. You feel like family when you come in and upon leaving you are filled with thoughts about when you will return.

Their hookah is mediocre. Service was blah. I had to ask about 5 times for a straw. Food was great! I had the shawarma plate. The tabouli was phenomenal!!!

Passed by this place for years and discovered by chance during a lunch meeting just how fabulous it is. Our favorite is the shawarma sandwich and plate. I’ve had both chicken and beef and could lick the plate. The fresh hummus is the best I’ve had and I am a hummus fanatic. I came home from lunch and told my husband about it and now he is hooked. We eat here at least twice a week and the staff is some of the friendliest and most attentive I’ve run across in a casual restaurant.

I love this place! When I am in this area I always have to stop by for their hot tea and baklava! They have hooka too which is a plus. Their patio facing westheimer it’s a nice spot to relax. I normally order the chicken shawarma which is delicious(their garlic sauce is great) I had the falafel for a change and it was perfection! Good ambiance and a great place to come kick back with friends after work. The owners are also super sweet! A neighborhood staple that should be visited if you haven’t yet!

I had been here once before and had a to-go order this time. I ordered the chicken schwarma plate and replaced the pita and hummus with a cucumber salad. Portion sizes were huge and the flavor of everything was great. Food was prepared correctly and ready on time. The only thing I don’t like about this place is the parking lot but other than that it’s a really good casual place.

I had never really noticed this place but needed my shwarma fix and this is the only place in the area that seemed to have it. I’m no shwarma expert but have eaten some pretty tasty ones. This one for me fell short! It lacked a lot of the authentic flavors that I am used to but hey what the heck do I know about authenticity, I’m mexican. I ordered the chicken shwarma with french fries and it was just ok for me. It is pricier than most places and parking can be a pain during peak hours. Their menu is quite extensive and no doubt that you will be able to find something you can enjoy. In my opinion, at this price range, there are better choices out there.

Omg I had such a wonderful visit here! First and foremost my waitress was the absolute best! She was so kind and had great recommendations I received some of the best customer service I’ve ever had from her! The hookah is Superb! Tastes great and burns well you get nice smoke from it. I had the chicken skewer entrée and it was phenomenal!!! Full of flavor and cooked to perfection! I will be returning here every time I’m in Houston!!! 10⁄10

Best chicken shawarma wrap in Houston. Avoid the gross hooka outside and you’re good to go.

Hooka’s, Trukish coffee, tasty food and a good staff… what’s not to love? It has a very small dining room that was a little too warm, even for a slightly cold evening… it felt good at first, but soon I was rolling up my sleeves and wishing i were in shorts and a tee-shirt. I don’t know if this is common or just a fiendish ploy to encourage people to use the outdoor patio… which has at least as much seating as the indoor dining room. The parking is terrible, but is common for the area. I would go back for more.

Feelin’ lit, feelin’ light 2AM, summer night –Kid Cudi, Pursuit of Happiness Here’s the thing. There are very few GOOD late night food places. When you’re hammered and you need some hot, delicious food to sit in your stomach, Whataburger just doesn’t cut it sometimes. So there are a few late night places open in each neighborhood(Oh My Gogi in West U, Mai’s in Midtown, El Rey in The Heights to name a few) that are go-to places for these cravings, and this place is definitely in the discussion for Montrose. It’s open til 3AM on Friday and Saturday, and it’s right next to your favorite bars. But, none of those other places have hookah. I don’t smoke cigs, but there’s something alluring about tobacco when you’re drunk that I can’t really explain. Here, you can get a hookah, a shawarma sandwich, fries and chill outside just talking about the meaning of life. I’ve tried the chicken kebab and the mixed shawarma, and both are pretty decent. The fries are awesome. They’re the kind that are sorta double fried, so there’s this outer coating of seasoning/crunch that just makes all the difference compared to normal fries. You could probably just get 30 orders of fries for your friends and nobody would complain. They’ll need it anyway so they don’t hurl on the drive home.

I ordered the gyro plate(~$ 12) to go. It came with pita bread, hummus, and rice. The rice was plain boring white rice… nothing else added to it. The hummus was super creamy and heavy on the tahini flavor, which I love! I scarfed that down. The gyro meat was flavorful, but the portion was pretty pathetic. They said it’s twice what you get on the gyro sandwich… well, that must have very little meat. The meat isn’t the usual wide, flat slices… it was short, thick slices, sparsley spread over the rice. The pita bread was the thin kind you can get at any grocery store. I paid for an extra slice and got two slices total. The taste didn’t quite remedy the chintzy portion, but maybe it was an off night. I’ll give them another shot, since I liked the taste of the hummus and gyro meat.

I tried this place for the first time last week. I was in the area for a work thing and I ate here 3 out of the 4 days because I loved the food that much. The french fries are amazing. They are crispy seasoned fries and they are out of this world. If they get it frozen from a bag I’d like to know which brand because it’s that good. The first day I had the fried chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. Then the second day I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was fantastic! It was so good I had to go back the following day for another one. Another reviewer said they didn’t serve it on bread, I don’t know what that’s about because both times I had bread with mine. Not sure what kind of cheese they use but it’s white and thick and melty and then they add onions, peppers and mushrooms. I’m trying not to drool on my keyboard. The service was always extremely friendly and fast. You are able to call ahead and pick your order up. Bonus points for serving Mexican cokes. I’m still getting used to that. More bonus points for having a parking lot in that horrible area for parking. The restaurant is mostly clean and comfortable and they have a nice outdoor area. They lose a point for the cleanliness of the bathroom because it is just atrocious. Seriously, do something about that bathroom please. It is too gas station-esque. Go for the food and the service, avoid the bathroom if you can.

This little restaurant is definitely very cute and very montrose typically. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful! We were the only two in the restaurant but it was expected because the weather that day was horrible. –Beef kebab entrée: the beef was a tad dry and flavorless to me. It was too over cooked and not flavorful. I almost felt like asking for some A1 sauce but that would’ve been weird at a Mediterranean restaurant. The hummus was good but I definitely had better. Besides flavor, I’ll tell you the food is made fresh! We saw the little lady in the back cooking and grilling. Overall this place was cute but I didn’t enjoy my beef kebabs. I would come back maybe to try something else in the near future.

Came here to grab lunch one Sunday afternoon. Didn’t not know what to expect, but knew it’s a Mediterranean type of restaurant. They have their own parking which was great, and free of charge. Walked in and it’s a cozy place with an outdoor patio on Westheimer. Some people were smoking Argela or Shisha/hookah depending on where you are from. We ordered some baba ganoush to start and Chicken & beef Shawirma plates. We asked to swap fries for anything healthier and our waitress said sure no problem. When the food arrived, I was impressed by the taste and the generous portion. The service was excellent as well. I will go back for sure!
