If you desire an eatery where its not fast food or a pub within the NRG Medical district of Houston, Lenny’s may be your place. For those that don’t know, Lenny’s is a chain-style sub shop, yet not like one its main competitors that actually had its spokesman jailed for being a pedo(gee, I wonder what chain that could be). The sandwich meat is cut fresh right in front of you, and that smell of freshness is something that you never forget. If you don’t ooooooh, ahhhhh in front of the slicer, you may need to check your nose with smelling salts. Reasonably priced(I think), this location does come with a drive-thru for those that are in a hurry to see the Texans lose another game. I showed up at 5 minutes to their closing time of 8PM, and was appreciative of the fact that the manager let me come in to get a last minute sandwich, drink & chips. Even though that Lenny’s location is not all that great on Main Street, its still a pretty decent stop. Check it out.

I placed an order online and they completely messed up both sandwiches. When I called to tell them they didn’t apologize or offer anything to me so I had to drive all the way back there to pick up the correct sandwich. Very upset

Today was my first day eating lunch at Lenny’s and I was happily surprised. This location is located in a dingy strip center on Main Street, so I was hesitant. However, I was surprised when I entered. They have a wide array of sandwiches to choose from and all of the meat is displayed in a case and sliced deli style in from of you. The bread is baked in store everyday and you can tell when you taste it. I got the cold Italian and was very satisfied. The meat was incredibly flavorful and did not taste like it was packaged or had been sitting out for a while. I wish they would have thrown on a little more cheese, but the lack of cheese didn’t impact the quality of the sandwich. Finally, for a strange location, there were customers in there when I arrived and while I was leaving. I guess other people think the sandwiches are tasty too.

This place is great! Very fresh ingredients. They slice the sandwich meat right in front of you, as well as baking fresh bread. The customer service is always top notch. They will give you a coupon or two at check out, the manager will walk around to customers to make sure everything is alright, you can place orders online, and they are always very friendly. I’ve tried a few different sandwiches and they’ve always been good, with my favorite being the hot Italian. Check them out!

this place has my favorite sub in Houston. unfortunately no matter how nice the customer is the person who takes the order(and indian or middle eastern guy) is not pleasant. he act as though its not his job to take orders. I think he is the manager and that he micromanages his employees. example: a black male employee was taking my order and I had to repeat my order after the black dude took my order and repeated it back to me because I overheard the indian/middle eastern guy asking the black guy what I ordered and then he asked me again for my order. I wont be back to this location. I always get the Italian with spicy mustard and extra pickles. you guys have lost me as a customer. bad business. great food.

I do not understand the purpose of having a person dressed in an extremely hot Barney suit advertising. We are in Houston in July.

This was my first visit to Lenny’s sub, I most say it was a pleasant experience, they have a very broad selection I tried the deluxe sub which was very good it had bacon so i had to try it haha, I really like the way they cut the meat deli style in front of you its unique, the subs portions are greater then there competition that I’ve tried, especially with meat which is a plus for me and there red chili relish really adds flavor I enjoyed and would definitely return my business.

I went to Lenny’s several months ago, and waited for an extra long time for someone, anyone, to ask for my order at the drive thru lane. I got tired of waiting and left. TOday, I decided to give them another chance. I was promptly addressed, and I asked for a chicken salad sandwich, with tomato and provolone cheese. I got my order and left. What a disappointment when I got to my office and got a cheese, ham and salami sandwich. that is not what I ordered. I won’t be going back. Antone’s is a lot better.

Went to Lenny’s Sub Shop #201, 9150 S. Main Ste. Suite J Houston, Texas 77025, and I ordered the club. I got to my destination and shared the sandwich with my co-workers who never tried their sandwiches before. After biting into the sandwiches we were all disappointed because it did not have provolone cheese, like they advertise, and not mayo, like I asked for. I called Hugo, the manager, and told him about the mistake and he offered me 10% off my next sandwich and that is all he can do. I responded by saying that I will call his corporate office. I called their corporate office and they said that someone will talk to Hugo and hung-up. Wow! *****I got a response from Lenny’s Sub Shop corporate office and she only seems to be concerned with the fact that I said she hung-up the phone when we finished talking. Really? Well after talking she did hang-up the phone. I never said she hung-up while I was still talking. The«Wow» was because she NEVER said anyone would call me back and NOONEDID. Instead of concentrating on good customer service these people are more concerned with how they look to the general public instead of their customers. Here is a copy of the message they sent to me 6 days ago on my Unilocal account. Good thing I checked or I never would have known it was there. Would have been nice if they would have called me at home and talked to me about what happened at their shop. Good Afternoon Insightful Ford, I am the person you spoke with on the phone yesterday at Lenny’s Home Office. I have forwarded your comments from our phone conversation yesterday and I will also forward this comment on to the Franchise Owner, Franchise Support Director and our VP of Operations here at our home office for them to address this issue with Hugo at the location. I have also requested that one of our team members reach out to you regarding your comments. I would like to also address the comment in your review stating that I hung up on you. I would very much appreciate it if you would recant the story you posted in your review because you and I both know this did not happen. I was very nice to you and understood your complaint and explained that I would forward your comment on to the Franchise Owner, Franchise Support Director and our VP of Operations for them to address this issue with Hugo at the local shop. This is our guideline for handling each comment and review we receive. We also ask that the Franchise Owner reach out to the guest who lodges the complaint. Please expect one of our team members to reach out to you regarding your comments. Thank you again for reaching out to us as we appreciate you helping us learn to serve you better. Sincerely, Anita Parvin Lenny’s Franchise Systems, LLC 901−753−4002 ******I’m still waiting for them to call me…

The food was great, the price was great, the customer service stunk. We had a very large order delivered, we ordered 24hours in advance and it was 45 minutes late. The Manager kept telling me the driver was on the way, just a few minutes, blah blah blah. The worst part is that I was less than a mile from the location!

