Everything about our dinner at La Table was perfect! The food was delicious and perfectly prepared! The service was unobtrusive and wonderful. The prices were fair. The ambiance was romantic and charming. Martin Theis and his team are amazing! This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Houston in a long time! Everything from the service to the ambiance and of course the food was just outstanding! Service: top-notch. Everyone we interacted with was welcoming, friendly, and more than accommodating, truly making us feel like VIP’s for the evening.

I have been to this restaurant three times! Service and food have been exquisite in the upstairs dining room. I have many favorite dishes but the baked chicken is amazing and serves 4 instead of two. French and Asian inspired menu! Definitely a special occasion place for dinner!

Stopped in to see what the place was like after the remodel I heard about. Really nice market and bakery. Way better than before. Service was not great. Ordered two breakfast sandwiches to go and an espresso while I waited. Sandwiches were good, took forever to come out and there were 3 people in there. Espresso was cold and really awful and pungent flavor. Cool place, decent food, bad Cofee

It’s a rare situation when all the hot foods are not hot but rather room temp. And while we said the foods can come out in any order, we didn’t expect it ALL to come out at the SAME time. The only reason why I did not give this place a lower rating is because the Assistant Manager saved the experience for us. Let’s start… 1. Beet salad — very good, the beets tasted fresh, it came with a goat cheese sauce, and looks beautiful 2. Lumb crab — meh, big pieces of lump crab sitting on top of what is similar to guacamole but tasted a bit fishy 3. Cerviche — nice flavor that is lightly lime/citrus with a fresh tomato finish; well balance between lime/tomato 4. Mushroom raviolis — came out room temp instead of hot and tasted average, the ravioli skin was a bit dry 5. Steak frites — look and tasted tender and perfectly rare plus but also came out room temp. Frites are like Ore-Ida fries with some kind of cajun seasoning sprinkle on top. 6. Shrimp and scallops — also came out room temp instead of hot. Scallops and shrimps not over cook but flavor is so-so. 7. Bottle of Caymus Special Select — fabulous 8. Their breads basket is amazing! 9. Louis XIII and Pierre Ferrand cognacs — fabulous 10. Dessert is decent 11. Green beans — okay 12. Dry Belvedere martini — decent Service… forgetful, inconsistent, scattered, and complete lack of any common sense to allow 7 dishes to come out all at the same time!!! We sat on the first floor so maybe the dinning room upstairs have better servers.

I went to La Table for lunch today. It used to be Phillipe and they have changed to a more casual atmosphere and lightened the décor. The food was amazing. I felt like I was in France at a Bistro. My Salad Niciose was very fresh and a big piece of Tuna. They now have breakfast and my friend said the French Toast is yummy. Great place if you have had a hard week and want to feel like you are on vacation for lunch(even if it is only for an hour)! We are going fro breakfast tomorrow for the French Toast. It was sooooo good.

Came for Valentines Day pre fixed menu and really enjoyed the food. Both the crab and lobster salads were excellent but the duck was one of the best dishes we have had in Houston. Would have given 5 stars but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter did not ask one time whether I wanted another cocktail or glass of wine despite having an empty glass sitting in front of me most of the dinner. Dinner plates were also cleared without asking if we were done or how the meal was, literally not a word was said which is strange. Nothing big but seemed like the waiter was just waiting to clear the table.

Valentine’s Day menu(app, entrée & dessert) for $ 95 per person is ridiculous. Price gouging on Vday is just shameful. Food was good don’t get me wrong but even IF that steak was worth $ 50, I wouldn’t pay $ 20 for the chocolate soufflé(which is normally $ 10 on their menu) or $ 25 for a cheese soufflé(which is $ 16 on their menu). I’ll never go back purely based on principle, there’s too many other great restaurants in Houston.

Great service and ambiance! Very tasty food. It’s the perfect spot for a date. They sell amazing coffee table books as one of the only retailers in Houston. But it’s not a tacky retail space — the books are decorative! So, if you like feeling as though you’re in a French library, this is the place for you. Their happy hour cocktails and wine selection are great — there is always room at the bar.

Some of the best food I have ever had in Houston. Chef Manuel is on another level. The journey started with raw oysters, then a delicious beet salad. Next, Chef brought out a yellowtail flatbread with capers. Main course was the most incredible short rib that melted in my mouth plus creamy mashed potatoes. Finished with a chocolate soufflé. You had to roll us out of the restaurant. If you are reading this, I would order everything in this review, sit back, and enjoy the show.

The service was traditional French, fine dining service. Bread and butter was awesome. Must try lobster bisque. I had the duck and mashed potatoes – so good. Venue is perfect. Price point is very reasonable. My new go-to place for sure P. S. Order the chocolate soufflé

Overall not bad I need to go back for dinner. Parking — no self-park, valet so be prepared. I did not go for dinner so can’t provide any insight there. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks. Atmosphere okay not bad you can sit at the bar and have a conversation and actually hear each other. What is interesting they have a bakery in the bar area. That is different. We had several cocktails and enjoyed the setting. Eye candy is off and on. The environment is targeted for dinner and brief socializing. There was a group at the bar celebrating something and they had the waiters circling through the group with plates of small bites. It was not crowed so it was very easy to do. I was there about 5 on a Thursday and left about 8 and the capicity did not change much. Easy to get in and if we wanted dinner it would have been easy to get a table. I plan on going back and trying dinner.

Scone time at this restaurant. End to end had a very poor experience. The bar staff was slow and inconsiderate before we sat for a meal. The service once we sat was slow and unobservant. And finally the lobster was over cooked and the vegetables over sauced.

Our first time certainly won’t be the last. This space was very good as the Table on Post Oak but La Table has taken it to a whole new level. Simply put, one of our top restaurant experiences in Houston, our new home for the past year. From the time we entered the door the service was impeccable, don’t often see this much attention. Started off with a bottle of very nice, yet very modestly priced wine. The same bottle at most places costs about 20% more. My wife ordered the cucumber/avocado salad. My lobster bisque was great but her salad was spectacular and big enough to share. For a main-course our waiter suggested the mushroom stuffed chicken for two. We rarely order chicken as an entrée and how many times does a waiter point you toward such a reasonably priced choice? It was wonderful and the table-side carving was a very nice touch. Be ready to take some home, the serving is a platter-full that our teenager enjoyed when we dropped the take-home package by the house on our way to the theater. Also don’t forget the chocolate soufflé. A perfect shared conclusion to a wonderful meal. We’ll be telling our friends about the new gem in the neighborhood! See you soon!

I’m a fan of La Table. I believe it used to be called Table at Post Oak and recently was remodeled – I never tried the old restaurant, but this new one is wonderful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a French style – partly rustic French with the market linens and sprigs of lavender and partly French urban chic with the beautiful coffee table books and black and white photographs lining the walls. When you walk in, there’s a cute bakery and then a bar and the restaurant beyond. Everything we tried was thoughtfully done. For breakfast, I ordered French toast, and it was beautifully made. It was cooked perfectly – not over-battered or under-battered – and topped with sliced almonds and powdered sugar. Just a bit of maple syrup sufficed, as the flavor was already lovely. My friend enjoyed the smoked salmon sandwich, and the spinach and tomato quiche was delicious. The only item that could use some improvement was the caramel macaron – while the flavor was nice, it was a bit hard, as macarons should be light and fluffy. Service was quiet and polite. A great restaurant.

5 stars! LOVETHISPLACE! The cucumber salad is to die for! Service is unbelievable. my waiter was well educated with the menu as well as nice and friendly. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and I may say that this is one of the most fine dining burger I’ve ever had! Presentation was pretty and taste was YUMMM! The bun had a nice crisp to it but soft at the same time. After I was done with my meal. I was given a bowl with warm water and lemon in to, to wash my hands. Just wonderful!!! I will be returning as much as possible! :)

This review is for Le Table Macarons, the bookstore/coffee shop/bakery/bar on the first floor of La Table. They only officially opened the 1st week of January so I think they’re still a hidden gem. La table is the new name for the renovated ‘table at post oak’. I hadn’t been to the previous place so I cant compare. I came in on a Wednesday night, there is complimentary valet for the restaurant– Le Table Château and Marche. The bakery sits below the restaurant. It was pretty empty besides two other parties. They have open seating, as well as a bar, and coffee shop. The bakery is immediately to your left upon walking in, and its beautifully laid out. The man behind the counter, Richard explained all the bakery items are made in house. They did an excellent job with the décor, I didn’t feel like I was in Houston. Dim lighting, bar height tables, a booth all along the side wall, and soft pillows make for a very welcoming space. All the staff we encountered were friendly. They also have wifi. We tried samples of the lemon and herb madelines, the kougles, and raisin walnut bread. We decided to purchase the chocolate peppermint pot de crème, the chocolate mousse, pistachio macaron, and a couple of the kouglof. The madeline had a unique blend of flavors that worked surprisingly really well. The macaron was decent, the pistachio flavor was a bit light. The chocolate mousse was so fluffy and a real chocolate flavor. The chocolate peppermint pot de crème was also great, it had the same mouse, and a fresh real mint flavor. We were given a sample of the bread to take home, and it is really good quality bread. They also had baguettes, and a few other varieties of breads. They also have some variety of Assouline luxury books for sale, and visible from the seating area. They also open at 7am, and the bread is baked fresh daily! I cant wait to come back and try the food items.