Subs are actually really good. However, we have twice now had to wait forever to order. On a Saturday there is only one person behind the counter at lunchtime? Where is everyone?

I went there with a groupon and it was refused, after they made the sandwich. The person working there threw the sandwich away, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. I realize that Groupon is not a great value for a business(I know I would never use them), but if a business issues groupons, than they should honor them. I will never try a Lenny’s sub. I contacted the corporate office, but no one ever called. If the sandwiches are anything like the service, I am better off never trying them.

Whoa! My first time at this location and the sandwich maker that greeted me helped this newbie pick out the best sandwich ever! He had me order the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with onions, mushrooms and bell peppers… MAN!!! I’ve not had a sandwich this GREAT in over 4 years… Took it to my office and came back twenty minutes later with an order for 5 more from my office… He chuckled when I walked in the door. Between the employees and the food, this place is excellent.

Ive been meaning to stop by the famous lennys sub shop. I finally did today. First thing I noticed was the manager(I think he was the manager) really freaked me out! Literally the second I walked in the door he stared at me like he would win a prize for not blinking. He didnt say a word to me, just stared… it was awkward. Some girl came and took my order and I didnt really see too much of anything I wanted. But I opted for the classic philly cheesesteak sandwhich. Some other Unilocaler said this place was just another cheap sub shop, I didnt find it cheap. I got just a sandwhich, chips and a cookie and it was over $ 10! I was expecting to spend maybe $ 6-$ 7 for a meal. which they dont have, you have to get chips and drinks seperately. I left and went to eat at work, as the ‘manager’ was still staring at me, following my every move, again, very creepy! The sandwhich was actually very good! The bread was nice and soft, the meat had good flavor and it was pretty big. I am very picky with cookies, I dont like the crumble-when-you-bite kind. I like soft and chewy, which this cookie was, so it was delicious! All in all, I’ll probably stop in again but not very often as I think its a little pricey!

This was the first time that I came to this location for a quick lunch break, lets just say my quick lunch stop turned into more than an hour event. It was lunch hour so I understand it is going to be packed but when the two people in front of me and the two people after me got their meals before I did there is a problem. Then when I told the cashier about not receiving my meal he tells me I need to wait in line to order. Once I told him i put in my order like everyone else did more than thirty minuets ago, he frowns at me and takes my order again as if it was my fault my order was not placed correctly in the first place. At the end of my order he asks me if I wanted chips with my sandwich and I told him no and he charged me for the chips anyway. I will definantly not be returning here.

This was one of the better sub places I have ever eaten at. I had the chicken cheesesteak sub and it was really, really good. Also, the jalapeño chips are the best I’ve ever had. Will return soon. Update: I made my second trip here today and ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. It was one of the better ones that I have had. It seems these days that lots of sandwich places sell meat with little to no flavor. That is not the case here. The meat tasted like well seasoned meat and it was obviously cooked fresh when I ordered it. The onions were grilled but retained the texture that only fresh cooked onions seem to have. This is officially my favorite sandwich place. Now if we could just get some in Northeast Texas!

I like this Lenny’s location. The new owner that took over in early 2011 has very much improved it. My experiences at this location in 2010 and earlier were mediocre at best. Over the past year, the service is great and they have a regular set of employees that make all the difference. Lenny’s locations have a wide quality range depending on the franchisee. This is one of the good ones. The interior is fairly spartan, but the subs are good. The times that we have used them to cater at work have always been positive. My only complaint with Lenny’s is with the chain overall. the Lenny’s branded chip portions are tiny. Some have only 1.25 ounces while Jimmy John’s and others give a full two ounces. If you get the Kettle Cooked chips which are heavier per chip, it seems there are only about 4 chips in the bag.

Came here today after work. This would be the last time this would be a possibility since they are now changing their hours from 10:30−6 pm to 10:30−3 pm M-Sat. I overheard the reason that they are changing their hours was due to bad management. The old manager apparently was stealing money/food. First off, this area is a little bit suspect so it’s probably a good thing they are closing before it gets dark. I ordered the large club on wheat. The large is about 20 inches? It makes about 45 inch subs. It is packed with freshly hand carved ham and turkey and topped with bacon. They pile on the meat here. It was funny because when I was ordering they asked if this was for here or to go. I said here and he looked totally shocked. He had to question me like 4 times to make sure that I wanted to eat the WHOLE thing. I was like I am no MAN vs FOOD but a large sandwich is totally eatable in one seating for me. The whole time I was eating the staff was staring at me in amazement. After I finished they were like OMG you’re the first person to finish a whole large. They were so shocked they offered me a free cookie and a coupon to come back. Overall, it’s just a basic cheap sub place. That sandwich that could easily feed 4 was only 10 bucks. I doubt I’ll be back but it’s not a bad option on the cheap.
